First predicted 9.5lb, born at 7lb11oz

Second predicted 10lb2oz, born 10lb3oz

GoodbyeToCare · 06/02/2021 17:50

I was warned my baby would be 4lbs or less. He was 8lbs so not very accurate.

NatalieH2220 · 06/02/2021 17:52

Not really, the indicated my son was going to be petite and fairly small. He was 3 days early and 7lb 3oz so perfectly good size and actually bigger than my first!

Helspopje · 06/02/2021 17:52

Utterly no correlation at all

resipsa · 06/02/2021 17:54

'Small for dates'. 7.5 lbs at full term 🤷‍♀️. Now just 10 and 5' 3" with size 6 feet!

Tier500 · 06/02/2021 17:54

Mine was spot on - estimated 9lbs at 40 weeks, she was born at 9lbs exactly at 39+6. I didn’t believe them at all and thought she’d be much smaller but they were right!

BeeyatchPlease · 06/02/2021 17:55

It's a load of rubbish, in my opinion. I was expecting a close to 11lb baby....came out 8lb5!

BringPizza · 06/02/2021 17:56

Both of mine underestimated by around 1.5lbs, so mine were of no use Grin

annlee3817 · 06/02/2021 17:57

Predicted at 7lbs 6oz at 40 weeks, and she was born at 40+5 7lbs 10oz, so pretty accurate

sanmiguel · 06/02/2021 18:08

Predicted 7 lb 5 and arrived 10 lb 3

3JsMa · 06/02/2021 18:13

I can really remember my 2nd second as they said he will be 14lb 7oz.I was terrified as I was really skinny and my previous was 7lb 7oz.
I think midwife's hands are much better at estimating as when I came to hospital in labour she said ''he is average'' .He was 8lb 6oz,thanks God.
3rd was on 95centile,born 7lb 13oz,4th they said she will be on smaller side,was 7lb 5oz.

Fullofthejoysofspring · 06/02/2021 18:18

I had multiple scans with DC4 and her predicted weight was bang on. Ditto for DC1 and 3. DC3 was heavier than expected.

EcoCustard · 06/02/2021 18:23

3 of mine were way out, Dc4 was a little closer.
My first was predicted to be 7lbs and arrived at 5lbs. So a way out. Dc3 was estimated at 7lbs at 38 week scan. Some issues at 39 weeks showed her to be much smaller. She arrived at 39+3 weighing 4lbs10oz a tiny little thing on the 0.2 centile.

mnahmnah · 06/02/2021 18:26

My scans and jump measurements were always normal expected size. He was 10lb 11oz. How they missed a go at baby I will never know!

mnahmnah · 06/02/2021 18:26

*bump

mnahmnah · 06/02/2021 18:26

And *giant! Bloody autocorrect

bookgirl1982 · 06/02/2021 18:27

I had a very late growth scan the day before I gave birth and it was 30g out.

kittlesticks · 06/02/2021 18:30

I was induced because they thought DS was small, had stopped growing and needed to get out and feed etc.
He was 7lb. I was quite pleased with that but all the tiny baby stuff I had got went back to the shop.

Hm2020 · 06/02/2021 18:32

I had my last growth scan at 33 weeks estimated 5lb born 33+5 at 5lb 7 so pretty accurate

LindaCartersBun · 06/02/2021 18:34

Not accurate either time for me.

Predicted ‘around 8lbs’ for DC1 - he was 10lbs 6oz

Predicted 9lbs for DC2 - she was 7lbs

Hirewiredays · 06/02/2021 18:37

Bang on for all three!

Megan2018 · 06/02/2021 18:39

Very close for me, last scan was 6lb 7, born at 6lb 10

passthemustard · 06/02/2021 18:54

Mine was spot on really. 8lb 3oz born at 39 weeks. Now 14lbs at 6 weeks 😱😱

Tomatobear · 06/02/2021 22:15

Scan guessed 10lb, he was 9lb

TaVeryMuchLove · 06/02/2021 22:34

Spot on for me.
