So everyone knows people love to judge and comment on what pregnant women do. Well screw that, let's hear what you've done "wrong", unpopular options, whatever the hell you want to bitch about people weighing in on!

Although please try and keep it judgement free as this is just a lighthearted post to make us all feel a little bit better in an option laden time. Halo

I'll start.....today I over indulged on coffee and stole a few mouthfuls of my boyfriends beer. And it was glorious Brew

I have a mini bottle of chardonnay in the fridge ....might well have it now!

FriedasCarLoad · 08/05/2020 17:59

My first pregnancy, I averaged about a litre of coca-cola a day... Full fat, full sugar, the works!

This time I never took the vitamins including the folic acid - I didn't find out about the pregnancy in time. I've also been gardening in bare hands most days.

Pinktruffle · 08/05/2020 18:12

@justtb Seabrook Ready Salter crisps and hummous have become a favourite. As have chip shop chips, I could happily eat them everyday with lots of salt and vinegar.

ohmysense · 08/05/2020 18:26

Love this thread!
I was making a cake the other day, and my favourite part is eating the leftover raw batter off the bowl once I put the cake in the oven. It had 4 raw eggs in it but I just couldn't resist! The eggs did have the red lion stamp but I was thinking to myself 'What are you doing, it's not worth the risk!' It totally was worth it though.
Had a packet of chorizo-like sausages the other week as well. I had a cursory glance at the packet, saw the words 'hot smoked' and was like 'it'll be fine'... I have no idea whether it makes any difference, I was too afraid to google it.
I'm having a cup of my favourite tea with thyme every now and again, even though herbal teas are a no-no. Again, have been reluctant to google thyme in pregnancy, as I just don't want to know.

lockdownpregnancy · 08/05/2020 19:10

@ohmysense I make cakes as a side business and once the cake mixture is in the oven, I'm straight in that bowl, eating the left over mixture before I wash the bowl up! Haha!! Sooooooo yummy!
I also have a thing for cereal! Can't get enough! 😋😋😋

GaaaaarlicBread · 08/05/2020 19:19

Bare minimal exercise as I just want to sleep, eating far too many crisps and the odd lucozade 🤫 first time mum here so just doing what I can to deal with the anxiety of it all!!

Bienentrinkwasser · 08/05/2020 19:22

I my last pregnancy I had a brie and bacon baguette, a glass of champagne, a rare steak sandwich, and never counted caffeine (but probably never or rarely went over guidelines tbh). I also took a grand total of about three pregnancy vitamins. I also did a lot of exercise once my sickness had calmed down, a lot of people seemed to think that was bad. I swam breaststroke loads too! 😂

This pregnancy I have taken no vitamins at all (hyperemesis for a second time so it is really hard in my defense!). I’m basically living on carbs because I don’t feel up to eating much. I plan to run until I physically can’t, and then I’ll get back in he gym. I’m also planning a VBAC in a birth centre rather than obstetric unit.

I’m a terrible selfish mother 🤷‍♀️

Bienentrinkwasser · 08/05/2020 19:24

Oh and we have hens so my eggs aren’t lion stamped and I still eat them raw/undercooked.

ohmysense · 08/05/2020 19:28

@lockdownpregnancy Literally the best part of making a cake! Grin

lockdownpregnancy · 08/05/2020 19:28

Just to add, I've just ordered £25 worth of chocolate and sweets from Amazon Prime!!!
Seeing as though I've just devoured my last packet of Haribo I must stock up! 😝
I'll get diagnosed with gestational diabetes next week, after my scan and won't be able to eat any of them! 😝😝😝

MammytoElla · 08/05/2020 19:35

@lockdownpregnancy also to reassure you that gestational diabetes isn't cause by eating sweets. It's all to do with hormones! You can enjoy your treats 😊

lockdownpregnancy · 08/05/2020 19:39

@MammytoElla really?!?!?!?!
Yaaaaaaaasssss!!! I'll crack open the milky ways now then! Haha! 😂😂😂

Saraj09876 · 08/05/2020 19:41

Refreshing to read a thread where people aren't confessing to 'accidentally not washing their salad before eating' lol

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2020 19:48

I drank wine with my pregnancies, not loads but an occasional glass. With ds3 I ate all the banned foods: blue cheese, pate, prawns...

With ds1 I would drink the vinegar out of pickled beetroot. I thought he'd come out purple and I had the most horrific heartburn

MammytoElla · 08/05/2020 19:51

@lockdownpregancy yes indeed. I've had it (didn't fit into the criteria) and joined a group (a lot of those women didn't fit into the criteria also) . Consultant said it's all down to you placenta and it suppressing your insulin production. Not eating sweets etc
Enjoy your Milky Way!

toomuchteaandcake · 08/05/2020 21:56

@Saraj09876 so true! Or someone who had a cup of tea three days ago

Thatsanicepear · 08/05/2020 22:26

I had one cigarette at a dreadful wedding when I was 15 weeks. Just one and then no more at all. I felt terrible about it but my midwife told me that only one wouldn't do any harm but not to do it again. I also had one half pint once a week in my second and third trimesters.

BeMorePacific · 08/05/2020 23:50

I got 50% off Hotel Chocolat (NHS discount) and just spent £52 on chocolate... roll on 13th of May!! x

excitednerves · 09/05/2020 02:10

Waitrose do a salt beef sub with cheese and pickles, I’ve had a few of those when pregnant. A few shandies towards the end of my last pregnancy when we had the heatwave last summer. So much junk food!

CoolNoMore · 09/05/2020 04:46

@ohmysense and @lockdownpregnancy

I made cookie dough, ate some. As we're now living in Australia, thought I should at least google whether or not eggs are safe.

They are not. There was an egg-based salmonella outbreak in my state, via the supermarket I bought the eggs from last year.

I hope it goes without saying that I ate the rest of that cookie dough, but refused to let my 2 year old have any. At least I'm a good parent to one of my kids Hmm

I have since stopped bothering to put eggs in cookie dough. These days they don't make it to the oven anyway...

grey12 · 09/05/2020 04:58

Picking my kids up Hmm according to my family I shouldn't do that..... yes of course they're both under 4 as if I'm not going to love on them!!

MrsRose2018 · 09/05/2020 05:29
  • approx about 1 McDonalds every 2 weeks pre lockdown
  • no exercise since lockdown
  • small glass of red wine and a baked Camembert at approx 16 weeks
  • a small 75cl bottle of Prosecco today - it’s my “baby shower” with my husband 😂
  • calling my unborn baby a dick/twat/bastard (Tbf he tried to break out of his waters at 25 weeks, I have SPD and I had HG during my first trimester)
MrsRose2018 · 09/05/2020 05:32

Oh and I’m a Diet Coke crack addict!

lockdownpregnancy · 09/05/2020 08:56

@MrsRose2018 I think you're safe with the name calling, as long as you don't call your child that after you've given birth 😂😂😂
I'd do anything for a glass of Prosecco, especially in this is weather!
My street had a brilliant social distancing VE Day party yesterday and everyone was drinking and I didn't have a drop! 😭😭😭 I can't wait until he goes back to work so I can raid the Rose wine and Prosecco in my cupboard without him knowing! Haha! 😝😝

Mc3209 · 09/05/2020 09:14

Exercise? What exercise?
Living on crisps, pasta, and potatoes.
Eating raw left over cake mix - best thing ever!
