@MnM156 our little one was diagnosed with unilateral talipes at the 20w scan too. Did you have the bloods done at 12 weeks for screening? They offered us the amnio too but I declined as the screening tests came back low risk. Try not to worry too much, did they scan you at 28 weeks too?xx

@MnM156
sorry I just reread and saw that your screening tests came back low risk. Honestly please try not to worry too much. I’m having to go for growth scans too (not related to the talipes) and have my first one next week (32 weeks). There are so many reasons why the baby could be measuring small, I find the measurements have been fluctuating from scan to scan too. I effectively had 3 twenty week scans and all measurements were different, then when I went for the 28 week scan one measurement was apparently smaller than the 20 week scan but they didn’t mention anything about that 🤷🏼‍♀️. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry too much. Talipes and other abnormalities don’t always go hand in hand ❤️Xx

@LockedDownKnockedUp
Thanks a lot for your reassurance. Our 12 week blood work was all low risk. The baby was doing well despite Talipes at the 28 week scan. There were no concerns. Then I had a scan at 31 weeks where he was measuring small. Now I have a scan again on Friday when I would be exactly 33 weeks. The doctor has us really scared honestly. Even though there are no other markers of any chromosomal abnormalities other than the small measurement, we have been constantly told that it could be because of the Talipes and any other unknown abnormality. I mean she even suggested termination at this stage after getting an amnio if it shows some abnormality. So we really took her seriously. Didn't get amnio as for me it is too late to consider termination. What reasons has your doctor given you for the varying measurement? I am in London at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
We are both almost in the exact same boat. Would like to continue tallying our notes in future too. Also, have they mentioned anything about induction to you due to your baby's measurements? My doctor mentioned it that it is likely that they induce me by 37 weeks.

Hi ladies

I’m nearly 30 weeks.. really struggling working from home atm looking to finish mid December so got a good few weeks to go still. I’ve just recently been told I have diabetes so was kind of down in the dumps about that still am to be fair... having loads of backache pelvic pain sciatica.. hardly sleeping always wake up in the night toilet etc and then that’s it I’m wide awake and then next min I no I’m getting my daughter ready for school lol

LockedDownKnockedUp · 11/11/2020 07:14

@MnM156 no problem at all, I know how scary it is! Hopefully they’ll give you a bit of reassurance at your scan on Friday. Surely if it was something serious they’d have picked it up on the earlier scans? There was a big jump in measurements for us between the 20 and 28 week scans so you’d think that would be the really important one! They didn’t even mention the areas where the measurements had changed and apparently gotten smaller, I just noticed it on the letter they gave us with the measurements. Definitely keep in touch! We’re in Cardiff so treatment plans for baby may differ slightly but sounds like we will be having similar journeys 😊. Are you a member of the Clubfoot & Talipes UK group on fb? Loads of different and helpful stories on there that will hopefully help put your mind at ease too.

I can’t believe your doctor has suggested these things to you at such a late stage! For one, it’s super insensitive! Two, they would have presumably picked up anything serious at the 28 week scan! Keeping everything crossed for you lovely.

Ps. No, no comments yet on induction etc. My first growth scan is next week so will have to see what they say then. Although I’m due to start my mat leave the day after I’m 37 weeks and that’s not until Christmas Eve so I’m hoping they don’t suggest the same for me 🙈

Hi ladies.

@Mnm156 best of luck for your scan on Friday. Remember there can be loads of reasons for babies to measure small (not least that the scans can get it wrong!)

I am 30 weeks today so feeling quite chuffed. No more mucus plug gone after a very, very crampy day earlier in the week. The low papp-a has really made me worry about premature labour but 30 weeks feels like a safer place to be!

@Miss2820 I also work from home and it is hard, especially when people assume you are just sleeping all day! I am going to carry on right up until my due date though as I figured I could have a rest over Christmas (as much as you can with 3 dc!) and then January is usually a very quiet time so might as well work then and get the time off later with the baby.

Grumpy19 · 11/11/2020 10:22

@emma911030, you are definitely not the only one secretly hoping for and extension to lock down. I want an 'out of my hands' reason to neither have to cook dinner for a load of relatives are 36 weeks or have to fill a car full of the children's presents and go out on Christmas day!

maymay6575 · 11/11/2020 12:17

Lool some how I'm looking forward to Christmas I just want to eat all the food maybe because I won't be the one cooking it'll be my mum so I'm kind of lucky 😩

This is my first child so I don't really have to buy gifts except for family and friends which I'm okay with I just love the fact that we all can get together and have a great time especially with all this covid thing going around it's time to have some fun with family

@Miss2820 so sorry you've been told you have diabetes hope you and baby are doing good... yes the restless nights are annoying especially when you have to pee 24/7 I can't imagine how you feel when you have to wake up to bring your daughter to school in the morning. This is my first baby so I don't know how that feels yet 😩 but when my partner gets ready for work so early in the morning I always wake up and find it so hard to get back to sleep

I’m up all night long last night I was up all hours of the morning trying to get comfortable and then I had bad sciatica in my left leg all night, I got physio tomoorw so hopefully that will help, then I got my diabetes appointment Friday finally so I can actually find out what is going on

LockedDownKnockedUp · 11/11/2020 13:29

@maymay6575 I’m so glad I’m not alone in being tired! I’m working from home at the moment, but don’t know if that’s better or worse 🤷🏼‍♀️. I feel like if I was leaving the house I might feel a bit more awake 🙈. 31 weeks today, but definitely on the count down to maternity leave now!

When is everyone else going on mat leave? Not sure if I’m being overly optimistic leaving it until 37 weeks 🙈xx

Miss2820 · 11/11/2020 13:48

I had leave to take so I’m actually finishing 22nd December but I don’t actually start my maternity leave until 14th jan x

LockedDownKnockedUp · 11/11/2020 14:24

@Miss2820, I’m the same actually. Mine starts 11th Jan and I’m due on 13th. Fingers crossed the baby stays put until after Christmas!

I’m not due until 24th but I’ve developed diabetes so not sure if they will let me wait up until then.. not sure what the process is, I’ve heard different things from Different people saying they don’t let you pass a certain amount of weeks.. I’m very big I’m so petite but feel more bigger this time round then I did with my first
