I'm 6 weeks today and have been having a lot of white cm for the last 10 days or so. But this morning there was this little streak of blood in it Sad
I've got no cramping and there's been nothing worse throughout the day, though occasional very light pink discharge when wiping. I haven't really had any pregnancy symptoms since the beginning, apart from sore boobs which come and go (medium discomfort today). Has anyone else had this and had a positive outcome?

Yes! Twice! I have two babies and bled quite a lot with my first. Get yourself to an early pregnancy unit, they can do a scan. Good luck x

Aaarrgghhh · 16/07/2019 21:39

I’d go and get checked out before worrying yourself. My mate had multiple periods while pregnant. I on the other hand had no bleeding once pregnant until the plug came loose.

Anerak · 16/07/2019 21:40

Hard to say as only time will tell but it could be/looks like implantation bleeding

sallysparrow157 · 16/07/2019 21:45

I had a huge bleed at 6 weeks, clots, cramps, the works - both (!!) little embryos stayed put and I’m now 26 weeks! So definitely not game over yet - good luck!

carly2803 · 16/07/2019 21:47

i bled at 6 weeks - got a scan at hospital (ectopic so they thought)

hes fine! :)

good luck. think positive

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 16/07/2019 21:50

I had more bleeding than that with daughter. She is now a huge 3 year old. Only time will tell.

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 16/07/2019 21:59

Me too.
Had pink discharge, pink mucus , red streaked mucus, red spotting, orange... brown...
few scans to settle me and baby was fine it was a small bruise in the womb that caused it . Good luck x

QueenOfThePumpkins · 16/07/2019 22:01

Thank you lovely ladies, really appreciate your replies.

I called the EPU hoping they would offer me a scan but they just said to keep an eye unfortunately. And to take another test in 10 days if I fear the worst! Having a think about going for a private scan.

I also just realised this could be due to my cervical ectropion/erosion, which occasionally causes random bleeding as well. I will try and blame that for now!

Good luck with your twins sallysparrow, how exciting!

I had so much bleeding with my first, don't panic, it doesn't look that heavy, get yourself to the emergency unit.

wheresshegone · 16/07/2019 22:16

Easier said than done but please try and relax a little bit. Book a drs appointment or go to the walk-in in centre?

I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms until a few months before DD was born! (Lucky me) and I bled and had gooey discharge around 6 weeks and it was quite a lot. DD is now a very hyper 17 month old!

Good luck I hope everything is ok for you x

Passmethecrisps · 16/07/2019 22:22

I had something like this at exactly 6 weeks and the again at 7 weeks with my second. Nothing ever got as far as my pants but was there for maybe 12 hours when wiping.

I called EPU and they were not at all interested. Bleeding has to reach the knickers and start really soaking pads for them to be looking in to it. Round my way anyway.

For reference said pregnancy is upstairs sleeping

I really hope that this eases off and you can relax for a wee while. It is the absolute worst!

QueenOfThePumpkins · 17/07/2019 06:30

Morning ladies,

So there was quite a bit more this morning - tiny clots this time Sad
Again none in my knickers but when wiping.

Your kind posts are helping me stay optimistic, but I know I need to be realistic too. I've put a pad on and will see what happens... unfortunately got a big day ahead at work, but at least it will keep me distracted. The EPU basically said that there's no way of stopping a MC if it's going to happen, so I guess it's just carry on and head up for now...

Thanks again everybody xx

Hoping for the best for you. I had some spotting at the same stage as you and then bleeding that had tiny clots in it and I was so sure I was miscarrying but I wasn't.

It's such a worrying time.

MyNameIsRachel · 17/07/2019 11:52

Best of luck. I had the same thing years ago. It’s such a disappointment

I did go on to have a healthy pregnancy x

Scrapbookqueen1 · 17/07/2019 12:03

My darling, it could be due to a range of things. I had a few occurrences like this, all before 12 weeks one turned out to be thrush causing the bleeding. My 2 year old is currently running around like a loon. I know it’s poop but try to get in a positive headspace if you can x

QueenOfThePumpkins · 17/07/2019 14:11

Thanks so much for the kind words and reassurance :)

Funnily enough I've had nausea all day and was really sick at lunchtime. I thought that was a brilliant sign that things were ok... until I found out that my sister, whose house I was at last night, has got a bloody stomach bug! I know it's a selfish thing to think but how typical is that Grin

peachgreen · 17/07/2019 14:12

I had exactly the same thing in both my pregnancies - one ended in miscarriage, one is now an 18 month old. I know it's so, so hard but it really could go either way. Will be thinking of you.

Lisalou88 · 17/07/2019 14:52

I had a bleed at 6 weeks, fairly heavy and even a few clots, I feared the worst and thought I was going to lose another baby (I had already 2 losses) I phoned epu and they told me there was nothing much they could do as it was so early & to wait a week take a test and if still positive to call back, the bleed only lasted q day or two and I was still getting positive tests so eventually they agreed to scan me & we saw a little heartbeat. I am now 28 weeks and they never did find out what caused the bleed but just shows it doesn’t automatically mean bad news. All you can do is try and stay positive x

Birchwoods · 17/07/2019 16:05

I'm in a similar position but a couple of weeks behind you. Took an early test on Friday and got a faint positive, which has since got a bit stronger (pic attached, test taken this morning, period was due around Monday), but I've had brown spotting since Sunday and brown and red spotting since Monday and mild cramps, like the heavy need a poo feeling you get when AF is due. I'm assuming the worst really. I had a MMC followed by ERPC and then retained products at the end of March and into April and I'm just so scared to go through it again. Added pressure that my DD is nearly 4 and I feel so guilty that there will be a big age gap.

I hope everything turns out okay for you. Have you had more spotting today?

I had bleeding that looked similar to that with both pregnancy's as implantation, second pregnancy I had two big bleeds and I'm 29 weeks tomorrow with twins ! Midwife said bleeding is not normal but common, bright red to brown, clots / no clots, cramps no cramps are all common and do not necessarily mean MC. I had clots, bright red and back pains with my bleeds and everything has gone fine so far apart. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you OP. Bleeding of any kind is scary in pregnancy whether it's a teeny bit or more x

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 17/07/2019 16:37

I’ve had two miscarriages so I know what you are feeling. The issue with such an early scan is it may show a heart beat but that just tells you what is happening now and not what will happen over the next few weeks.

WhenZogateSuperworm · 17/07/2019 16:39

I had bleeding in both of my successful pregnancies. Each time it happened they scanned me for reassurance but it was usually a 2/3 day wait for a scan appointment.

RowingMermaid · 17/07/2019 16:58

I spotted red blood (like a light period) at about 6+4 enough to go to EPU and have a scan, we could see the baby's heartbeat. But I was classed as high risk of an eptopic pregnancy hence the scan.

At 7+0 I bled horrifically which included huge blood clots about 7cm long and I lost a lot of blood. Got taken in to hospital in the middle of the night as I couldn't stop bleeding and it seemed too much for a standard period.

I had a consultant look through the clots (yes I had to bag up everything I lost and take it with me) and tell me there was nothing to suggest a miscarriage but that it didn't look good. Luckily I had stopped bleeding whilst at hospital. I had to wait 2 days before they would scan me again as they assumed they would need to do vaginal scan.

My baby was still there, his little heart beating away. I was diagnosed with an Extra Chorionic hematoma which according to Wiki is the pooling of blood (hematoma) between the chorion, a membrane surrounding the embryo, and the uterine wall. It occurs in about 3.1% of all pregnancies. I could see it on the ultrasound screen, having formed more blood.

I was put on immediate bed rest, no lifting etc and that little baby is now a whopping 13 year old.

Be positive. It is always a worrying time the first trimester.
