Hi all, I am brand new here. I found out on Thursday that I am pregnant and after trying for 4 years, was absolutely thrilled.

It’s Saturday today and for some reason today I am feeling terrified. My sore boobs seem to have stopped and I have no other symptoms at all so I’m petrified that I’m not pregnant anymore. Perhaps it’s irrational I don’t know.

I want to enjoy this time so much but it’s all I have ever wanted and so I’m so nervous that it’s going to go wrong. I feel stupid but every time I go to the toilet I am checking the paper for blood!!

Someone please help me to calm down.

Thanks in advance xx

Congrats ladies!!! So happy for you all. What are your expected due dates?

I have been out and bought another two packs of tests this morning, I just took the clear blue one which tells you how many weeks you are and I’m SO relieved to say it was still saying positive and 3 weeks (I am 5 weeks tomorrow). God I’m so relieved I cried lol.

I hope everyone is feeling okay? Is anyone else like me and only have sore boobs and nothing else?

X

You realise not having your period is a symptom too yes? And that before early home tests women went 2-3 months without periods before pregnancy was queried/suspected, it's normal not to have very obvious symptoms so incredibly early.

Dav87 · 24/11/2019 13:16

@Littleseed2020 I’m going to do exactly the same this week, get a clear blue digital - I told my husband this morning and he looked at me like I was crazy! But it would definitely make me feel better to see that 3+ haha!

I’ve still got sore boobs but they are coming and going, feeling sick but not actually been sick yet - thought I was going to have to do a mad dash to the toilet in Sainsbury’s earlier but it passed Smile

Still having cramps and shooting pains which is really scary and making me anxious, wish I could just relax a bit!

Happy Sunday all xx

@littleseed2020 in my last pregnancy I didn’t have sore boobs or morning sickness!! A lot of the time I couldn’t tell that I was pregnant, but it didn’t worry me.
This time I have really really sore boobs (and a toddler jumping on them) and morning sickness.
I think I preferred last time!!

pottypotamus · 24/11/2019 13:49

Woohoo!! @Littleseed2020 such a relief seeing that isn't it!

Littleseed2020 · 24/11/2019 20:09

@Falafel19 lol yes that’s true 🤣

Can I join please?! I also got my BFP on Thursday hooray!

It's been a hell of a journey. We tried for over a year then got referred to the fertility team. I then had a laparoscopy and they did some unsticking of my insides (Envypuke!) and lasered off stage 3 endo.

7 weeks later I was preg! We were beyond ecstatic but it ended in mc 💔💔💔💔💔 this was April and I've spent the rest of the year pretty depressed.

Anywho, this week was my original 'due' date and af due too so I thought I'd get all the sadness out the way on one day and then have lots of drinks at the weekend to drown my sorrows!

Shockingly I got my BFP!!!! I used a FRER the day before af was due and it came up positive after about 10 seconds! I tested again the next day with another FRER and CB, same happened again 😊

I'm beyond terrified and have had so much mild pain, I can only assume it's things stretching about in there. I was comforted to read a lot of you are having the same so hopefully we can all support each other.

Sorry for the essay! X

squirrelnutkins1 · 24/11/2019 21:05

@LillyLeaf I recognise your name from other threads. Congrats 💕

Dav87 · 25/11/2019 17:32

How is everyone feeling today?

I had to go into the office today for the first time since my BFP, was so strange sat there and no one knew, had to stop myself talking about it a few times as it’s obviously all I’m thinking about!

Still got some cramps like period pains, feels like AF is about to arrive any second! And a pain that feels like a stitch on my left hand side but not too worried as it’s quite mild. Boobs are still sore and felt quite nauseous on the train ride into work this morning!

Hope you’re all doing okay! x

AliceAbsolum · 25/11/2019 18:03

Hi everyone,
Reading here is like reading about myself! So tough isn't it. I took 4 years and 3 rounds of IVF to get my first bfp and I'm 6+4 today. Omg the wait for the 6 week scan was the worst. I was going crazy. Then 10 hours after the scan I started spotting... Its stopped and is fine and I'm convinced it was all the rummaging around. Terrifying though. I was quite angry actually as I only had 10 hours of peace. Wasn't really knicker checking before but of course I am now.

Tempted to have a scan at 9 weeks as it's over the tummy and 5 weeks til the 12 week one seem very very far away.

LillyLeaf · 25/11/2019 18:54

@squirrelnutkins1 I recognize you too, congratulations. We've had a hell of a year, hopefully this is our time, although I'm struggling to remain hopeful.

@Dav87 it's so strange walking around knowing this secret that no know else knows. I'm really struggling to focus at work.

@AliceAbsolum congratulations. I think I'll be having a fair few scans although my drugs are so expensive I don't really want to pay for scans too.

I just really wish I had some smack to the face symptoms to make me feel better. Only 5+1 so I know it's early but come on... Still over a week until my scan.

squirrelnutkins1 · 25/11/2019 20:29

@LillyLeaf it is really hard to keep positive and I feel like I don't want to allow myself to get excited. I know in reality you can't jinx yourself but I feel like we (me and DH) can't really talk about it yet.

Congrats to everyone by the way everyone 💐

squirrelnutkins1 · 25/11/2019 20:51

When did people make their midwife booking appointment? I've not phoned up yet.

LillyLeaf · 25/11/2019 20:57

@squirrelnutkins1 I'll probably wait until after my scan or the next one. I booked appointments too early previously and it's not been nice cancelling them. I wonder at what point we'll allow ourselves to feel excited? 20weeks maybe?

pottypotamus · 25/11/2019 21:31

@squirrelnutkins1
I haven't self-referred yet. I think if I make it to about 7 weeks-ish I'll send a self-referral.

I'm hoping to have a private scan just before Xmas at about 9 weeks. Hopefully is all is well -fingers crossed! then I'll have some chance of making it to the 12 week scan without being a complete wreck!

squirrelnutkins1 · 26/11/2019 03:37

@LillyLeaf yeah having to cancel last time was pretty crappy 💔 I wonder the same thing re weeks. Here's hoping for us all 🙏🏻

@pottypotamus I was thinking the same re a private scan just before Xmas. Think it's about £50 locally. I had to cancel that appointment last time as well urgh the minefield of emotions.

Well as you can see by the time I'm having a lot of bother sleeping. For the last week I've woken up in the night for at least an hour if not two. Why???

LillyLeaf · 26/11/2019 05:28

@squirrelnutkins1 I'm awake too. I've been doing this for over a week now, I just wake up about 3-4 then can't sleep until 6.30, then my alarm goes off at 7. I was exhausted last week but caught up on my sleep at the weekend. Not sure why it happens, hormones I guess. Did a clear blue digital this morning and it was 3+ so that's good although I know they are not that accurate.

@pottypotamus a 9 week scan will be good timing.

squirrelnutkins1 · 26/11/2019 08:25

It's awful isn't it. I feel sooooo tired 😴😴😴 I was wondering whether to buy the digital ones for some reassurance but I don't know if I could handle it. That's what gave me a clue last time that things weren't going to end well cus it didn't move up from 2-3 weeks 💔

LillyLeaf · 26/11/2019 08:45

@squirrelnutkins1 it's probably given me 5 mins of reassurance.

squirrelnutkins1 · 26/11/2019 09:10

@LillyLeaf I don't know whether to keep testing every week or is that a bit crazy?! FRER are on offer on amazon at the mo.... 🤔 I always imagined I'd totally love the pregnancy stage but now I just want to snap my fingers to get to the baby part.

LillyLeaf · 26/11/2019 17:54

@squirrelnutkins1 I think I'll stop testing now. Even if it's gone wrong there will still be enough HCG to give me positives. I just need to hold out until next Thursday for my scan. Are you planning on an early scan?

squirrelnutkins1 · 26/11/2019 18:18

Time passes so quickly when you don't want it to but drags when you do! Keep us posted on your scan 👍🏻
Yeah I'll pay for one around 8/9 weeks I think Feels a lifetime away! Xx @LillyLeaf
Ive been in a VILE mood today cus I'm so tired.

pottypotamus · 26/11/2019 21:43

Hello ladies Smile
I was tempted to buy another box of digi's today but thought I'm being insane. I'll hopefully be able to get through the next 4 weeks-ish till my scan because of Xmas to distract me!!

Haven't actually booked a scan yet, hoping I'll still be able to get a slot at the place that's quite reasonably priced.

Has sickness properly hit anyone yet? I'm slightly nauseous at certain times of the day, mostly when I'm hungry.

squirrelnutkins1 · 27/11/2019 12:33

Ive decided the same thing this morning. I think it'll just drive me crazy buying and taking more tests. We can do this 💪🏻

I think I'll book mine in next week for just before xmas. I keep checking to see what slots are free!

Not had too much nausea, a bit yesterday afternoon but a couple of ginger biscuits helped!

@pottypotamus

pottypotamus · 27/11/2019 14:28

Me too! I've not had much nausea either, so now I'm naturally worrying about that too!
