This is my rant, told everyone about the new pregnancy and as well as the congratulations I've had the following: (3rd DB have 2 DDs already)

  1. most asked, was it planned? WTF what a thing to ask, no we have absolutely no clue about contraception almost everyone has asked this I would never ask someone something so personal as to whether they were using contraception or it had failed. Have come back with "yes DP and I had loads of unprotected sex around ovulation"

  2. so are you wanting a boy? yes if it's a girl we will be really disappointed not bother naming her and lock her in a cupboard. If I was going to be that upset with a DD I wouldn't have another baby.

  3. where are you going to put them all you only have 3 bedrooms? what does everyone else do? A few years ago you would get 6 kids in one room.

  4. what if it's twins? we'll sell one on ebay

  5. oh you'll have your hands full/are you mad etc etc I mean how are you supposed to answer that.

[angry}

so does anyone else want to join me in a pregnancy rage?

I just wanted to add something about bump rubbers! We were living with another couple while I was pregnant, and the man of the other couple, although a lovely guy, was very touchy feely with my bump. He said he found pregnant women very sexy! A bit wierd, especially the jealous look on his girlfriends face.

The most annoying thing said to me was "Your life is really going to change!" - Really? I didn't know that, I thought it was going to be exactly the same. How thick do they think pregnant women are?

I'd like to rant about my DP.
Yesterday he asked me to ring a handyman to do some jobs in the house. I decided to text the handyman first, so he'd know what jobs we wanted doing, then call him later to discuss.
When DP got back from work he asked if I'd rang the handyman. Told him I'd texted him & was going to call him later. DP than announced he was furious, blah blah blah, and that he was sick of running around (he's done lots of DIY work in the house lately), and that I could do all the running around from now on (I'll be 31 weeks pg tomorrow ) , then he went to the football & pub with his cousin and came back after midnight.
It's not like I sit on my arse doing nothing. I still work full time, do the shopping, washing, ironing, cooking, keep an eye on my elderly parents, help him out with DIY jobs in the house as much as I can, etc.

And he shows no interest in the pregnancy. I got a steam steriliser the other day, and when I showed it to him he said' I'm not interested in stuff like that'. Same when we were in a department store the other week and had a browse round the pram dept. We were in and out in 5 mins - it was like dragging a disinterested toddler round the shop.
His parents have kindly offerered to buy us a cot, and when I asked his opinion on what we should get he just said 'you choose, I don't know anything about cots'.
When his mother rings him, she always asks how I am, and he says 'oh she's fine' (he never asks me how I am), or 'she's getting fatter' (which makes me feel like a million dollars).

Rant over. Feel much better now. I had a good cry about it in the bath last night, which helped.
