Hello, I just saw a fab thread on the style boards - "plus size what are you wearing today?" And I was wondering if there are any ladies that are pregnant and struggling to dress their new bodies?

I have no idea what to wear. My body shape is usually large bust and hips small waist I can dress that. However I am quite short and I've gained weight and now The bump has filled up I have no waist! I don't know what to wear or how to wear it.

I'm 20 weeks. What is everyone else wearing ?

30 weeks here and on the fifth consecutive day of a heatwave - I've stopped wearing a bra, and am floating around in what used to be 'beach holiday clothes'. So today is an ASOS maxi (non maternity) and tomorrow will probably be some kind of kaftan!

Have stopped caring if I look professional enough for work video calls!

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 11/08/2020 17:32

Maternity cotton dress and Snags chub rub shorts!

Mollymarvelous70 · 11/08/2020 17:45

32 weeks , Cheap and cheerful new look maternity dress. Bit of a synthetic material but light and cheap enough I’m happy to get slouch about in it .

Went out for a posh dinner last night and dressed ‘up’ in a ASOS maternity dress and I felt like a queen having slobbed about at Home for so long

34 weeks and elevating a JoJo strappy black dress with inbuilt bra that I got from eBay. I think it might actually be a nightie but am WFH so it’s fine and just put a loose, very light shirt over for video calls.

It took me ages to adjust to dressing my new body shape as I was wearing a lot of high-waisted trousers with shorter/cropped tops or dresses etc with a cinched waist the last few years. Waist has disappeared for now!

Cycle shorts or maternity leggings with a longer T-shirt have become a staple and I love a stretchy t-shirt style dress. Maternity t-shirts/vests with the ruching at the sides (H&M do good basics) are really good for emphasising the bump during that stage when it feels like you look more fat than pregnant.

*wearing not elevating

I’m working from home but on a lot of conference calls so still dressing smartly, albeit in lighter fabrics because of the heatwave. I wear a lot of Isabella Oliver and Seraphine.

Today I have on a cobalt blue IO drapey dress, normal jewellery and flip flops (hidden from view Grin)

I hate being scruffy at the best of times, so even with a big bump and in the heat I’ve been wearing nice things. Keeps me feeling like me!

RowboatsinDisguise · 12/08/2020 16:24

I’ve gone straight from pjs (I didn’t sleep in them - far too hot! Just threw on shorts and a T-shirt to go and do the chickens this morning) to a bikini. I haven’t put anything else on all day and don’t plan to.

Living in a jo jo stripey dress, then the next 2 days while I wash it, it maternity denim shorts and a black maternity vest top but I'm finding them a squeeze now I'm 33 weeks so while it's hot I'm living in my nightdress. I found a grey nightie from Asda with pink spots, and even in my usual size I can fit my big bump in it with plenty of room, highly recommend it for anyone looking for a labour or pregnancy nightie without paying silly amounts for a maternity one!

Lilice · 12/08/2020 20:55

33 weeks and living in new look and h&m maternity dresses during the heatwave. When the weather is cooler, I wear leggings and tops

Mc3209 · 12/08/2020 21:00

I've tried wearing one of my previously loose casual pre-pregnancy shirts today, thinking it will be fine with shorts. Well, I just ended up looking like Winnie the Pooh, so back to maternity tops I go..

roarfeckingroarr · 12/08/2020 21:08

31 + 3. Loose dresses with no bra every day. Finding dresses that don't make it obvious that I'm not wearing said bra isn't that easy with a huge bump and monster tits.

penguin423 · 12/08/2020 21:28

20+5 weeks and I ordered some maternity jeans last week as most of mine were uncomfortable. I was wearing a pair from Dorothy Perkins today. They were so comfortable! I am just wearing normal T-shirts in one size bigger for now (a benefit of losing weight and keeping some clothes!).

dixiedo · 13/08/2020 10:12

I need something to wear for a lunch on Saturday and then dinner on Saturday night. I was hoping for jeans and a nice top (😉) but in this weather I don't think jeans are an option at all
Seraphine seems to be really popular too !

Today I have a ruched black dress from Isabella Oliver and sandals. Light weight and nice bump support.

Going to yoga tonight and not sure what I have that will fit Hmm

RowboatsinDisguise · 13/08/2020 11:38

Colourful stripey h+m maternity dress with snag chub rub shorts underneath and a skinny brown leather belt because otherwise I look like I have no waist at all and might as well just be a walking circus tent.

dixiedo · 13/08/2020 11:55

@RowboatsinDisguise hahah that made me laugh! I think I need to invest in the chub rub shorts too.

I'd love to wear a dress but I hate the feel of my thighs rubbing together/touching. They don't normally do this so it grosses me out.
So I'm wearing black leggings and an orange loose (well not so loose now) thin tunic type top. But my legs are hot

RowboatsinDisguise · 13/08/2020 13:15

@dixiedo get some! They are great!

@Frazzlerock chub rub shorts are the answer! They are thin tights type material so stop your legs sticking but don’t feel too hot.

Frazzlerock · 13/08/2020 14:19

@RowboatsinDisguise I had a look at those, assuming they fit under the bump? I quite like over bump as under bump often dig in a bit. But might be worth a try for £7.99 (I think they were)

RowboatsinDisguise · 13/08/2020 14:32

I’m wearing mine comfortably over the bump at 28 weeks (and I am honest to god massive) with plenty of stretch left in them. I just bought a size up. I was a size 10 pre pregnancy and I’m wearing a D in snag sizes.

Frazzlerock · 13/08/2020 14:46

Amazing! I will order a D then as was also a 10 to begin with but have a HUGE bump at 25 weeks

Frazzlerock · 13/08/2020 14:50

Ordered black and raspberry pie Grin
