Hello, I just saw a fab thread on the style boards - "plus size what are you wearing today?" And I was wondering if there are any ladies that are pregnant and struggling to dress their new bodies?

I have no idea what to wear. My body shape is usually large bust and hips small waist I can dress that. However I am quite short and I've gained weight and now The bump has filled up I have no waist! I don't know what to wear or how to wear it.

I'm 20 weeks. What is everyone else wearing ?

I am nearly 19 weeks and have a proper big bump, perils of number 3! I am wearing an over bump short denim skirt and maternity vest top, nothing exciting. I am a jeans/top/cardi or casual dress type of person so have just bought the same but in maternity. I am currently living in shorts/skirt with tops or dresses with short leggings. Come winter I'll add cardis and change to jeggings and add long leggings to the dresses.

peachypetite · 11/08/2020 12:58

I’m living in dresses with no bra in this heat! Thank god for working from home

CurlyT94 · 11/08/2020 12:59

I’m 25 weeks tomorrow got quite the bump but I’m quite chunky normally anyway. Today I’m wearing a missguided maternity co-ord t-shirt and cycling shorts. And my husbands sliders! This has become my uniform for the past few weeks 😊

Emelene · 11/08/2020 13:01

I've just bought some more jojo maman dresses in the sale - they are good for maternity and breastfeeding. I'm 27+5, feeling huge and they've made me feel a bit nice again. 😊

Strawberries4days · 11/08/2020 13:02

I'm 29 weeks and just been wearing loose t-shirt dresses that you get from Primark and have like a loose fabric belt to have some sort of shape. Just recently got maternity leggings from newlook for £15 that's been comfy. I've also been living in baggy black dungarees since they're easier to pull up or down when going to the toilet all the time🙈 just baggy stuff really that can be tied in with a belt if need be!

dixiedo · 11/08/2020 13:07

@CurlyT94 I'm loving the idea of an oversized t shirt and cycling shorts to be honest.

Well today I am not really dressed or I would post a pic.
I'm wearing some big camel coloured tracksuit bottoms (loungewear from Tesco 🤷🏻‍♀️) and a t shirt with slides I'm just cleaning around the house.
I don't know what to wear when I want to look nice. Thanks though it's great to get some inspiration.
I need to do a primark haul haven't been for ages ! X

I am 28 weeks and I am in a stretchy long bodycon dress, but its not very light material so I am roasting. I am planning on going into primark later to see what I can pick up. I am dying in this heat and I have basically nothing except heavy leggings and long tops. Also, my feet are now swelling in the heat, so I need to find some footwear that doesnt feel like its 3 sizes too small.

Pukeymama · 11/08/2020 13:11

Definitely need a thread like this! I'm also 25 weeks tomorrow and each day is a clothing battle. I practically live in one maternity summer dress or leggings (which aren't that comfortable). Haven't felt nice in what I'm wearing in aggggges.

Today it's demon shorts and a maternity T-Shirt, but I feel flustered and redistricted 🤦

I was surprised to see Primark had a maternity PJ section the other day, it's pretty boring but I bought a nighty for birth really and have worn it every night since. (washing when needed of course!) It's so lightweight and keeps me cool.

MsChatterbox · 11/08/2020 13:12

I think you'll look best with something that goes fitted under boobs then flares out 😊

Starlight39 · 11/08/2020 13:20

I'm 17 weeks with my second and seem to have quite a bump already!

today I'm in work wearing black cropped maternity leggings, a black flowy smocky top (non maternity) from monsoon and white sandals.

I bought a few non maternity smock type dresses from New Look and ebay and have been mostly wearing them so far.

Charlottejade89 · 11/08/2020 13:27

I'm wearing a cotton floral dress from primark that I actually bought last time I was pregnant in the heatwave (2018) I havent got much summer clothes to wear that fits me atm, but when the weather turns I plan kn biying some smock dresses (non-maternity just sized up) as they will be useful to wear those first few weeks post partum as well. Also, loungewear is life atm

Rosieeeee · 11/08/2020 13:28

I haven't had to go to work since March so haven't bought many clothes as there's no point round the house. I literally live in maternity vests from peacocks, and either leggings (which I chopped the elastic waist band off as they were getting too tight), shorts or soft baggy harem style pants. My floral ones are the only thing I feel nice in when I have to go out, which thankfully is pretty much only for antenatal appointments! Only problem is having so few things to rotate, is that I can't pack my hospital bag because I'd have nothing left to wear 😂. Definitely have to keep on top of the washing 🙈

October2020 · 11/08/2020 13:30

My pants! 30 weeks, too hot for anything else. Thank goodness for being able to stay at home.

Temple29 · 11/08/2020 13:31

36 weeks but have a fairly small bump. Wearing a green floaty dress from H&M (non maternity) with black shorts underneath in case I flash my underwear at people running around after DS.

Dollywilde · 11/08/2020 13:32

I’m due on Thursday and haven’t made it out of my nightie yet today Grin Going to have a bath in some cold water shortly.

I’ve been living in maxi dresses tbh. Comfort over style at this point!

RowboatsinDisguise · 11/08/2020 13:39

I’m 28 weeks and literally just wear whatever I can get on tbh. I went through my wardrobe yesterday and bagged up anything that I won’t be able to wear until at least next spring/summer (if ever - some of it is very optimistically sized 😂) and it was very liberating.

Today it’s a pair of pale blue linen shorts with an elasticated waist that I bought from Peacocks in my last pregnancy. They’re not maternity but a size up works fine. I did have a (non-maternity again) blue patterned sleeveless blouse from TK Maxx on but I’m now just sitting around in a teal leopard print bikini top from ASOS.

Mc3209 · 11/08/2020 13:39

I've completely switched to maternity clothing, I find it fits better and doesn't have tight bands that sit over the belly or dig underneath. Until this week I've been going to the office, so wearing mainly summer maternity dresses - Seraphine and JoJo Maman; now I am WFH for the foreseeable - wearing H&M maternity shorts (sooooo comfy) and maternity tops. Today it's a new look polka dot top from New Look, and other choices are Asda maternity tops and a tunic or two from Seraphine. I find it's a bit too hot for leggings, so I am not wearing them as much in the last few weeks. I am 28 weeks.

T-shirt or vest with a stretchy maternity skirt and sandals. I'm trying not to buy anything new as I had a load of stuff from my first pregnancy but it was more for winter than summer!

HarrietM87 · 11/08/2020 13:57

Thankfully my non maternity summer wardrobe is loose tent like dresses anyway so I’ve just been wearing those (love you COS). I’m 28 weeks and feel huge and so flipping sweaty!

Wankpuffin · 11/08/2020 14:22

Tent sizes t shirt and pants.

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and very fat anyway so I’m boiling to death!

Mc3209 · 11/08/2020 14:25

@HarrietM87 can I just say that I loooove COS too!

whattododo · 11/08/2020 14:29

I'm wearing this and I love it...I got about 5 dresses and I love them all. Reasonably priced too!

Maternity - What are you wearing today?
MaverickDanger · 11/08/2020 14:31

22 weeks and got a bit of a B bump, so feel like I just look fat and not pregnant yet.

Most of my summer wardrobe is floaty tops with oversized shorts that I belt, so I’ve been getting away with that in the hot weather.

I’ve bought a pair of maternity shorts from H&M and a nice top also H&M, as well as a cheapo maternity swimsuit that I am living in currently.

Love Leggings do amazing leggings. I’m not a dress person at all, and can’t seem to get on with maternity jeans, so no idea what I’ll wear when I get bigger & the weather gets cooler.

My ribcage has expanded and genuinely just feel flabby! Oversized clothing probably doesn’t flatter me right now, but I feel so uncomfortable in tighter clothes, def not one to “show off” the bump.

alphabetti · 11/08/2020 14:34

Working from home so wearing primark joggers and a vest top. I’m 23wks and my bump getting bigger each week. It’s my partners birthday so we going for meal out this eve and I have a loose fitting short sleeved black dress that used to put belt around to pull into shape but the belt has been well and truly ditched!!

Got couple pinafore dresses that wear with top underneath that are my usual size just they were bit baggy before but now I’m thinking won’t fit much longer! Got a pair of maternity jeans that fit perfectly round legs but still spacious round bump part so keep needing to pull them up (no chance of fitting into my usual jeans) Then it’s leggings with a longer top and cardigan. I’m glad not working in office and prob not going to be back until after maternity leave so least don’t need office clothes but think will need more Maternity clothes but going to wait until sept when heading more for autumn as feel no point buying summer stuff when baby due beginning Dec
