Ttc after covid jab?

Kruge21 · 15/08/2021 16:38

Hi all! I am ttc after a mc (with erpc) and about to get my first covid jab. With all the information going around in the news I thought I would rather be vaccinated before conceiving again, specially with the winter and a possible 3rd wave coming, but I am concerned the jab will stress my body and make having a successful pregnancy to term even harder. I would love if we could share here stories of pregnancy after Pfizer or AZ. Many thanks and baby dust for everyone!

NannyDorothy · 15/08/2021 17:02

I got pregnant 3 weeks after my jab after 2 years of trying, everything seems to be OK with the bab6

CaramelWaferAndTea · 15/08/2021 17:31

Pregnant second month of trying after second vaccine. 12 weeks now and all going well

Kruge21 · 15/08/2021 17:38

Omg congratulations! What a relief it might be to be already protected against covid and expecting! Star
If you don’t mind me asking, @mrsablunt @NannyDorothy which jab did you have? Pfizer or AZ?
@thingymaboob so lucky to get pregnant that fast! 🍀

I fell pregnant in early May after having my first AZ at the end of March so just two cycles later. This was after 3.5 years of trying.

Kruge21 · 15/08/2021 17:40

@CaramelWaferAndTea congratulations to you too! 🎉 Did you get Pfizer or AZ? I don’t think we can actually choose which one right?

@thecapitalsunited congratulations!! Will you be taking your second dose or wait until baby is born? I have been reading about it here (in case I am lucky too to get pregnant after 1st jab) and tons of expectant mothers seems to be getting 2nd dose while pregnant with no issues

@Kruge21 I had my second jab at 5 weeks. Since then we’ve had a private scan at 8 weeks, an NHS scan at 12 weeks and heard the heartbeat last week so everything seems fine. I had virtually no side effects with the second jab, just a bit of a sore arm. The first time I had chills and felt like I’d been run over by a truck.

mrsablunt · 15/08/2021 17:50

I had AZ Smile

JuneySunshine · 15/08/2021 17:59

Hey, I had Moderna, first jab a month before conceiving and second at 6 weeks pregnant. All ok Smile
Advice when pregnant is to have Pfizer or Moderna so you'd we best getting one of these I think in case you conceive before the second dose.

Babycakes39 · 15/08/2021 18:00

I fell pregnant the same month I had my first vaccine. Now 24 weeks and all well! Xx

jolota · 15/08/2021 18:01

I got pregnant my first cycle after getting my Moderna jab, got my second whilst 9 weeks pregnant.

TrixIrl · 15/08/2021 18:02

First Jab (Pfizer) - 15th Jan
Second Jab- 29th Feb
BFP- 31st March i.e. first cycle after Pfizer.
Currently 6 months pregnant.
Completely and definitely unrelated but I have copious gynae issues, took me almost two years and a surgery to conceive DD1 so was expecting a similar TTC journey this time and Pfizer didnt affect a thing!

Derbee · 15/08/2021 18:03

I got pregnant between my first and second Pfizer jab. No issues so far, and very glad to be double jabbed and maybe pass antibodies on to our baby

letsmakethishappen · 15/08/2021 18:08

Same here. 21 weeks conceived 6 weeks after 1st Pfizer dose. Double jabbed now.

NannyDorothy · 15/08/2021 18:22

Kruge21 it was J&J,

Dorkwillow · 15/08/2021 18:24

I had AZ, conceived about 5 weeks after jab 1 and after 15 months trying! I had a really odd and heavy period after my jab and feel like it reset something maybe, the next one was pretty standard and I conceived in there cycle. I didn’t have any other side effects with either jab. Had my second one just before I was 6 weeks and all is fine, 24 weeks now and he’s dancing away in there 😊

Possomcandle · 15/08/2021 18:28

I had AZ asy first jab an Pfizer as my second. Conceived 2 weeks later after 6 months trying...! Hope that covers all bases for you Grin
Seriously though I hope you feel confident enough to get jabbed, it is such a relief knowing the protection is there for me and the baby.

Whaam · 15/08/2021 18:48

I had Moderna, second jag in March, and I fell pregnant in April. I'm now 16 weeks.

Katefoster · 15/08/2021 18:59

I had my first one in jan when I was still on the pill, came off end of jan, had my second jab in my TWW in March and am now 25 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby x

Catipepo · 15/08/2021 19:18

First AZ beginning of Feb
Second AZ beginning of May
Pregnant by beginning of June- no known issues

Best of luck @Kruge21

Scirocco · 15/08/2021 21:43

I got double-vaccinated with Pfizer a couple of months before conceiving. Nobody had any concerns, and the vaccinations were absolutely fine. It's definitely better to be protected against COVID if you can be - the virus can be very nasty. Stay safe and good luck!

Dyra · 15/08/2021 22:29

1st jab (AZ) Start of January
Started TTC Mid February
2nd jab (AZ) Late March
BFP Mid July

Still early days, but if anything were to go wrong, the jabs would not be to blame.

Anon08 · 15/08/2021 22:33

AZ, conceived 2-3 weeks post vaccination. Had second jab at 10 weeks.
