Did you have really strong feelings about whether it was a girl or boy? And we’re you right or wrong?

Just for fun really.

DH and I are both super convinced that the baby is a boy. No reason really just a feeling. But we’ve been referring to it as ‘he’ pretty much since the beginning.

20 week scan is next week. I’d be delighted with either but starting to think it would be pretty funny if it’s actually a girl!

Did you have strong feelings on the sex Before you found out and if so were you right or wrong?

I knew it was a girl, knew it in my soul, knew it in my bones, was absolutely certain.

It was a boy Grin. I wasn't disappointed, just shocked that my intuition was obviously completely wrong.

Disappointedkoala · 17/11/2020 16:03

Got it "wrong" both times. I'm a terrible guesser.

LuckyFlash · 17/11/2020 16:36

So funny how many of us have had such strong feelings (even if they’re wrong! 😂)

Even though I’m sure I’m having a boy we have a girl name picked out that we absolutely love and no boys names we can agree on so pros and cons to both!

I’ll let you know if I’m right next week haha

I was utterly convinced this pregnancy I was having a girl - it’s been utterly vile and the polar opposite of my pregnancy with DS.

Had gender scan yesterday - it’s another boy! It goes to show every pregnancy is so different!

firstimemamma · 17/11/2020 16:40

I knew 100% that ds was a boy from the moment I saw the positive pregnancy test.

ilovethecold · 17/11/2020 16:43

With my first I just knew he was a boy and I was right.

I'm 40 weeks pregnant at the moment and we don't know with this one , I'm 50/50 😂😂

FreezerBird · 17/11/2020 16:44

I didn't have any sort of feeling either way but couldn't think of girls' names when pregnant with DS, or boys' names when pregnant with DD.

physicskate · 17/11/2020 16:48

Had a dream I was giving birth (not pregnant, not of having a newborn, but of actually giving birth - not a nice dream) two days before my positive test. I tested when two days late. The baby in the dream was a boy.

20 week scan last week said boy!!

Tearsfortiers · 17/11/2020 16:51

My first I was convinced it was a boy and had already chosen the name. People at work used to ask how George was doing before he was even born. My leaving card has lots of mentions from people saying that they can't wait to meet George and to make sure I bring George in for a cuddle etc. I had a girl!

My second I was convinced was a boy again and it was!

Riv12345 · 17/11/2020 16:58

As soon as I fell pregnant I knew I was having a girl

This was 36 years ago
Then days they didn't tell you the sex at the scan

Whilst I was pregnant I made a baby pink teddy bear
I was just so certain she was a girl

And I was right xx

Theseptemberissues · 17/11/2020 19:22

Always from a young age I felt I would be a ‘boy mum’ never bothered even thinking about girls names! Have two DS’s. Currently considering trying for a third but I know I’ll get pissed off with the ‘are you trying for a girl this time?’ Questions throughout the pregnancy 🙄

MaidenMotherCrone · 17/11/2020 19:24

With all 3 I 'knew' they were going to be boys and they were. Lucky me.

DramaAlpaca · 17/11/2020 19:24

I was certain all three times. I was wrong Grin

Grumpy19 · 17/11/2020 19:27

I have been wrong the first 3 times. But correct this time (if the 20 week scan was correct!)

FilthyforFirth · 17/11/2020 19:41

Nope. Was convinced DS was a girl, all the usual old wives tales. Really genuinely shocked at my 12 week scan (why, there was literally 50% chance!). Obviously he was a boy.

This one I assumed boy, but that was because I already had one. It is another boy.

Mommabear20 · 17/11/2020 19:44

I never had strong feelings but my DH and my dad both insisted, pretty much from finding out, that the baby would be a girl and they were right, I'll never forget the luck of snugness on their faces when she was born (for my husband) and when I FaceTimed my dad after! 😂

LouJ85 · 17/11/2020 20:23

With DD1 I initially thought she was a boy ... she definitely wasn't. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant with my second, who I again thought was a boy... had gender scan on Saturday and she is in fact another little girl! Wrong on both counts 😂

MaryShelley1818 · 17/11/2020 21:20

@Helenknowsbest

Was adamant my first was a girl.... he was a boy. Was sure my pregnancy now was another boy and its a girl lol.
Exactly the same for me! Was sure my first was a girl, we referred to baby as "she" and thought of lots of names and have a beautiful little boy. This pregnancy I was so sure was another boy that we chose a boys name and I imagined DS and his little brother running around together. It's not, we're having a little girl in January.
Dyra · 18/11/2020 06:54

I was convinced I was having a boy up until about 35-36 weeks. I woke up one morning and I realised that that was wrong, and I'm having a girl. Change of heart was correct. I had a girl.

My colleague, who was due about the same time, was also convinced she was having a boy. She remained convinced right up until birth. She also had a girl.

Keepingcomfy · 18/11/2020 06:59

I'm almost 36 weeks with my first, and have absolutely no clue. I regularly dream that I've had the baby or am just through labour but the sex of the baby changes each time. One night boy, next night girl and so on. I do look at my scan pictures a lot and wonder, but at the same time it's really exciting not knowing. I have a growth scan later on today and will be making sure they don't accidentally let it slip!

MiniMaxi · 18/11/2020 07:05

Felt like I was having a boy, did have a boy!

BikeRunSki · 18/11/2020 07:07

I thought I was having a boy both times. Very similar pregnancies. I was right once.

SuperbGorgonzola · 18/11/2020 07:18

Felt very strongly first that it was a boy, and I was right.

Second time I had no strong feelings but I was expecting a boy again because of old wives tales (miscarriages, 'you probably can't carry girls', all of DHs side are boys) and I had a girl.

LolaLollypop · 18/11/2020 07:18

First baby had no idea until she popped out! Lots of people said I had a “girl bump”.
Second baby there were just a few small differences that made me think it was a boy. I was sick (for one weekend only thank god) which never happened with DD. I had a sneaking suspicion it might be a boy but didn’t want to say incase people thought I was hoping for one (I wasn’t!). A couple more people said they thought I had a “boy bump” than with DD. Lo and behold DS popped out, I was right Grin

TJF2020 · 18/11/2020 07:27

I did when I first found out I was pregnant, I always said it be a boy not sure why just always been my gut feeling. Everyone around me said girl as I was pretty sick in the first trimester, had a private gender scan last week and I was right it was a little boy
