Hi everyone! Smile I have just had my BPF this morning (after having a faint positive yesterday and confirming it today) but I feel like I have a dull ache in my lower stomach, sort of like pre-period pains.

Has anybody else had this? Is it normal/anything to worry about?

Thanks!

I had these cramps at about 7dpo and then I got a bfp at 11 dpo (two days ago) . I had very slight cramps that day and yesterday, nothing much today but test had a stronger line today :)

Just wanted to say hi to other people similar to me 😊

Thanks everyone for your replies, I am now 5+4 and the cramps are easing, I'm just exhausted and have sore boobs! I am now just counting down the days until the 12 week scan and keeping my fingers crossed. I hope that you are all okay?

Has anybody had an early scan before? If so, what are your thoughts on them? Smile

I'm a first timer so not had an early scan before but am planning to book one in for when I'm 7 weeks just to check everything is okay, obviously there's no guarantee after that but I really would love to just see their little heartbeat :) also I'm not sure what's happening with regards to scans and partners in my area so would be nice to have my partner there for the first one just in case!

@VNttc I can't decide about an early scan at all, I don't know anybody who has had one and just don't know how much they show you. I have contacted the midwife team and hoping to get a letter soon about my 8 week appointment and may ask them what they think about early scans... or do some internet research! I have the apps that follow progress and it just doesn't seem like you can see much from the early scans does it... but I would love the peace of mind and to know that everything is going okay!

It is all so exciting isn't it! I am six weeks tomorrow! Grin

@MommaAtobe I had an early scan yesterday at 8+4 and I'm so glad I did! It was so reassuring seeing the heartbeat 💓

MommaAtobe · 07/01/2021 11:22

@BananaHammock23 that's good to know! Could you see much? Did they have to do it as an internal scan? I really can't make my mind up...! I just can't wait to see the heartbeat, I bet it's amazing!

@MommaAtobe
They do normally do it as internal as the view is much clearer (obviously the last thing you want is them to be struggling to find anything). You don't see much at all I think, just a peanut and a heart beat but they can do measurements to check everything is the right date etc and make sure there's enough fluid etc. To me I would rather find out there's nothing or a problem at that point rather than 12 weeks into it!

MommaAtobe · 07/01/2021 15:02

@VNttc thank you, I think I may book one as I have just had confirmation of my booking appointment which isn't until the day before I am ten weeks and the wait is killing me already. Knowing my luck my 12 week scan will be more like 13 weeks and I am just far too impatient!

@MommaAtobe I was surprised at how clear the picture was. I could see the baby which looked like a little prawn and the heartbeat was so clear. It was a transvaginal scan yeah, I think it's the best way to see this early. I had them every other day when I was having IVF so it doesn't bother me anymore 😂

MommaAtobe · 08/01/2021 11:16

@BananaHammock23 that's amazing! I'm so glad you were able to see a lot from the scan, how exciting!

I have just found out that in my area, partners still aren't able to go to the 12 week scan so I am going to book a private scan for my Husband and I when I am 11 weeks and 1 day (as that's my birthday!) and I want him to be able to see quite a lot with it being our first scan ever, so that will be five weeks today! All very exciting!!
