Since september 2017 cycle vary from 33-36 days.
All my bloods have come back fine, DH sperm slighlty below average, going for another test next month.

I’m so sorry OP. I don’t have any experiences to share, but I can imagine how hard and distressing this journey has been.

Have you spoken to your GP and discussed possible options for assistance?

I really hope you get your good news soon Flowers

Luckylola12 · 04/09/2020 14:18

Thankyou @TheHappyHerbivore our next move is to see what DH results say next month and go from there. I never knew it would be this hard. Whats worse is my friends seem to get pregnant straight away, im so happy for them but its so hard not to be a bit jealous

Mine was a 4 year project, and I'm now feeding my 10 month old. I suffered 5 mc along the journey, and took a year to conceive between some pregnancies. Perhaps not quite the same circumstances but I understand the waiting and uncertainty of whether it will ever happen. It's horrible and becomes all consuming.

Luckylola12 · 04/09/2020 14:37

@carnotaurus thankyou for sharing, and congratulations =) so pleased for you after a very long ttc journey! I think thats the trouble im getting consumed by it all that i feel like its taking over my life! Did you conceive naturally?

MoltenLasagne · 04/09/2020 14:41

I'm currently 2.5 years into TTC and early days with my second pregnancy after a missed miscarriage. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. About 18 months in I had a blood test that showed I was really low in vitamin D and doctor told me to start taking 200 micrograms a day (usual dose is 10-20 micrograms). My acupuncturist also recommended inositol and I've been taking both now for six months.

Since we've been TTC we've had 2 lots of friends that have got married and got pregnant straight away and had their babies already and another lot who got accidentally pregnant and now have a baby too so I totally get the feeling of being happy for them but also gutted.

We've been quite open about the fact things haven't worked for them and the number of people who then say they had similar experiences has been a surprise. Lots and lots of people trying 2 years plus and then naturally conceiving but I guess we've got to balance out all the lucky sods that catch in the first cycle somehow! Best of luck

happylittlechick · 04/09/2020 14:46

I took 18months but the thing that helped me the most was losing weight. It might not apply to you though.
The other thing that really helped was fertility hypnosis. I downloaded an app and listened to it before bed. Helped me conceive my second first go.

Good luck.

carnotaurus · 04/09/2020 14:52

It was natural. I'd seen a few fertility specialists and was on a few different medicines though. IVF wasn't for me because apparently I could conceive (eventually) but the pregnancy wouldn't stick.

If you are starting down the road of tests, that's a good thing. It often takes a while for tests/results/appts (especially if NHS), so you are moving forward. Good luck.

carnotaurus · 04/09/2020 14:56

I second the 'other peoples pregnancy' resentments. I hated that I felt that way, but I think it's a natural emotion. Until I joined the struggling to conceive club I wouldn't have thought how hurtful a pregnancy announcement could be.

J2020 · 04/09/2020 17:52

2 years 3 months TTC for us and currently 23 weeks pregnant. Had all the tests and nothing found to be wrong. I tried everything, preseed, diets, vitamins, acupuncture, you name it and nothing helped. In the end we decided to stop trying in March as we both work in acute hospitals and the covid situation was escalating and here we are!
Hope this offers some hope

LottieDot · 04/09/2020 19:00

Fell pregnant on our 24th month ttc, im currently nearly 11 weeks. We were unexplained infertility as nothing showed as wrong. The month we conceived wed been added to the IVF waiting list so kinda accepted it wasnt going to happen naturally. I'd also just started taking seven seas vitamins that month but that could be a coincidence.

Wishing you lots of luck

Pea1984 · 04/09/2020 19:06

I know exactly how you feel but don’t give up hope. I came off the pill in September 2017, fell pregnant May 2018, miscarried July 2018, referred to fertility clinic in March 2020 after tests showed nothing wrong. Before I had my first appointment I found out I was pregnant and now currently 25 weeks.
We tried all sorts but most recently I started taking Myo-Inisitol to help balance hormones, we used Preseed and made sure we DTD every other day before and during fertile week. Keep going and good luck!

kiwiblue · 04/09/2020 19:15

I know exactly how you feel. We TTC for over 2.5 years, then I got pregnant. Unfortunately miscarried at 12 weeks. Was on the IVF list by this time so had a round of IUI straight after the miscarriage. Was unsuccessful, but got pregnant naturally the following month. DC1 is now 3. When I tried for DC2 I got pregnant first try, I couldn't believe it after what I went through the first time. So there is definitely hope. Good luck!

Houndabouttown · 04/09/2020 20:25

At this point your GP should be referring you. Why do you have to wait a month for your DH’s sperm test?

IamC · 04/09/2020 20:40

We were trying for just about a year.

In the cycle we fell pregnant we threw everything at it: we took the male and female conception vitamins, gave up drinking, used conception gel and widened the window we were trying in. The husband even had lukewarm baths.

Whether it was a coincidence that we conceived or it was a result of our extra efforts I don't know.

I hope you get your positive soon.

Dyra · 04/09/2020 20:49

God I can relate to the being happy, but also completely gutted by pregnancy announcements. Everywhere I turned there were pregnant women and babies as well.

I had been trying for 2 years, had my first fertility appointment, and found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks later. Sadly that pregnancy ended in MC shortly afterwards.

11 months, a PCOS diagnosis, a chunk of weight loss, a dose of Metformin, a dash of Thyroxine, and one dose of Clomid later, I got my second BFP. She turns 1 tomorrow.

It can and does happen. Good luck with it all.

Luckylola12 · 04/09/2020 21:03

It took us over 2.5 years to conceive our daughter. We were classed as unexplained infertility all bloods, scans, sperm samples etc were fine. Started ttc when we were both 27.
We had one round of IVF which failed. 2 months after that we conceived naturally.
Sending all the baby dust your way xxx

kwastell · 04/09/2020 21:24

Sorry you're feeling low. I know the feeling. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant after 2.5 years of trying. Not quite in the safe zone yet, but am feeling confident about this pregnancy.

It's so hard when everyone else seems to get pregnant so easily.

My history:
Started trying for baby #2 and fell pregnant in the first month
Had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks
18 months of ttc and started fertility tests
Got pregnant just as tests started
Another missed miscarriage
Got pregnant after 5 months of ttc
Another miscarriage
Started private investigations as want to move quickly
Got pregnant the next cycle

As soon as I found out I was pregnant this time I hunted down a private recurrent miscarriage specialist who put me on a load of medication. Not sure if that's why it seems to have stuck this time or it's down to chance.

Sending you all the luck ✨

TattyMcBab · 04/09/2020 21:27

Took a year for my first.

My 27 months of trying baby starts school next week. Had no investigations at the time.

My oops one time without a condom (because that’s not how it works for us) is 1.

Good luck. It’s heart breaking.

Daffodil21 · 04/09/2020 21:45

@kwastell how did you find the specialist?

@Luckylola12 no advice I'm afraid as I'm in the same boat Thanks

kwastell · 04/09/2020 21:57

@Daffodil21 tried ringing round the NHS initially - kept getting passed from person to person. Then eventually someone hinted that the NHS couldn't give me what I needed at the moment - I took it they meant try private.

So spoke to some fertility clinics and this doctor was recommended www.novafertilityuk.com/lamiya_mohiyiddeen.html

Ttcjourney2019 · 04/09/2020 22:14

I am so sorry that you are feeling like this, I know how what you are going through.
We were TTC for 17 months and every month is so disheartening when AF arrives.
We had just been referred to infertility by the GP. We DTD everyday from CD5 through to CD21. It was my first month temping and I purchased the tablets suggested by Luisa Zissman, it could have been coincidence but I think it was the tablets and I am 5 weeks pregnant today ! If you haven’t already done so, go onto her instagram, she has received a lot of feedback from ladies TTC for a long time.

Fingers crossed for you!xx
