I love reading these kinds of threads but they make me feel guilty because I'm eating so much at the minute! (32 weeks pregnant). I'm just constantly hungry and craving sweet food particularly.

I find I have to have a two course breakfast or else I feel faint and lightheaded. Haven't been weighing myself but I'm worried I'm putting on excess weight, was a healthy weight pre-pregnancy. I'm trying to cut back on my snacking (chocolate, normally) and instead eating little and often but with healthier foods. My measurements jumped up lots at my midwife appointment last week so I'm slightly paranoid about my eating habits.

Today I've eaten:
Breakfast - 3x weetabix with milk and some sugar and then a yoghurt drink
Lunch: 6 (!) crackers with smoked salmon and light Philadelphia
Dinner: pesto pasta and chicken breast

Snacks:
Greek yoghurt with banana and blueberries
Apple
3 lines of mint aero (craving this so much at the minute!)
Bag of hula hoops

Will probably have some hummous later on Blush

Anyone else constantly hungry?!

Me! But I'm only 16 weeks! 🙈

Breakfast - 2 and a half weetabix with a bit of sugar

Snack -apple

Lunch-pasta with tomatoes and other veggies

Snack - crisps(few too many out of a sharer bag)

Dinner- lasagne

And now snacking on dairy milk but will have an orange later

Also constantly hungry all the time 😂

WindsorBlues · 21/05/2020 20:11

7 weeks.

08.00 - Ginger Buscuit
10.00 - Slice of seeded toast with Jam
13.00 - small slice Chicken & Ham pie left over from last night's dinner
19.00 - small bowl of homemade chicken curry

Snack: white chocolate and cookie Magnum.

2 Glasses of Orange Juice 1 Litre water throughout the day

lustforlife · 21/05/2020 20:13

@biscuit13 glad it's not just me!

Seems like me you have some chocolate and then 'balance' it out with some fruit Wink I definitely feel less guilty if I've taken my vitamins and had some of my 5 a day!

Everything. I literally ate everything today. 10 weeks, nausea and an awful taste in my mouth mean im constantly eating.

lustforlife · 21/05/2020 20:36

@WindsorBlues you're doing well to eat as balanced as you are. At 7 weeks all I could stomach was toast and cheese sandwiches!

@Hatepickinganame Grin
my first trimester eating habits were terrible!

23 weeks.

Muesli with blueberries and yoghurt

Ham and prawn cocktail crisp sandwich

Thai red curry with rice and a fruit corner.

I'm supposed to be eating little and often and cutting down on sugar and carbs due to gestational diabetes last time. But so busy with work from home and childcare I don't have time to think about it.

Last time round I ate jam with everything until I late gestational diabetes diagnosis. Not sure if that was the cause or the effect!

My baby is measuring really big so I’m to be as healthy as pos but I love sugar and it’s so hard. I’m 36 weeks.

Breakfast -2 slices of whole meal and 2 boiled eggs

Snack-wedge if cheese

Lunch-asparagus and spinach soup with 4 crackers and lots of cheese

Snack-quite a few handfuls of crisps (somehow I justify crisps because I’m less addicted to salt than sugar!)

Dinner-chicken, garlic, potatoes, carrots and broccoli
Pudding -natural yogurt with berries

Wudgy · 21/05/2020 20:57

Today Cereal and milk for breakfast- followed by a slice of granary toast at 10am. Lunch was tomato soup and bread roll and butter. Dinner homemade curry and rice. Meals quite carby!
Snacks - BIG PROBLEM, 2 apples, strawberries, various bits of chocolate, breadsticks, crisps and tonight two cookies!
Some days are better than others but a lot of snacking and desire for sweet stuff is crazy!

My diet has been atrocious as everything makes me 🤢

14 weeks today. And I did well actually

Toast and dairy leave light for breakfast 1 slice

Ice poles (stop me puking)

One toastie for lunch with onion and sweetcorn

Baked potato with philly light, leftover bbq steak, salad and a corn on the cob.

Piece of bday cake!

Snacking this evening on raw veg with philly light and breadsticks.

I think the raw veg has cracked it for me. I was eating almost none as cooked was 🤢. Raw seems to be fine. Carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.

Had a lot of takeaway up till now!

Bekka94 · 21/05/2020 21:30

RosyCheeks93 · 21/05/2020 21:31

Breakfast: Cocopops (I know, I'm a child)
Lunch: Pasta with a creamy sauce for lunch
Snacks: Sesame seed bagel with lots of butter, little bit of chocolate, handful of Popchips
Dinner: Battered sausage and chips from the chippy

My god I am going to be colossal by the end of this.

13 weeks pregnant and craving chocolate all the time (I've had the least amount of chocolate in a long time today!). Since coming into my 10th week where my nausea eased up, I've been a total gannet. I just eat soooo many carbs and I am expanding by the second.

You're all making me hungry! Now I'm craving croissants and ice lollies Grin in all seriousness, I'm getting quite paranoid about gestational diabetes, do all pg women get tested for this? I'm 32 weeks and haven't had a test for this, just have my wee dipped each appointment. Really need to work on cutting the sugar out of my diet. Hard to do when that's all I'm craving...

lustforlife · 21/05/2020 21:56

@Bekka94 I'm just as bad. Lost count of how many mint aero share bars I've eaten throughout this pregnancy Blush

PoodlesAreMySpiritAnimal · 21/05/2020 22:13

What haven’t I eaten?!! Grin Not even sorry! Ha ha!!

I’ve done an awful lot of gardening all day and I tend to need to eat a lot to avoid feeling dizzy or ravenously hungry but I tend to eat and then burn the calories off really as I’m very active, even at 30 weeks’ pregnant.
I eat proper meals and then have probably six snacks on top of that. E.g a hot cross bun, toast, chocolate, ice lolly, crackers, cake, yogurt with berries, fruit, etc. I do eat a fair bit of sweet stuff as I’ve got a shocking sweet tooth during pregnancy but I’ve come off a fit and active lifestyle and I know I’ll go back to my old ways of eating well and working out regularly - so I’m just going with the flow in the meantime. Have stopped weighing myself because the number was staggering but I haven’t really gained weight anywhere other than bust, bump and bum!

One thing I’m struggling with is waking up at 4am each morning feeling ravenously hungry and having to get up for a snack because I can’t get back to sleep otherwise. It’s not much fun. But probably good practice for waking through the night!!

@lustforlife I think some hospitals do a routine gestational diabetes screening test at 28 weeks which is sort of a mini less intense version of the full two hour GTT. If you fail that then you have to take the full test. Having said that I also know lots of hospitals that don’t do the screening test on women unless there is a concern-eg big baby, higher BMI before pregnancy, older maternal age, certain ethnic background.... At my hospital they screen everyone -I passed that but a few weeks later my babies belly was off the scale so I had to do the full GTT.
