So back story. One DD conceived via ivf after 3 years of trying.

Suffered massively with MH issues ever since and decided to not do IVF again and stick with one child.

Dh and I rarely have sex, he raised it recently as an issue.

We last had sex about a week before my last period.... my periods have been pretty regular! Maybe a day or two out

This weekend I started feeling nauseas, indegestion and bit of heart burn..... very similar feelings to what I had with DD. Was in Asda so thought I'd buy a £1 pregnancy test just to get the notion out of head.....

You guessed it, it's positive. Came up straight away!!

Cannot blimming believe it!!! How is it possible. I had a period 2 weeks ago???

Clearblue digitals aren't particularly sensitive OP. Hopefully it’s just that x

RandomMess · 28/05/2019 21:47

Fingers crossed 🤞

With my second pregnancy, I tested one day before p was due, got two negatives on clear blue and two positives on sainsbury brand. Next day got first response to confirm it...two dark lines...so clear blue is not the best at picking up...although with my third, I used a digital for the first time (as always thought they were crap, but was excited and wanted to see if it would pick it up) and it did, I got a 2-3 weeks a few days after my missed period. Good luck and hopefully you get the outcome you want.

Same happened to a friend of mine this week. Conceived 1st after 3 years IVF & got a BFP this weekend after just stopping breastfeeding DD x

Good luck with testing this morning, really hope you get your positive. If that Asda one is a false positive you should definitely write and complain, they shouldn't be selling them.

BertieDrapper · 29/05/2019 06:43

I used a first response, with my first wee..... it was negative.

Asda should not be allowed to sell those tests!

If that had happened when we were trying for DD it would've broken both of us!

Thanks for anyone's good wishes. I'm not heartbroken or anything. I'd accepted that DD would be an only and was happy for that. I know I'm lucky to have her.
Wish I hadn't said anything to OH though xx

Morning op.
I’m glad you’re ok with the outcome. It’s true what you say about these Asda tests. In fact I’m shocked they still sell them given the press they’ve had.
Best wishes 💐

Lauren83 · 29/05/2019 07:49

I'm so sorry that happened how stressful for you, I hope you and DP are ok Thanks

sheshootssheimplores · 29/05/2019 07:54

My god those Asda tests should be taken off the shelves, appalling!!!

All my love to you OP xx

sheshootssheimplores · 29/05/2019 07:56

Just to add my DP is an only and happy as Larry. Doesn’t feel like he missed out on anything growing up. I on the other hand have a sister. She was hateful growing up, made my life a misery, and we are estranged as adults.

melissa1215 · 29/05/2019 07:59

All the people saying "you had unprotected sex, that's how"... if you'd ever had to go through ivf you'd understand why OP would ask how?

No need for sarcasm, I don't see why they even feel the need to reply.

Congrats OP, maybe what you thought was a period was an implantation bleed. I'd deffo test again and would go see your GP too

BertieDrapper · 29/05/2019 08:14

@sheshootssheimplores

Thank you, I'm the same... have a brother but we barely speak.

I know she will be fine as an only. We can offer her so much more, shell never want for anything. But yes there will be times she will be lonely, but even with a sibling she may still feel like that.... I know I do sometimes.

I love our little family unit. If another baby came along then great we would be happy. But we will be equally happy without.

Now I just have to figure out why I've been feeling so nauseas the past few days!

X
