Gender, no. But it might be possible to tell the sex if you look closely.

You won't know the baby's gender for years.

MummytoArthur · 11/08/2020 19:07

@JaJaDingDong Oh go away Angry

OP I would say girl judging by the nub x

JaJaDingDong · 11/08/2020 19:09

I'm not going to go away until people get it right.

1990fran · 11/08/2020 19:12

Same thing, tell me how it is otherwise

titsaleena · 11/08/2020 19:12

I would guess the sex of your baby to be female!

BingoGo · 11/08/2020 19:15

I would guess the gender of your baby to be male 💙

Melbs6 · 11/08/2020 19:34

I think it’s a girl

Grumpy19 · 11/08/2020 19:38

I think girl. X

From the ONS website:

The UK government defines sex as:

referring to the biological aspects of an individual as determined by their anatomy, which is produced by their chromosomes, hormones and their interactions generally male or female something that is assigned observed at birth.

The UK government defines gender as:

a social construction relating to behaviours and attributes based on labels of masculinity and femininity; gender identity is a personal, internal perception of oneself and so the gender category someone identifies with may not match the sex they were assigned at birth.

Where an individual may see themselves as a man, a woman, as having no gender, or as having a non-binary gender – where people identify as somewhere on a spectrum between man and woman

Girl

1990fran · 11/08/2020 19:54

correcting people on thier mistakes doesnt make you clever, makes you come accross as quite silly but thanks for the info!

BingoGo · 11/08/2020 19:55

No such thing as non binary or being somewhere in between man and woman, you have your biology (sex/gender) and then you have a personality. A woman being masculine doesn't make her any less of a woman nor does a feminine man make a woman.

Anyway, to stay in topic, congratulations on your baby, OP. We found out the genders of ours and it was exciting but if we have a 3rs child I think we would wait it out. But it is fun to prepare! I see both you and your DP's POV Grin

MrsN2121 · 11/08/2020 20:13

From the skull I would say girl.

espressoontap · 11/08/2020 20:20

I would say girl. Congratulations Smile

I wish people would piss off with the whole 'sex / gender' BS. Does it really matter?

BabyG123 · 11/08/2020 20:43

I can't believe this poor lady has tried to put a nice post up about her baby and some idiots try and correct her.

What losers.

OP I think girls too by the skull

I think the poster correcting gender/sex was a bit mean as we all knew what she meant but come on op you must know it isn't the same thing!

It really does.

But, OP, I provided the info that you asked for, I didn’t correct you, so not sure why you’re calling me silly.

Cantbutwill · 11/08/2020 22:32

Gir!

1990fran · 11/08/2020 22:47

Well to me I have always known them to be same.... on forms I have signed throughout my life sometimes it states gender and option of male female and sometimes sex opt of male female, I have researched it more this afternoon however it is off topic to what my post was about and a bit unnecessary

I didn't realise it was a mistake, I thought it was ignorance.

Women who don't understand the difference between sex and gender need to learn, fast, before women are completely sidelined again.

JamMakingWannaBe · 11/08/2020 23:09

Quote @JaJaDingDong: "Women who don't understand the difference between sex and gender need to learn, fast"

^^ THIS!! Geez folks, this is such an important issue. If your baby is a girl, if we're not careful- and at the moment we're blindly heading this way - when she grows up she'll be sharing changing rooms, toilet facilities and Girl Guide camping tents, all without your knowledge, with biologically born men complete with male sexual organs who self identity as the opposite gender.

daynamechange · 12/08/2020 07:43

Oh ffs another three highjacked. Ignore them Op

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 12/08/2020 07:57

This had calmed down for a while, it's so bloody tedious.
No need for it on a happy excited pregnancy post. And I do not care for the lecture that might come about how this post will eradicate women's rights for good thanks because it won't.

Anyway, girl I think.
Congratulations Thanks
