I love reading these kinds of threads but they make me feel guilty because I'm eating so much at the minute! (32 weeks pregnant). I'm just constantly hungry and craving sweet food particularly.

I find I have to have a two course breakfast or else I feel faint and lightheaded. Haven't been weighing myself but I'm worried I'm putting on excess weight, was a healthy weight pre-pregnancy. I'm trying to cut back on my snacking (chocolate, normally) and instead eating little and often but with healthier foods. My measurements jumped up lots at my midwife appointment last week so I'm slightly paranoid about my eating habits.

Today I've eaten:
Breakfast - 3x weetabix with milk and some sugar and then a yoghurt drink
Lunch: 6 (!) crackers with smoked salmon and light Philadelphia
Dinner: pesto pasta and chicken breast

Snacks:
Greek yoghurt with banana and blueberries
Apple
3 lines of mint aero (craving this so much at the minute!)
Bag of hula hoops

Will probably have some hummous later on Blush

Anyone else constantly hungry?!

Yesterday:

Breakfast - bowl of shreddies with semi skimmed milk
Lunch - toasted cheese sandwich and salad leaves
Dinner - 2 pitta breads with vegetable and lamb skewers
Snacks - a bar of dark chocolate, handful of Haribo Blush

Plenty of veg yesterday but pretty bad on the sugar front. Will try and be better today...
28 weeks pregnant.

@lustforlife

I had a late Gestational Diabetes diagnosis last time.
Bump measurement was on my line but I was having extra scans due to my thyroid and the baby was big on the scans. Had GTT at about 28 weeks but came back fine. But baby still getting too big so they got me to start monitoring my blood sugars after eating and they were high. This was around 34 weeks so it was all abit late!
My problem was big carb heavy meals as soon as I reduced the carbs I managed to get sugars under control. Induced a week early over the giant baby but he was 7lbs 7 so not that big in the end. I really want to avoid being induced this time so trying to be good.
They're not doing GTT at my hospital and are doing an extra blood test at 28 weeks but this never picked it up for me last time. I've still got my test kit so could start monitoring bloods again.
I think little and often is the safest option!

I'm 31+5 and I eat everything if it's not nailed down. Actually, I probably would still give it a go.

Yesterday I had

Breakfast: orange juice, cup of tea and two yoghurts.
Dinner: pot noodle
Tea: lamb shoulder, peas and mash potato

Snack: THREE Kinder buenos because I have ZERO self control and they were just there... but not for long!!!

I find I'm sooooo hungry, but only for certain foods. Basically only hungry for crap. I'd eat chinese every day if I could. 😶

I'm only 6 weeks but I am a lot more hungry than normal already!

Yesterday
Breakfast - porridge with fruit
Snack - natural yogurt with strawberries
Lunch - homemade egg fried rice and prawns
snack - toast
dinner - spaghetti in a tomato sauce.
LOADS of water and ginger tea

My portions were huge ooops

lustforlife · 22/05/2020 14:06

@mouse1234567 that's interesting, my baby's stomach has always looked huge on my scans but they've never said anything. My midwife also said they won't do a test unless there are risk factors etc, but I'm classes as low risk. Will just have to keep watching what I'm eating and try to eat smaller portions. Did you end up being diagnosed with GD?

@Gastonimo thanks for the info! Definitely trying to stick to little and often. My growth increased quite a bit at my 31 week appointment and my midwife said if this continues they will get me a growth scan. This is my first and I really don't want to be induced either, especially after reading that the weight predictions are often very inaccurate! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

@lovelyjubbly12 I'm the same, I've had to stop buying snacks because I'd rather eat chocolate than a healthy meal! Think the key is to not go food shopping while hungry Grin
