Hi all

I'm currently 6+3 and the urge to pee all the time hasn't kicked in yet... I'm going no more frequently than I did before. I understand it is a common symptom of pregnancy that you need to pee more often because of pressure on the bladder - should I be concerned that I don't feel this? Did/does anyone else not have this symptom?

Oh don't be silly, you can't censor people just because they aren't super nice, that's not how mumsnet or the world works!

Think of it logically - how could there be pressure on your bladder when the baby is still tiny (around the size of a blueberry)?

I think it’s a bit of a misconception that the urge to pee is because of pressure from the baby, it’s hormones in the first trimester and later on as the baby grows you get pressure on the bladder.

Either way OP- embrace the fact you don’t need to pee 10 times a night 😊

Its a common symptom but no guarantee.

You pee more due to hormones and increased blood volume in pregnancy, not just the size of the fetus. All women and all pregnancies are different, symptom spotting can be really anxiety inducing, though I do totally understand why people end up doing it. x
