Feeling dreadful first trimester

Hey ladies!

I'm 5 weeks 3 days and the morning sickness has already kicked in! I feel sick all day & can manage tiny bits of food at a time.i don't fancy anything and just feel horrible!

I'm cramping on and off too which also isn't pleasant! Anyone else in their first trimester and feeling grim? X

@Emmaaa1990 I'm hoping little peanut is going to have mine and OHs laid back approach to life 😅👏🏼 hasn't caused me much trouble so far, like you say I don't even feel that pregnant, it's only due to the few little symptoms that I have and no bleeding that I hope all is still well

Hi ladies!

I'm around 8 weeks pregnant now, had a private scan on Sunday due to hyperemesis (and me over-worrying) and discovered that we are expecting twins! We are over the moon as well as feeling very overwhelmed!! Apparently my HCG levels are through the roof because of carrying two and therefore it's causing awful sickness.

I would suggest a private early scan if you can. Sometimes the hyperemesis is caused by carrying more than one baby!

I've been signed off work for 3 weeks (I have another week left) and have spent the majority of my time in bed .

Sea sickness bands have helped a tiny bit. By the evenings I manage to walk around and stomach some good foods. However the mornings are by far the worst!

Let's hope the 1st trimester for us all whizzes by and we can all enjoy our 2nd trimester! I've heard good things

@Twinnies2020 yeah I had an early scan last week at 7 weeks and confirmed one baby and one strong heartbeat so I know it's only one. Just seem to be having a hard time with the sickness.

Congratulations on your twins though that's crazy and exciting!

@Twinnies2020 congratulations!! 🥳 oh I'm so happy for you, minus all the awful sickness you must feel awful! Yeah I've heard after 12 weeks it does go away for a lot of women 😊 I have some nausea but no sickness so feel like I've defo only got one peanut growing in there 😅 early scan is on Saturday morning!

Interesting about the coffee thing - DH made a pot this morning, I could smell it throughout the whole house and it made me feel so sick! Even thinking about it now is enough to bring on a wave of nausea - and I used to drink three cups a day!

My friend who has just had her first also had terrible sickness. Think it all depends on the HCG levels and your body! The sonographer said it was a good sign to be feeling nauseous so we can hold on to that!

@flossy12 thanks! Fingers crossed it goes by week 12. First scan, how exciting! Hope all goes well . It’s lovely talking to others who are going through similar experiences!

@tacosplease its so odd isn't it! I used to LOVE the smell of freshly ground coffee in my house and drink coffee every day but I just can't bring myself to drink it at the moment. I've had no cravings just completely gone off everything lol the body is a crazy but amazing thing 🤪

Yep I am such a wee tea jenny but I've had half a cup in the last three weeks (half because I thought I'll give it a go surely it wont repulse me that much...couldn't finish it ) so odd!

I'm now 10 weeks and feel ok today but not completely back to normal....prob a good day before it hits me with a vengeance again tomorrow !

@flossy12 hope your early scan goes well! I had one at 8 weeks and so glad I did, it's too long to wait to 12 weeks 😝

@Twinnies2020 my friend is 11 weeks ahead of me and promises the 2nd trimester is the best once the sickness stops 🤞

@secretllama glad everything seems to be going in the right direction for you! 😁😁 yeah it is a very long time! Especially since my booking in appointment isn't until I'm 11 weeks 😩

The nausea is starting for me was nearly sick after tea!

I've not bought a single thing baby related yet...holding out for 12 week scan, 13 days to go 😅

@secretllama no not getting anything big for a few months now especially with my birthday and Christmas coming up 😆

I've bought a little hat and mittens set it was £2 couldn't help myself 😆

@secretllama got a call from my midwife today and apparently my appointment was scheduled for this morning not the 26th of October 🙃 but they had me on the wrong list anyway as that midwife doesn't cover people at my GP all very confusing 🤦🏼‍♀️

She's rebooked me for Monday which I'm very glad about!

Need help if anyone has the answer? 😅 I have a hair appointment booked in for Wednesday, I'll be around 7+6 according to the midwife as she's going off LMP not my private scan 🤷🏼‍♀️ anyway I've heard you shouldn't have your hair dyed before 12 weeks of pregnancy, has anyone got experience with this? If I can I'll just get it cut for now but just wanting to know so I can let the salon know

@flossy12 I got my hair dyed in the 2ww when I was pregnant and it didn't even occur to check it was ok 😥 I'm sure it's fine and that if it was an issue they would ask clients about pregnancy but the advice is still not to until 2nd trimester!

How did your scan go?

@Gatgat92 I know! It seems so many people have the same reaction to coffee as well!

@flossy12 I'm having my hair done tonight foils for highlights - I have researched and spoken to my hairedresser who has confirmed that because the foils don't touch your scalp it's fine. Online it says it's fine as long as it's in a ventilated room. Not sure about hair dye dye Cos then that goes on your scalp I guess.

I'm checking everything as I'm worried about life and my little baby but it's always better to check 👍🏼 see what your hairdressers say and if you aren't comfortable don't do it!

Congrats on your early scan it's amazing isn't it! I'm almost 9 weeks now and dying to see my baby again!

Love reading everyone's messages on here! I had my 8 week scan today and it looked like a little gummy bear! So surreal as I don't feel pregnant just very ill 😂 good to know all this nausea isn't for nothing. Trying not to get too excited but it's so reassuring having early scans 😊

@Emmaaa1990 aww thank you!! I've spoken to my hair dresser and she said were only doing balayage so it won't touch anywhere near the scalp 🤞🏻👏🏼 so she said it should be fine, they have loads of women going in for their hair done before 12 weeks and after due to hair growing so quick

@flossy12 ahhh good 😊 youll be fine I had mine done tonight and the only issue was me trying not to puke the whole time 😂

@Gatgat92 I know isn't it lovely speaking and reading others stories! It's like we are strangers but we are so relatable to one another and I love that 🥰 awww isn't it amazing! I'm sure you're fine I keep thinking is everything okay but the amount of sickness I have that with sore boobs I'd be amazed if anything was wrong 😂

@Emmaaa1990 😂😂 aww bless you I never thought of that! The salon I'm going to better do decaf 😅 mines not bleach so hope the smells shouldn't make me wanna barf too much 🤞🏻
