Anyone fallen pregnant after Covid vaccine?

Hi,

Bit of background- need IVF to conceive. Embryos are abroad in North Cyprus. It’s been a total heartbreaking nightmare trying to get out there these last 12 months to have an embryo transfer.

We don’t know what North Cyprus will require when they are allowing Brits back in. I’m sure they’ll let those vaccinated in to their Country without many, or any restrictions, but would like to think those not yet vaccinated will be allowed in with some measurements in place.

Anyway, I had Covid last month, around 5 weeks ago. My period post Covid was very weird and I still don’t feel right. Often experiencing cramps/tiredness etc...

My GP surgery have offered me a vaccine. I’m asthmatic but it’s under control. I was lucky in the respect that Covid didn’t impact my chest/breathing much.

I’m absolutely torn on this. One one hand I think having the vaccine may get me in to North Cyprus easier, but on the other hand i’m so scared that the vaccine, so soon after Covid will be no good for me in terms of fertility. I know Covid causes inflammation, so imagine the vaccine may? Is having the vaccine so soon after having Covid going to impact the chances of a frozen embryo transfer working... how can we know for sure?

I’m hoping to get to Cyprus in May, so that wouldn’t be enough time for the second dose anyway, as there’s no way I’d transfer an embryo until at least 10-12 weeks post vaccine.

Anyway, i’ve gone off on a tangent, but has anyone fallen pregnant soon after the Covid vaccine, if so, which vaccine?

Yes, the Oxford one :)

Ithinkitsokay · 19/04/2021 14:37

@Tbug was everything ok ? I’m just looking up this subject as my dsis has had issues after her vaccine (delayed cycle) and was wondering how you are as can’t find much online

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 19/04/2021 14:41

Not yet, but I'm currently TTC and have had both doses of Pfizer vaccine. In your case I would have the vaccine

Tbug · 19/04/2021 14:41

Yeah all good :) 12 weeks now! Not having second till after birth tho xxx

1ce1cebaby · 19/04/2021 14:58

Pfizer end of January and pregnant with next period. Goodluck x

Dinosaurus86 · 19/04/2021 15:10

I had the pfizer vaccine on day 2 of the cycle in which I conceived. Still early days for me, but I had an early scan a couple of days ago and all ok then.

Janxyb · 19/04/2021 15:14

I had the Pfizer vaccine, conceived on next cycle and nearly 8 weeks pregnant now ☺️

FeistySheep · 19/04/2021 16:17

I haven't been vaccinated yet (would take it if offered, despite the fact that I'm currently pregnant) so sorry I can't answer your question!
But just wanted to say that I think that the vaccines do not actually contain Covid at all - they contain something which your body thinks is Covid and therefore produces the correct antibodies etc - so I don't think that you would expect inflammation from the vaccine just because Covid can cause inflammation. I'm not an expert though, so have a Google yourself Smile

Amibaking · 19/04/2021 22:50

Hi, I’ve had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine and fell pregnant 2 weeks after the second dose.

Amoh · 19/04/2021 22:56

I had my vaccine in January and became pregnant immediately. It was an ectopic which ruptured in March. Now I’m pregnant again. If anything it’s making me super fertile Wink.

PinkDaffodil2 · 19/04/2021 23:06

I’m TTC since both Pfizer but no cycles yet due to breastfeeding I think. I was happy to have mine before getting pregnant as at the time there wasn’t a lot of data in early pregnancy (I think there is plenty now for Pfizer / moderna and they’re recommended).

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 19/04/2021 23:29

Yes but miscarried

Taenia · 20/04/2021 08:49

I feel pregnant the same month has having the first jab (Oxford one) only 8 weeks so far, but so far no signs to say anything is wrong.. :)

Nic2020 · 20/04/2021 09:05

I had my first Astra Zeneca vaccine in March and just got my BFP yesterday... however I wouldn’t have my 2nd as it’s not advised for the Oxford vaccine! Xx

bookwitch13 · 20/04/2021 10:21

Pfizer January, LMP Feb 1- currently (fingers crossed) 11 weeks today with 2 spot on reassurance scans so far

Chloejaynexx · 21/04/2021 11:26

Hi I had the Pfizer one 25th feb and got my bfp last week! X

FrangipanFlower · 21/04/2021 20:11

I had my first dose of the AZ vaccine a week before getting a positive pregnancy test. I’ve been seeing a consultant gynaecologist due to previous issues and she’s advised me to take the second dose when offered as the risk of getting Covid whilst pregnant outweighs any potential risks from the vaccine. Currently 11 weeks x

Mumtotwofurbabies · 21/04/2021 20:21

Judging by my dates (5 weeks preg now) I’m pretty sure I conceived the day after my COVID vaccine. AZ jab. I’ll get the second one as well I think.

AngeloMysterioso · 21/04/2021 20:27

AZ vaccine 2nd March, BFP 23rd March.

SunflowerIris · 22/04/2021 07:08

Yep, I’m a doctor and got pregnant between my first and second Pfizer doses. All going well so far, and I am just really relieved that I probably won’t get COVID while pregnant.

Minster2012 · 23/04/2021 07:51

Yep I'm now 5 weeks pregnant (naturally) & my embryo likely implanted the day I had my second AZ vaccine. Btw I had 3 lots of ivf recently and was just waiting for my second jab to be done before doing the ivf again (as jab was falling right in middle of stimulation time) so we put it off a month & got pregnant naturally that cycle. I'm high risk & I was told by my clinic to go ahead with the vaccines & they are able to go ahead straight away let me see if I can find the guidelines I was sent in feb as the latest advice then. My consultant said it was only a matter of time before they change it to say pregnant ladies should have both anyway

I had my second vaccine on 8th March (Pfizer) and got bfp 9th April cycle #1
For what it’s worth, I spent most of December and January nursing in covid ITU and none of the above affected my ability to conceive..

Whatshouldicallme · 25/04/2021 15:05

Had my second dose of Pfizer at the end of Feb, had my first positive test on our first cycle trying about 4 weeks later. I think we conceived approx 2 weeks following my second jab.
