Ok, so, when I'm eating, I'm am always aware that it might not be staying down for long, and wonder which food I'm going to particularly regret.

For example last week, tuna pasta was NOT good.

Activia yoghurt....not too bad.

What are the best and worst foods when coming back up?!?!

rice cakes and water were ok.

Flat coke was ok as long as you told the consultant you'd had it as it spooked mine a bit when I was admitted once?

MamaGrump · 21/01/2021 21:46

@pinkangelita

Coco pops used to come back up ok 😳🤣
Same for sugar puffs! (which also made my pee smell like them if I did manage to keep them down)n

Cream crackers, ginger nuts and hot salty chips

grisen · 21/01/2021 21:50

Anything as long as it’s chewed up well and washed down with coke is okay to me.

However, any pasta or spaghetti is awful. And lettuce, I can’t even look at it without being reminded!

Risotto, so thick and difficult to come up. A fully body experience heaving that up 🤢

Suite88 · 21/01/2021 21:54

I found breakfast cereal like cheerios was ok. Crackers like Ritz or mini cheddars were not too bad as well.

I also recommend avoiding fruit juice.

I learnt to keep my eyes shut whilst I was sick and then press the flush before I opened them again. I stopped me being put off eating anything that had come back up.

Don’t eat sausage. I had a massive craving for a sausage sandwich once and literally thought I was going to die when throwing it back up lol. It was horrific, I was gasping for air.

I started having coco pops for cereal because chocolate is never bad. Chips were okay, as long as they were softish ones.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 21/01/2021 22:24

I can't really give anything that wasn't too bad because I find it's oy not too bad if it comes back up almost immediately. Once it's been down for a while and mixed with acid, it's all terrible.

Things that have been the worst for me though have been
Bread (bagels, not just as bad)
Any dairy products
Anything tomato based like pasta sauce etc
Anything with a high sugar content. This also makes me feel a bit funny.

TommyShelby · 21/01/2021 23:25

Avoid dairy. Really acidic and it’s just vile.

Had a terrible experience with Fanta orange coming back up that I’ve not drink it since...

Cucumber and celery I ate a lot of, mostly because of the water content they weren’t as minging coming back up!

NewjobOldme · 21/01/2021 23:29

Ready Brek kept me alive during HG.

moonlightstarlight · 22/01/2021 10:24

Lol!!
Thanks for the replies. They have made me laugh and feel sick all at the same time!!!
I think I'm going to get some weetabix and tomato soup on my next shop, and stay well away from the ginger biscuits!! Grin

I was sick everyday until 35 weeks pregnant and found that smoothies tasted the same coming up so had those in the morning. Any fruit wasn't too bad although a bit acidic!

Worst was shreddies - I ate them and was sick within a minute so had to scrape them out of my throat they were still so thick EnvyEnvyEnvy haven't eaten them since!
