If you've had a cesarean did you go home within 24 hours?

I am having a c-section in July and am obviously a little anxious about the hospital stay afterwards. I'm aware that a number of things could prevent me from going home as quickly as I'd like. But if everything goes smoothly and baby and I are fine, will they let me go home within 24 hours?

Have you had a c-section and been able to go home within a really short period of time?

I was 2 nights for each of mind, but they gave me.thr choice to go home after 24hrs or to stay in the extra night, and I quite liked postnatal and wanted to err on the side of caution each time. Obviously it's about different with Covid though.

I had an elective c section yesterday. The op was at 1pm, DH was allowed to stay in recovery with me until it was time to go to the ward, which was about 6pm.
No partners or visitors on the ward, which was wonderful if I'm honest. The peace and quiet really helped DD and I establish breastfeeding. If I needed anything, I just had to press the buzzer and someone came pretty much straight away.
My catheter was taken out at 6am this morning and I was encouraged to move about. Baby's checks were done after lunch, and we were pretty much ready to go, but had to wait for paperwork. We were discharged at 4.30 in the end.
DH brought the car seat to just outside the ward, it was then brought to me, baby strapped in and bags and baby delivered to DH to be taken to the car. I limped behind!
It was a pretty ok experience. You forget all about covid when you're in there with your precious baby.

I could have but asked to stay as I was struggling with breastfeeding (shouldn’t have bothered, they were too busy to help)

Just to say mine was emergency section but in the shower myself 4 hours after and would walk to the car carrying baby within 12 hours
