Handhold please. 27 weeks and bleeding

Just that. Currently in hospital, after having sudden bleeding starting at about 10pm. 27 weeks pregnant, phoned the hospital midwife, who told me to call 999.

Ambulance turned up within 5 mins, put a cannula in and took me straight to the assessment center/labour ward.

Baby heartbeat is fine, but having tightenings, and a test for showing possible premature labour came back positive.

Been scanned, don't think the blood is from the placenta or cord, but it is quite watery. Going to be given antibiotics and steroid injection asap, then reassessed in the morning, including testing for amniotic fluid.

On my own, husband looking after our 3yo DD, and in any case, not allowed in with me anyway. Had 2 losses in the last year, and am so scared something will happen to this one too.

Oh I just read your whole thread with bated breath. Thinking of you and praying for a safe delivery of a healthy baby.

I was born at 34 weeks and was fine, and have never had any side effects from it.

Please keep us updated, so many of us have been keeping up with this thread! So excited for you, you've done so well and had such a great positive attitude throughout. Nearly baby time!

Good luck with birth. I had a baby at 34 weeks. Everything gets much less risk after 34 weeks. Baby will still likely need some time in NICU so make sure you get some support for that too. It can be very emotional.

@Vebrithien, oh my goodness I can't believe that in my early morning scroll through MN I found your thread. We were both in a regular chat in another corner of MN for a while.

So, between 5am and 7am, with an epidural, went from 2cm to fully dilated. Had to immediately phone DH, who rushed in. I could feel the need to push, as he arrived in the car park.
DH got into the room, took my hand, and baby Edward was born in 3 massive pushes.
Breathing all on his own, lots of cries at birth, 4 lb 9oz at 34w 1d. Eyes open, lots of hair.
Had delayed cord cutting, then a cuddle each, and he had to then be taken to NICU for tests.
He's still breathing unaided, just a feeding tube and a bit of heat.
Unfortunately, my shite of a placenta decided that it didn't want to detach, after threatening to do so over the last 7 weeks.
Had to go to theatre for a manual removal, which took a lots of anesthesia. Lost about 2 pints of blood.
DH is with our DS () and I'm on the antenatal ward, when I'll hopefully be able to see them both soon. Not been seen by anyone in 45 mins though.
