34 after a year of trying for my first
35 (why dc1 was 4 months) virtually a few weeks after deciding to try again and i was more than a little bit shocked (very happy though) at the speed second time around

7 years. Pregnant with #1, now aged 37.

Reassuring to know there’s a huge variety with no rhyme nor reason.

DH and I are ttc now (just about to knock on 40’s door)

I’ve got 2DC already with ex husband. I conceived first month with them both. (Youngest is 8- so I was early 30’s)

I’ll be testing in a few days but I know DH will be so disappointed if it’s a negative. He seems to be taking it personally and that it must be his fault.

I’ve explained that’s it absolutely not and that the bog standard average time it takes for a couple to conceive is 6 months and that’s for each child.

I explained that based on probability alone, the chances of me conceiving the first month with 3 children would be highly unlikely. That it’s probably my turn to have to wait as that’s the norm.

So it’s nice to hear the various ranges. Puts things in to perspective. So thank you 😊

When not why

Dc 1 age 23 forgot to take my pill once and conceived.
Dc 2 age 28 conceived in the first month of ttc.

DC1 - surprise pregnancy in my teens
DC2 - 1st cycle at 20
DC3 - 2 years, 1 round of IVF at 28
DC4 - Surprise pregnancy at 30, still early days and waiting for a scan to see if I have miscarried though

Ds age 1 it took 8 months of trying and I was 31, now 33 and am pregnant again and got pregnant on our second month trying.

35 3 cycles
37 1 cycle

DS1 3 months ish, I wasn't tracking properly. Age 24
DS2 10/11 cycles, with proper tracking and knowing my exact window each time. Age 28

Age 38, 7 cycles (I'll be 39 when she's born).

Dd1 - 3.5 years, was our first ivf cycle after being diagnosed with infertility. I was 32.
Dd2- 6weeks ish (2nd ivf cycle). I was 35 but used embro from cycle 1 when I was 32.

With my little girl, first time I was 25 :)

I got pregnant straight away with all three, at 32, 36 and 37

4 years, lots of tests, medicated cycles and IVF - finally pregnant at 34 with first!

37 - 2 cycles

DD conceived five weeks after coming off the pill at 27. Accidentally conceived at 34, the one time in seven years that I had sex without checking the calendar first. Apparently I am Little Miss Fertility.

Couple of months didn't 'take', then another couple of months. 40

6 months at 27
8 months at 31

DC1 - 34 - 1st cycle
DC2 - 36 - 1st cycle

1st - 21 years old - was on the pill but had antibiotics for a kidney infection.

2nd - 25 years old. Had switched contraceptives and GP told me that I would be covered. Fell pregnant that first week.

3rd - 30yo - came off contraceptives and pregnant within a month.

I know I'm very lucky. Apparently my fertility is hereditary. Which terrifies me when my girls are teenagers.

DS1 1st cycle age 35
DS2 18 months including a miscarriage after 9 months age 38

Ds1 - 1 month after coming off pill - 34
Ds2 - 1 year - 37

31 - 10 months. I have twins, so maybe they just took a little longer to make

Dc1, third cycle.
Pregnancy two (ended at 11wks), 5th cycle.
Dc2, one time (we literally dtd once that whole month)

I was 25-30 during this.

DD1 - 30 - first month.
DD2 - 33 - second month.
DC3 - 38 - first month.

I'm very lucky!
