How close to your due date did you give birth

I'm on my second cycle atm so if I was pregnant now I'd be due 3rd Dec. If I got pregnant next month I'd be due 27th Dec. I'm thinking of skipping next cycle as I really don't want the baby to have a Xmas birthday but I think I'm being stupid as I know someone whose birthday is then and she was due in April! Most people that I've spoken to haven't given birth near their due date so I'm jw how close to your due date did you give birth and would you try and avoid a Xmas baby?

2 weeks before my given due date. I felt that I actually had about 3 weeks to go.

I was working that day and hasn’t started maternity leave.

Baby number 1 was 11 days late
Baby number 2 was 3 weeks early
Baby number 3 was a week early
Baby number 4 was 5 days late
Baby number 5, born january 2021 , born 2 days early.

38 weeks exactly. No doubt about dates or them changing at scans as it was an IVF pregnancy.

I'm actually going for more IVF this month which I'd rather not have done as it will be a potential December Due date. However beggars can't be choosers! I can't afford to waste any time and didn't want to tip it into a potential 2022 date so here we are!
It will be early December though so secretly hoping 2 weeks early again would go into November. (All very much an 'if' anyway as high chance it won't workSad)

Meant to add, DS was due in July but arrived in June, I'd purposely not choose to plan a summer due date again as he has struggled all the way through school which may be due to him being one of the youngest, may just be due to him personally, we'll never know. But with that in mind I'd always planned to try for a September-November due date for the next one given I had the choice of when to try with IVF.
Another reason was it was hell having a cluster feeding newborn permanently attached to me in the hottest weeks of the year!

Congrats on your pregnancy and glad you got the date you wanted. Just wanted to add into the mix... when we first started TTC I worried about stuff like this. Then it took us over 30 cycles to get a BFP and we had 2 MCs in a row. I no longer give a monkeys when my baby is born so long as they arrive safely! Obviously I hope other people don't have the same challenges but you never know if you will be one of the unlucky ones so maybe don't overthink it?

I gave birth five days early.

PurpleFlower1983 · 23/03/2021 11:20

38+1

luckymagnoliatree · 23/03/2021 12:22

DS1 - 4 days after due date (induced)
DS2 - 6 days before due date (not induced)

I totally understand not wanting to have a Xmas birthday really, as it's not ideal, you never know what's going to happen though. My friend was due in mid dec, so could have been a Xmas baby if she was late but her dd arrived at the end of nov (her first was earlier than due date too by about 3wks)

Ariana87 · 24/03/2021 14:21

1st 38 + 1
2nd 38+ 5
3rd - arrived on due date last month Grin

Inthesky42 · 25/03/2021 06:32

We were TTC for 9 months, finally got pregnant in March. Due date 13th Dec. Had him Dec 25th (Christmas day!) 12 days late. I wouldn't change it for the world. What was meant to be was meant to be x

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 25/03/2021 06:42

2 days late
5 days late
12 days late
3 days late
8 days late
14 days late (induction)
10 days late
