Tell me your weird dreams during pregnancy

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and when I do manage to get some sleep at night - I'm having the weirdest dreams!

Two that I've had recently:

  1. I went to the hairdresser to get my long, waist length hair trimmed. I told the hairdresser to only take off a couple of inches to tidy up the ends. I fell asleep whilst she was cutting my hair and woke up to find she'd given me a short bob, up to my chin! I went home and DP refused to talk to me!
  1. I bought a fish from a pet shop. It was small and brown. It was handed to me in a clear plastic bag half filled with water. I left the pet shop and started heading home. On the way, the fish gradually started to grow inside the bag. It kept growing and it became apparent that it would soon be too big for the amount of water and would therefore suffocate. I started to panic and had to keep tipping the bag to move more water towards the fishes head. I quickly made my way to a chinese market (!?) where I found a pet shop. I anxiously asked them to take the fish off me, which they agreed to do. As I handed the bag over, I felt the body of the fish.. it was warm. I pointed out to the pet shop worker that I hadn't wanted a warm blooded fish, I'd wanted a cold blooded fish. Anyway, he poured the fish from the bag into a big tank and the fish was fine and seemed happy in his new home. I was very relieved!

Such weird dreams!

Anyone else having weird dreams during their pregnancy?

Loads!

It's actually a girl not another boy

Husband leaving and getting lost and I can't find him and have to do it alone

The other day my sister in law was a warthog trainer 🤣🤣

Changedmynamelots · 06/09/2020 22:14

I had weird ones, sometimes vivid ones about ex’s, about me being in films I’d watched.
Jumping out of a plane and landing on a roof and then being chased and jumping over buildings.
I had some weeeirrrrd dreams!

TruffleMama · 06/09/2020 22:18

@mumsofboys

Warthog trainer 🤣

I just nearly spat out my tea!

I can only remember two from my first pregnancy that were baby related.
In one, I had taken the baby out to play with like a doll and I panicked when I couldn't get it back in because the midwife would tell me off!
In the other I had a window in the front of my tummy and I could just look at it!

Ajahd · 06/09/2020 22:24

At the start of my pregnancy, my dreams were very much baby related. One was a break in, and I got stabbed in the belly, it was awful. Another was I had the baby, but it was the size of a toddler. I couldn't breast feed and there was no formula in the shops (I think this stemmed from lockdown shortages, surprised I didn't dream about toilet paper also) so my husband fed the baby a kinder bueno (was also around the time I really craved kinder Buenos). Most recently, with only 2 weeks until my due date, I've had lots of dreams about planes/helicopters crashing around me, proper disaster movie type stuff. However, I regularly have dreams about planes crashing/falling out of the sky, even before pregnancy so I've read up on it before and it relates to feeling out of control with your life. Baby could be here any day now, or it could be another 3 weeks, so I definitely do feel out of control!

Springb0ks · 06/09/2020 22:38

Just before my 12 week scan I had a dream about a little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. I saw his face and everything. I swear that is my boy now at one and a half. It sounds weird to say I met him in a dream before he was born?! I also called him by his name in the dream... and I spent the rest of my pregnancy convincing my husband to call him that name... tears and everything! I often think about that dream.

Babyfg · 06/09/2020 22:46

In my first pregnancy I dreamt that my baby was born with no arms or legs just hand and feet from the torso (I actually asked them to check my babies limbs 🤣

We were told at the 29 week scan he was a boy and I dreamt that he was born and the midwife dressed him in pink trousers. They were trying to hide that I had a girl not a boy. He was definitely a boy in real life!

Then I dreamt I took the pushchair (my most exciting baby purchase) out before the baby was born to try it out. I woke up crying I got the wheels dirty!

Pregnancy hormones are mad!

EllieGolightly · 06/09/2020 22:50

Loads and loads of weird ones, but the most bizarre one has been dreaming that I was trying to Google a picture of Jonny Depp when he was younger to show someone, but the only pictures that came up were current paparazzi pictures of John Travolta no matter what combination of words I searched. Tickled me when i woke up, to have dreamt of something so inane

mumsofboys · 07/09/2020 08:00

@TruffleMama my hubby thought I'd gone mad when I woke and started talking about warthogs. Last night a family member we have issues with was trying to kidnap one of my sons. I was then wake 2-4:30 thinking of what I'd do if it happened 🤦🏾‍♀️

TruffleMama · 07/09/2020 08:23

I had the worst nights sleep last night. Woke up at 4am and don't think I got much more sleep between then and my 7.45am alarm.

Last nights dream:
I was with a group of people who were friends in my dream but in real life, this group of people don't exist.
One of the group of was the actor James McAvoy. He was seemingly my best friend of the group. We went to watch the latest IT film at the cinema. It was one of those nice fancy cinemas with reclining chairs. Everyone from the group sat at the back, but James and I sat on the front row. James had bought me an entire tub of Dulce de Leche Haagen Dazs ice cream. I ate half and left the rest for him. He said he'd wait until it was melted as he prefers his ice cream that way.

There was a technical issue, so we all had to leave the cinema for 30 mins and come back. James and I went to a little Italian restaurant. We sat outside and ordered toasted sandwiches. We ate them and when it came time to pay, we found they were ridiculously overpriced. We opened our hands, they were full of coins and the waiter picked out all the pound coins.

We headed back to the cinema and while watching the film, James pointed out a camera which had been set up in front of us. He said it was like the ones you get on theme park rides, it would take photos of us during the scary bits of the film.
So, during the scary bits, James kept nudging me, encouraging me to copy him by putting my hands up in the air and pretending the scream so that our photos would look like we're on a theme park ride.

So bizarre!

@TruffleMama 🤣 id love to know where these dreams come from.

So bloody tired today... earliest riser was 6am too 😴

Jocelyn3 · 07/09/2020 09:19

Every pregnancy has been the same for me. I usually don't remember my dreams, but when i'm pregnant boy do I have some vivid dreams. I break out in sweats almost once a week. The last one was me being in a plane that had an emergency landing and we safely (thank god) landed on a highway....Would love to now why it only happens when I'm pregnant. Can only imagine it's the raging hormones.

physicskate · 07/09/2020 09:37

Before I took a test (so probably on the day af was due), I dreamt I gave birth. Not being pregnant, not having a baby, but the actual giving birth part. I even told dh. I haven't remembered dreams in a long time due to sleep deprivation with dd.

Weirdest thing ever, but it made more sense when I did a test two days later and it was positive.

UserFriendly14 · 07/09/2020 09:41

Yesterday it was that I had a date with Justin Fletcher (aka Mr Tumble) and Ronaldo on the same night! Justin came on a bit too strong though. I thought it said something about me that I was willing to give them both the same shot!

SkyBlue20 · 07/09/2020 09:55

Oh God, I've had some awful dreams over the last week! I dreamt a friend didn't tell us she was pregnant but then we found out her little boy had died, then I dreamt I was in a terrorist attack, the next night I dreamt I was on a treadmill that was about to blow up and last night I dreamt I was told I had a MMC (I had a MMC in March and have my dating scan on Wednesday so I guess that's where that came from).

I'm only 13+1, I dread to think how many more I'll have before baby arrives! 🙈

mockingbird33 · 07/09/2020 10:29

Haha these are hilarious!!

I dreamt I was babysitting for a friend and I took her baby for a walk, wrapped in a blanket. About 5 minutes into the walk I checked on him to see he'd turned into a bowl of cornflakes. I panicked and started to eat them as they were going soggy. I then wondered how I was going to explain that her son was now a half empty bowl of cereal 😂😂😂😂

mumsofboys · 07/09/2020 20:41

@UserFriendly14 oh god Justin fletcher 🤣 I imagine he'd come on strong

@mockingbird33 can't believe you half ate a baby 🤣

TruffleMama · 08/09/2020 09:36

No weird dreams for me last night.. instead, I vividly dream-relived mine and DPs first four dates!

What a lovely nights sleep for a change! 😊

Time for breakfast, and I just can't bring myself to have cornflakes! 😂

@TruffleMama same here. Peaceful sleep until the 4am toilet trip and couldn't get back off. Bloomin bladder!

Babba2801 · 08/09/2020 17:15

so glad its not just me who has weird dreams.
For the first 3 months i had dreams about murder and violence every single night and they were very vivid.
My neighbour buried his girlfriend under the driveway.
My mam dragged my little sister down a road face down until her face just scraped away.
I found a young lad tied up by his mam in a basement and all his finger nails had been ripped off from where he had tried to escape.

You get the idea. Brutal!
I was so thankful for all the toilet wakings in the night just to end the dreams

@Babba2801 Omg! Your dreams are horrific! I'm glad they eased off after the first 3 months and you didn't have to suffer through them for your entire pregnancy.

I only remember brief details from one dream I had last night...

I was the manager of a large Sports Direct store. I would only allow one song to be piped throughout the store... Take That's "Never Forget"* ..over and over and over!

*sorry, you'll have that stuck in your head all day now! 😂

I had a strange dream last night that I woke up from and haven't been able to get back to sleep since 3am.
I was approached by 2 business men because I grew up near a large park with a small amusement/theme park. They wanted to know how people would feel about them selling it. I had this feeling that because I didn't live in the area anymore then I wouldn't care, but I had a throughly researched argument against the sale as they couldn't guarantee the park wouldn't become another housing estate or retail park and started a campaign in the local newspaper.
I had to Google the park and it's ok. The news article I read from the other month says the park will be open for its 100th birthday next year.

Emmmie · 09/09/2020 08:35

I had a nap today and dreamt that my husband and daughter went to the hospital in order to bring the baby home.I did not join them and believed this to be normal even though I remember knowing that I was pregnant at some point. The baby just happened to be at the hospital without me ever delivering her.

They came back with a baby, I examined her well and even fed her before noticing a wrong name on her little bracelet. Only then did I notice she was actually already 4 months old. We raced back to the hospital and asked where our "real" daughter is.

I woke up pretty shaken😆

kkr168 · 09/09/2020 08:36

I haven't had any weird dreams but have been having birth dreams alot lately. From not making it to the hospital in time & having to give birth in the car, another was a home birth with no midwifes due to being snowed in, only another 11 week of this to go!!
