No urge to pee more frequently

Hi all

I'm currently 6+3 and the urge to pee all the time hasn't kicked in yet... I'm going no more frequently than I did before. I understand it is a common symptom of pregnancy that you need to pee more often because of pressure on the bladder - should I be concerned that I don't feel this? Did/does anyone else not have this symptom?

Please don’t worry it’s still so early to be obsessing over symptoms not all of us get.

NiceTwin · 15/04/2021 06:47

I wouldn't worry.
Even when I was ready to give birth I still only had a pee at each end of the day.

RunnerGirl123 · 15/04/2021 06:47

Hiya! I never noticed a need to pee more frequently until the second trimester when it's supposed to ease. Every pregnancy is different and some people will experience some or all symptoms and other people with experience other symptoms or none at all. Try not to overthink everything you read about pregnancy / on apps / on a forum. Wishing you all the best for your pregnancy.

It’s very early; my symptoms only started kicking in at 6 weeks and the urge to wee more often happened with my DD but not my DS; no idea why

Sansa87 · 15/04/2021 06:48

I don’t think I got this symptom until a week ago at 35 weeks tbh. I definitely didn’t get it in the first trimester

You’re still super early, I know in my experience I just had fatigue and cramping wirh the odd wave of nausea until third trimester.

Twistering · 15/04/2021 06:54

Don’t panic! I didn’t ever get it, even late on...or sore boobs, or sickness or anything really! I wanted symptoms to prove was there but guess was just lucky!

didireallysaythat · 15/04/2021 07:07

How does a 6+3 embryo generate pressure on the bladder? Aren't they the size of a peanut, if that?

Gemmaemilyx · 15/04/2021 07:11

I didn't feel this until I was further on. I did however lose my sickness symptom at week 9 so I worried. Everything was fine... I'm 22 weeks now. Try not to symptom spot cos you'll go crazy! Just sit back and enjoy your pregnancy, you can't change anything by worrying ♥️ congratulations xxx

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2021 07:15

Your baby is teeny, tiny at the moment. It’s not until much, much later on, into the middle of the final trimester - that babies are big enough to put pressure on your bladder, and even then it depends on their position.

Chanel05 · 15/04/2021 07:15

Only 30 weeks plus did I get the urge to pee more frequently.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 15/04/2021 07:34

Calm down. It’s so early.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 15/04/2021 07:35

It’s the size of a poppy seed or something like that. How does it put pressure on your bladder?

romdowa · 15/04/2021 07:37

Some people can have it quite early , it's due to the womb itself expanding quite rapidly in the first few weeks. Nothing to do with the size of the baby

SmidgenofaPigeon · 15/04/2021 07:40

Fair enough, but there are loads and loads of early pregnancy symptoms- it’s totally expected to not get more than a few, or any.

WhoEatsPopTarts · 15/04/2021 07:44

I had three babies very close together and never felt the need to pee more than before pregnancy, you don’t get every symptom.

Colinthecaterpillar35 · 15/04/2021 07:50

Thank you to all that have given kind words of reassurance, I appreciate it ❤️

Those with the more condescending comments, please remember that there are a lot of people on here who are experiencing their first pregnancy (me being one of them) and who have nothing to compare what they are/aren't going through to anything other than Google, which talks a lot about symptoms in the first trimester and an urge to pee being one of them. Your first pregnancy may not have been a constant worry to you but to others, like me, it is. Therefore a lot of people (again me being one of them) are just seeking a bit of reassurance and advice from people on here who have been or who are currently pregnant and their experiences. Luckily I'm able to take your comments with a pinch of salt. It's the very young and vulnerable first timers that I fear for.

Don’t assume that just because not all of us worry about not having every symptom that we didn’t worry about out first pregnancy. I did, and unfortunately I lost it. I’m pregnant again now, into the second trimester and I realise that it does no one any good to obsess and become anxious over everything google says we should/shouldn’t feel. Symptom spotting can drive you absolutely bonkers and ramp up your anxiety. Stick to the NHS website on pregnancy. You could google anything and be told it’s an early pregnancy symptom, and then you’ll stress out that you don’t have it.

didireallysaythat · 15/04/2021 08:05

I won't worry about symptoms or lack of. Not everyone gets them. The only symptom I has was that I became the size of a house. That's the way I wear babies ..

PineappleSun · 15/04/2021 09:29

Same here as PP, didn't experience increased need to pee at all in the first trimester, it's only really starting now at 16 weeks when it's not meant to. I've found my symptoms to be completely unpredictable and they do not fit in with prescribed timetables. Try not to worry Smile

Salvationz · 15/04/2021 11:03

@Colinthecaterpillar35 each pregnancy is different, I’m not feeling the urge to pee in this one but have in previous one x

Bear in mind that you're talking to a bunch of pregnant women, some of whom will be nearing their due date, very uncomfortable and extremely irritable as a result Grin

xxmyheartxx · 15/04/2021 11:10

I'm currently pregnant with my 6th (10th pregnancy) and I'm still as paranoid and anxious as I was when I was pregnant with my 1st, if not more as I've experienced losses. Each pregnancy is different, I've only ever felt the urge to go to the toilet more with my smallest baby and that was only in 3rd tri. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Salvationz · 15/04/2021 11:10

@GreenSlide they probs shouldn’t comment then if they are so irritable x

Inmypjsagain · 15/04/2021 11:23

Hi OP- I’m 23 weeks and still don’t have the frequent urge to pee. Definitely didn’t have it in the early days either, the only symptom I didn’t have! My good friend said the reason she twigged she was pregnant was that she realised she’s peed more than 10 times in a day (she thought she was getting a UTI) then clocked the late period. We’re all different so I wouldn’t panic :)

LittleTiger007 · 15/04/2021 11:54

Your baby is minuscule at this point. Plus every pregnancy is different. I know you say you’re an anxious person, which is fair enough, but try not to worry about things that are unimportant. Take a deep breath and be grateful that for now all is well Flowers
