Did you have really strong feelings about whether it was a girl or boy? And we’re you right or wrong?

Just for fun really.

DH and I are both super convinced that the baby is a boy. No reason really just a feeling. But we’ve been referring to it as ‘he’ pretty much since the beginning.

20 week scan is next week. I’d be delighted with either but starting to think it would be pretty funny if it’s actually a girl!

Did you have strong feelings on the sex Before you found out and if so were you right or wrong?

First pregnancy I knew almost instantly in my gut/soul I was pregnant, and it would be a girl.
I tested the day I was due, positive, and had a girl.
Second pregnancy, didn't know until I fainted walking home, and zero gut instinct as to girl or boy, through the whole pregnancy. Had a boy.

I know it is only a sample of two, but it confirmed for me every pregnancy is different

Flowers2020bloom · 17/11/2020 14:39

Yep, thought dc2 was definitely a girl- found out she was a he at the 20 week scan!

DieCryHate · 17/11/2020 14:40

I did. So much so we originally said we wouldn't find out the baby's sex at the 20 week scan but I was so sure it was a boy I wanted to find out if I was right as I was already subconsciously bonding with my "son". He was a boy.

Csari · 17/11/2020 14:41

I knew DC1 was a boy, I had a really vivid dream about 2 weeks before my scan and was just certain. This pregnancy I have no clue lol hoping I get an inkling before the scan just to see if I'm right.

FolkSongSweet · 17/11/2020 14:41

I knew with complete certainty both times and was right. With DC1 j knew he was a boy to the point we didn’t even try to think of girls names. With DC2 the pregnancy felt so completely different from day 1 (I was so sick whereas nothing with DS) that it had to be a girl. Again I was right.

Ella17393 · 17/11/2020 14:43

I was convinced I was having having a little boy, everyone would comment that my bump was on the large side to be a girl and that it had to be a boy. Hubby and I even had dreams of a boy, so imagine my surprise when I was told it's going to be a girl. Hubby's face was a picture. So all the bump myths and how you carry didn't apply to me after all. I was so used to the idea that it was going to be a boy I was thrown off guard but I can say im genuinely happy.

hotcrosswhat · 17/11/2020 14:50

I don't know yet (I'm 15 weeks) but early on I had such a strong premonition that they are a boy and I had two vivid dreams that they are a boy...however since seeing them at the 12w scan I now think girl, I can't put my finger on why though 🙈 please keep us posted OP!

pumpkinpie01 · 17/11/2020 14:50

With my 4th I was adamant I was having a boy to the point of not thinking of girls names. My dd was desperate for a sister I told her not to get her hopes up and she definitely would not be having a sister. I was correct , a boy.

Oneandabean · 17/11/2020 14:58

With my first I had no idea until we settled on a name at 34 weeks and I knew straight away it was a girl and that would be her name. No idea why.
With this one we’ve said he from the very beginning, not intentionally it just happened. Thought boy. Had 4D scan last week and now I’ve started saying she, not a conscious thing, just happens. Also had 2 dreams it’s a girl. So still no idea 😂

GoldenOmber · 17/11/2020 15:01

Very strong feelings every time. Totally wrong, every time. 🤦‍♀️

MsChatterbox · 17/11/2020 15:01

Very strong feelings for both. But I expect these feelings are desires and I just got lucky.

Oreservoir · 17/11/2020 15:04

With my ds no not really.
I always knew my dd was a girl though.

I am not into psychics and anything like that but my dm was going through a tough time and dragged me to see this woman.
The woman told me stuff that honestly she could never have guessed at. She also said there's a little girl in your future.
I had my ds, no intention of having more dc. When I fell pregnant I just knew.

m4d0 · 17/11/2020 15:06

First baby thought was a boy, we didn't find out though I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and was fairly sure I saw balls though didn't tell my husband. Baby due on Saturday and I think a girl mainly because very different pregnancy but will see.Smile

Tavannach · 17/11/2020 15:08

Not until I was actually in labour and then I knew with 100% certainty that she was a girl. So about 2 hours before she was born!

iloveyoubutilovememore · 17/11/2020 15:08

Yes! With my first I had vivid dreams of a little boy with curly dark hair & big eyes (which he has) I just assumed he was a he from the start. This pregnancy (17 weeks) again I just had this strong gut feeling I was carrying another son. Even at the 12 week scan, where you can't see the genitals I could tell by looking at him that it was a boy.

So many people guessed girl for this one too as the pregnancy has been TOTALLY different. More sickness, different cravings, extremely tired etc etc. My first pregnancy was a breeze. But no, both little boys x

SprogletsMum · 17/11/2020 15:09

I didn't have a gut feeling either way but with most I got the opposite sex to what I wanted.
With ds1 I wanted a daughter first, dd2 I wanted two little boys close in age, dd3 I wasn't bothered either way, ds4 a girl would have been much more convenient in terms of our house layout.
Was happy with what I got each time though they're people, doesn't matter if they're girls or boys.

SinkGirl · 17/11/2020 15:11

Not at first but once we found out it was twins I could only picture two boys. I wouldn’t have been upset if it was girls but I just couldn’t picture anything else. And I was right.

Then at 35 weeks I felt really wrong and just not right at all. Hard to explain but I knew something was up - one of my twins had stopped moving and I had an Emcs that day.

I don’t really believe in intuition generally but I definitely had it when I was pregnant! It’s gone since though 😂

Helenknowsbest · 17/11/2020 15:29

Was adamant my first was a girl.... he was a boy. Was sure my pregnancy now was another boy and its a girl lol.

fairydustandpixies · 17/11/2020 15:33

When I was 10yrs old and on holiday with my parents, I saw a baby boy in a high chair in the hotel restaurant. I knew then that I'd have boys in the future. And I did, two DC, both now adult DS. I also know my miscarriage was a boy but wasn't told.

PostTummyTuck · 17/11/2020 15:34

I was right with all 3 of mine! We'd only chosen names for a particular sex each time and we were right! Panicked we didn't have a name for the opposite sex but didn't need them at all!

4amWitchingHour · 17/11/2020 15:35

Felt so sure I was having a girl. Was wrong Grin

Dollywilde · 17/11/2020 15:38

I didn’t, but literally everyone told me I was having a boy. I had strangers telling me ‘oh it’s definitely a boy’ - not a single person thought baby was a girl.

Guess who’s trapped under a slumbering 3 month old DD right now Grin

I still remember the moment DH turned to me in the delivery room and went ‘it’s a ...girl????’. The midwife had to confirm to him yes, yes it was a girl. He was just amazed after everyone’s comments!

(Personally I like to think everyone thought she was a boy because my bump was so neat when in actual fact it was because I didn’t put on much pregnancy weight, but that may be the sort of smug delusional stuff that you never ever share outside of an anonymous website Wink Grin also it’s obviously bollocks 😂 )

SpillingTheTea · 17/11/2020 15:41

I never wanted to find out the sex.
I knew all along I was having a boy. I just knew. I had a boy Grin

Xiomara22 · 17/11/2020 15:45

I was convinced we were having a boy from about 12 weeks, not sure why just did and then we found out 20 weeks together that we were having a boy. Partner was overjoyed as he wanted a boy, I wasn’t fussed either way with him being my first.

NatalieH2220 · 17/11/2020 15:50

Convinced it was a boy first time and I was right.

Second time I was a bit more unsure, initially thought boy but just before we found out I started to think girl due to different cravings. He's not here yet but have been told we're having another boy!
