Anyone else about 4 weeks?

I'm very very early on, having found out last week. Desperately hoping this little bean sticks - the road to 12 weeks seems very, very long after my previous mc. Still not sure I really believe this is happening!

Just wondered if anyone else was about at the same point and wanted some company?

I'm thinking that too @IdrisElbow I'm lucky enough that I've not had any Mc this is my first pregnancy but feel acutely aware of the risks

Amichelle84 · 20/01/2021 20:28

Hi everyone 👋 I'd like to join!

Congratulations to you all, especially those who have suffered MCs.

After many years trying I finally fell pregnant last year, after a complicated pregnancy, my son was born 6 weeks early in July. I have just found out I am pregnant again, as if 1 lockdown baby wasn't enough!

The test said 2-3 weeks, I cant remember the last date of my last period.

treesall · 20/01/2021 20:53

I am planning to have an early scan @IdrisElbow . I had one with my first pregnancy, and then also had one last year with my second, which confirmed my suspicions that I'd had a missed miscarriage. I will do so again this time because although they only provide reassurance for about 5 minutes, it's still a magical feeling to see that heartbeat (hopefully!).

Also feeling shattered today but not sure if that's just because I've had an intense day at work or if it's early pregnancy kicking in. Seems a bit early for that?

Wow @Amichelle84!! Massive congratulations. You are going to have your hands very full! How exciting :-)

@treesall thanks, yeah it is such a anxious time. Im trying not to worry because what will be will be, theres nothing I can do to stop another mc.

Is anyone hoping to get an early scan at EPU? After my first mc they told me they would scan me at 7-8 weeks on my next pregnancy as a reassurance for me. That was over a year and a half ago pre lockdown. I'm not sure if that will still happen now.

Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I've been awake at 4am the last 3 nights for 2 hours before finally falling back asleep

Aozora13 · 21/01/2021 09:30

Thanks for starting the thread @treesall I didn’t quite feel ready to join the Sept birth club but too preggo for the TTC chat!

I’m 4 weeks today if you go on my LMP (Christmas day!) or a bit more if I adjust for my stupid short cycles. Trying to take things day by day as it’s so early and I am ahem geriatric Grin

Congratulations everyone and fingers crossed for happy, healthy pregnancies all round!

AliceThroughTheLookingGlass · 21/01/2021 09:48

@Trying93 I'm suffering terribly from insomnia. 4am wake ups all this week! It's what made me take a test.

I had early scans at EPU with my last pregnancy due to bleeding but unless the bleeding reoccurs I don't think I will with this one.

littlelionroars · 21/01/2021 09:50

Hi Everyone! Mind if I join?

I just had a BFP this morning, it was extremely faint but definitely there.

We've been trying for 5 months, but had a bit of a drama with an embedded copper coil which was finally removed in August after months of waiting due to the impact of covid on the hospitals in my area. So it feels like it's taken ages!

Feeling relieved as I was worried there may be some damage from that.

I'm going to keep testing and really hoping to see that line get darker over the next few days.

My DS has just turned 3, so this will be baby No 2 for us. He was a honeymoon baby, conceived on our first try. So it was alot more straight forward last time around.

Congratulations to all of you, wishing you all happy healthy pregnancies.

treesall · 21/01/2021 10:07

Welcome @littlelionroars and big congratulations! My first was conceived first try too, and is now not far off 3. The coil drama sounds horrible! Poor you!

Welcome @Aozora13, congratulations! It's nice to have a group of us at the same stage :-)

@Alicethroughthelookingglass its horrible, I never had this with any of my other pregnancies. Im so tired so hopefully it will pass soon

AliceThroughTheLookingGlass · 21/01/2021 12:44

@Trying93 I had it in the third trimester last time but not the first. I can only hope that it stops soon - I can't imagine another 36 weeks of this! One bonus of the enforced working from home is I can at least have a proper nap on my lunch break!

Trying93 · 21/01/2021 13:51

@AliceThroughTheLookingGlass thats good you can get a nap. Im a key worker and unfortunately can't work from home

AliceThroughTheLookingGlass · 21/01/2021 14:20

@Trying93 that's a shame you can't have a nap at work. My husband's just reminded me that my bedtime changed to about 8pm with a post-work nap last time so clearly the exhaustion isn't new for me even if the insomnia is! Try and sneak a nap into your day where you can, I always found the more I'd overdo it the worse other symptoms would be.

treesall · 22/01/2021 07:35

I should be 4+4 / 4+5 today. I did a digital this mornjng and it still says 1-2.

With my previous pregnancies it moved to 2-3 as soon as I was 4 weeks.

Do you think I should be worried?

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 22/01/2021 07:53

@treesall I wouldn’t worry, everything I’ve read says how those digitals really aren’t to be relied upon. The hcg levels for each stage are pretty vast, and you could just have slower rising hcg but as long as it’s doubling then that’s all it needs to do.
Is this the first 1-2 result you’ve had this pregnancy? For all you know you could be just on the cusp of switching to the 2-3.
I’ve read about women who have had a 1-2 result and then a 2-3 later that same day.

I’m 4+5 today and got my 1-2 at 3+3 then my 2-3 at 3+5. I’m worried to do my next one as I’ve read it’s quite a big jump to get to the 3+ and that some women have never got it or not got it until they’re 6-7 weeks!

Honestly don’t worry, that’s what I’ve been told. That they just aren’t that reliable!

treesall · 22/01/2021 07:58

Thanks @Moominmiss. I had 1-2 7 days ago so not feeling too confident. I did one yesterday and it said 1-2 and I should have waited until the weekend like I promised myself I would...but in a moment of weakness this morning I did it!

Trying not to panic. I can't face another miscarriage Sad

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 22/01/2021 08:04

No, don’t go panicking yet. Your urine could have been more diluted, and as I said the threshold for each stage is pretty big.

I really wouldn’t worry. I’ve always always found my wee to be way better for testing than fmu. Even when using digitals. They say to use fmu but I’ve always used afternoon.

Think it’s because I don’t drink enough while I’m in work so by the time I get home it’s so concentrated.

Think positive. There’s absolutely no reason to suspect anything is wrong. You’re not having any pain or bleeding.

I do know what the worry is like though, after 4 Mc’s myself. I don’t think that worry will ever go. Do you have a private scan booked yet?

I have one booked for when I’ll (hopefully) be 7+5, having that booked is something to work towards and I think it’s helping me. My last mc was around now so I’m focusing on getting passed this stage. Just take one day at a time, but I’m betting you’ll get that 2-3 soon or it might even just straight to 3+ like I’ve seen with some ladies!

AliceThroughTheLookingGlass · 22/01/2021 08:04

I wouldn't be worried at this stage. It's still so early. I had an early scan in my last pregnancy that put me two weeks behind where I thought I should be and all was fine. Have a play around with this HCG calculator whenmybaby.com/implantation-doubling-calculator.php it's really interesting how the starting levels of HCG can affect later levels, as well as differences in doubling time (all which would affect the weeks indicator).

treesall · 22/01/2021 09:03

Thank you @AliceThroughTheLookingGlass.

@Moominmiss no I haven't booked a scan yet, but will aim to when I'm 7/8 weeks I think...if I get that far.

OP posts:
Aozora13 · 22/01/2021 09:26

@treesall easier said than done, but I do agree with others that it’s really not an exact science so try not to worry too much.

Unlike me who is swithering between freaking out because I feel pretty normal and freaking out due to extreme mood swings and being too tired to get my fat arse off the sofa. It’s going to be a long few months!

Pebbleinthesand · 22/01/2021 10:01

Hi, would love to join you all. I got a faint line yesterday and then a positive and 1-2 weeks on a digital this morning. I think I'm due anywhere from 3rd to 5th October, but my cycle is 25 days so one calculator I used asked this and put the 3rd and another didn't and came out with the 5th.

@IdrisElbow I never had a early scan with DD 4 years ago and there's no reason to assume that I would be more at risk this time (lower weight, more active, healthier diet) but I feel so nervous this time. When I got pregnant with DD I felt like that was it, there will definitely be a baby in 8 months time. This time, I feel like I'm perhaps more aware of what can go wrong and how common it actually is.

@Moominmiss is saw that you have an early scan booked. Is it a private one? How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

@littlelionroars that sounds awful about your coil. I felt bad enough having to wait 4 months to have mine out because of covid, but at least it was still in tact. I was exactly the same and you with my DD and fell pregnant on the first try so even 5 months of trying (which I know isn't all that long) has felt like an age.

Moominmiss · 22/01/2021 10:27

@Pebbleinthesand congrats on your bfp!!!

My scan is a private one, I’ve booked it with Window to the Womb, it was a £30 deposit (non refundable) with another £29 to pay on the day, so £59 in total.

Pebbleinthesand · 22/01/2021 10:35

Thanks @Moominmiss. That's not too expensive really, less than I thought it would be. I might look into it, just for my own piece of mind, if only for a little bit.

Moominmiss · 22/01/2021 10:38

That’s my reckoning too @Pebbleinthesand, the reassurance I might feel may only last a day or so but for me that’s better than none at all. I will likely, all being well book another scan for around 10 weeks. Several losses definitely have increased my anxiety levels!

Good luck with everything!

littlelionroars · 22/01/2021 11:22

@Pebbleinthesand Welcome and congrats!

It sounds like we've had quite similar journeys. In the end I actually went private to get the coil removed. Had we waited for the NHS I might still be waiting.

So I feel fortunate that we could afford to do that. I do know that in the grand scheme of things it is a small problem that was easily sorted.

I am an incredibly impatient person though, so I struggle with anything that doesn't happen right away Grin

I think having a couple of weeks off over Christmas really helped destress.

I took a clear blue digital today and it was very exciting to see the word 'Pregnant'

I'm feeling tired, bloated and having some light cramps today. So taking that all as a good sign that things are happening.

I'll definitely be booking a private early scan at 7 weeks like some of you ladies. I had one with DS and it found it very reassuring.

treesall · 22/01/2021 11:28

Welcome @Pebbleinthesand and big congratulations!
