Hey everyone. I have googled this and read all the old threads but really wanted some recent stories of anyone who has or is going through the same.
I’m now around 6 weeks pregnant (last period was 8th sept) and Sunday I had some pink discharge and nothing else then Monday a little blood throughout the day but not a lot and it stopped that evening and turned brown and today only a tiny bit of brown discharge/maybe old blood. I have no cramps or anything that I would describe as painful. The doctor said I have to just wait for 7-10 days and then retest and if bleeding gets heavy then to call back.
I had 2 x positive tests on a first response a couple of days after my period was due but the cheap test strips always showed negative that’s why I bought a first response.
I know I have to just wait and see but has anyone else had this or experiencing this and it so what happened? Thanks in advance xx

@mrswilso
I can understand why private scans are so popular and also quite reasonably priced if the NHS won’t scan before 8 weeks.
I completely understand every department is under pressure due to Covid however the same as you it shouldn’t be at the detriment to people’s other health concerns.
Am excited for your scan tonight 😊😊😊

I just went for my last pee before I start filling up for it 😂 just had a little smear of pink on the tissue too 😣
I'm anxious...I so hope we can see something positive...trying to keep myself grounded, I don't wanna go in too hopeful and burst into tears if it's all gone wrong 🤣 I'm an ugly cryer 😭😂

DMT1982 · 14/10/2020 19:51

@mrswilso I’m thinking of you Xxx

Thank you @DMT1982 💕

So it was a weird one...my bladder was freaking huuuuge! And she struggled to get a good picture transabdominal cos my uterus seems to be an extremely awkwardly tilted one 😳 so we ended up doing the transvaginal - which was nowhere near as terrible as I expected, less bother than a smear - and she managed to find a 5mm sac. It looked empty though. She was fab and really lovely, she ended up spending over half an hour with me.
She said 5mm is quite small for how far along I think I am and that although she can't rule out that it could be a viable pregnancy she would have been much more comfortable if she had found a yolk sac...she's advised that I should see EPU (and was shocked when I told her that I had already told them about the bleeding and that they said they wouldn't see me before 8 weeks) to follow up because she's seen an empty sac so I'm gonna call the GP tomorrow and let him know what's going on, ask him to refer me over and see what happens from there...
Feeling okay although still a bit confused 🥺 hopefully my FRER arrive early tomorrow morning...maybe the lines might give me more clues...looks like I'm in it for the wait with you hun 🤞🏻✨

DMT1982 · 15/10/2020 06:36

@mrswilso
Thanks so much for the update 😊
Sounds like you’re still in the running then as they can’t say for sure either way but I fact there is a sac there is good and like the lady said you are very early so that maybe why nothing else can be seen. I really hope now you’ve had a scan and they’ve confirmed that there is a sac there the EPU will see you for a follow up scan.
I’m pleased the scan wasn’t as traumatic as you anticipated as I wouldn’t really fancy being scanned inside either.
I really hope the FRER show you as being pregnant because that’s another tick ✅
Keep us updated please 🤞🤞

I tested with another Tesco one this morning and showed not pregnant 🤷‍♀️

Will wait for the FRER to arrive at the weekend and test on Sunday then call the doctors on Monday to see what they advise. I don’t think I actually feel pregnant anymore if that makes sense but equally I haven’t had a period and had the tiniest bit of blood on one morning so if that’s a miscarriage I would be shocked but also understand as it’s different for everyone. Xx

I know what you mean@DMT1982 - haven't wanted to admit it myself and I didn't think I really had many symptoms but the obvious ones were a pee every morning at 4/5am (even though I usually sleep through) and permanently erect nipples and I've noticed a decline in them...I also don't "feel" pregnant anymore, it's weird cos I didn't think I felt it last week but I notice a difference now...

DMT1982 · 15/10/2020 11:07

@mrswilso did your FRER arrive?
I’ve had a tiny bit more brown spotting 🤷‍♀️ It’s not knowing if you’re actually feeling certain things or looking out for them so much that you notice them more if that makes sense.
I just want to know and be able to put my mind to other things and stop obsessing whether I’m still pregnant or not.
I’m now thinking it may have been a chemical pregnancy and I tested after I missed my period and positive twice however then 3 days lager had the little red spotting and now brown xx

mrswilso · 15/10/2020 11:24

They're not here yet so I think I'll be holding off til tomorrow morning now. Can't hold my second pee much longer 😂
The sonographer last night said I would test positive because of the sac so it's probably a wasted test if I was to POAS today anyway. I'm just keen to see how the line compares to my last one...
I'm crossing everything for you - the cheap ones aren't as sensitive as FRER so hopefully they're just not picking up as well for you.

DMT1982 · 15/10/2020 12:28

Sounds like your sonographer was lovely and gave you lots of good advice 😊
I tested with a FRER as couldn’t wait 🤦‍♀️ Showed negative which deep down I expected. Must have been a chemical pregnancy and if I wasn’t so exact with my periods I would never have tested and been none the wiser 🤷‍♀️ I think from now I’ll just let nature take its course and not track anything then I won’t be testing too soon. Just because this has happened to me doesn’t me it will happen to you. Please keep me updated tomorrow on your results and pregnancy xx

mrswilso · 15/10/2020 12:56

Aw man I'm sorry @DMT1982 that sucks ☹️
I'm starting to wonder if I've screwed myself up being overconfident about the tracking now too, just sat down and worked out the latest I could possibly have conceived and the dates all still work out if I got an early implanter based off my LH strips, days we had sex and the date I got my first positive test (it would be maybe 7/8dpo for my first faint faint line)
I'm gonna keep taking the prenatals and try not to move for the next week 😂 I'll update when I get any answers. Take care of yourself today 💕 thinking of you.

DMT1982 · 15/10/2020 13:15

I’m honestly ok as I think deep down I grieved on Monday when it all started so today has just confirmed it plus I’ve now started getting period type pains and the brown spotting has increased.
Please don’t start worrying you’ve been over confident about tracking because you are pregnant and the scan has shown you are but it maybe just a little less down the line than you first thought.
I really think you’ll get a positive on your FRER tomorrow and that will put your mind at rest a little more. I think after any bleeding you’ll always be worried over the next 9 months but you only have to read the stories on here that show how many success stories there are after any bleeding so keep that in mind when you are having a wobble xx

@mrswilso did you do your FRER today? Xx

OP posts:
mrswilso · 16/10/2020 13:55

I did @DMT1982 - got a positive as we expected, it was a dye stealer too so it's given me a tiny bit more hope. I'm keen to do another one in a day or two and see what changes...although I won't settle until the scan I know it 😂
After having a good look last night - me and hubs think we can see a teeeeny blurry circle on the scan pic too. It's up at top near the middle - definitely need to zoom in to see it.

6 weeks pregnant - spotting red for one day and now a little brown today 😢

@mrswilso whoooohooooooo fantastic so chuffed for you I completely understand you won’t stop worrying but this is another big positive in more ways than one 😊😊😊😊

DMT1982 · 20/10/2020 12:19

I spoke to doctors yesterday and they said if still no period in two weeks will get sent for a scan. Tests are still negative so I’m def not pregnant xx

Hi, I’m in a similar situation. I am 6+3 today and last night I had about an hour of bleeding. It was bright red like my period had started but then stopped all of a sudden and I had no cramping at all during this time. Had a bit of brown discharge this morning but now don’t know what to think. I’ve got a scan booked at the EPU tomorrow but do you think I should be worried?

DMT1982 · 20/10/2020 13:12

@Sophkee. Bless you it’s horrible isn’t it as you think the worst. Stay positive as lots of people experience bleeding and it’s all ok. The fact you have a scan tomorrow is great as you’ll hopefully be able to see how you’re progressing. Good luck and keep us updated xx

@DMT1982 sorry hun - didn't spot you're message yesterday! I'm doing okay, no more bleeding still so just crossing everything until Thursday ✨
Was supposed to have my rebooked booking "phone" appointment at 1pm this afternoon...the second one, cos they missed the first...and no call again. I'm fuming! Just left them a raging voicemail 😂

mrswilso · 20/10/2020 13:25

@Sophkee thinking of you 💕 try not to stress out, there's nothing you can do. Just take it easy and relax as much as possible today. I hope it goes well tomorrow ✨

Sophkee · 20/10/2020 13:31

Thank you, thinking of you all too and hoping for positive outcomes! X

Mishmased · 20/10/2020 14:19

Hi everyone, @mrswilso I recognize that name. I started bleeding at a few days short of 5 weeks. Not heavy but enough for a panty liner. Dark red with cramping and back pains and cramps around lower abdomen. Called epu and they don't scan before 6 weeks. Had to wait 10 days to bring me to 6.5 weeks. Found heartbeat and turns out I have a hematoma that is causing the bleed. I'm 8 weeks and the bleeding can be on and off. Holding out for my 12 week scan. @DMT1982 I'm so sorry, I had a mc in July at 6 weeks. Look after yourself.x

DMT1982 · 20/10/2020 16:28

@mrswilso yay so chuffed you’re doing 🙌🙌 not so chuffed you’ve been forgotten again! Have the called you back and apologised or still radio silence?
@Mishmased thanks for joining the thread. I didn’t realise how common early mc’s were but having read a lot of threads a lot of ladies fall pregnant again soon afterwards which is positive.
I’ve read a lot about hematomas (can’t spell!) and what a relief to be told all is ok and you saw the heartbeat 💗 I know you’ll always be knicker watching but at least you have a reason for the bleeding. This may put @Sophkee mind at rest a little that it’s very common. Keep us all updated on your progress girls xxx

@DMT1982 they did call me back about 4.30pm and thankfully I got the most lovely understanding midwife I've spoken to there (turns out she's the cover for the chaos at Lanarkshire at the moment)
She done my booking with me and booked me in for blood on Monday so I'm really chuffed that I'm getting somewhere finally - here's hoping little Bub is giving me signs ✨ I also asked her if she would be my direct contact for now, she did say it's not the done thing but she's gonna speak to her boss and see if she can keep me on her books because I've been through such stress with it all already. I could have cried haha!
@Mishmased I definitely recognise your name! Sorry to hear you're having a time of it 💕 its so stressful! I feel like it's really robs us of being able to enjoy this time when it's supposed to be a little happy secret 😭

DMT1982 · 21/10/2020 08:24

@mrswilso massive thumbs up to finally getting someone who wants to help. I can’t believe what a struggle it’s been with constant chasing. Sounds like utter chaos and carnage but you’ve found someone who is lovely now so let’s hope from now is the start of a happy new journey in the baby world 🤞🤞
Fantastic you have been booked in for bloods as well. Will put your mind at rest even more and having a point of contact to speak to instead of being passed from pillar to post will make so much difference 😊😊 keep us updated please xx
