I like Martha and Tilly.

Mary - plain
Primrose - middle aged Hyacinth Bouquet type

yes, Scout would def suit her. Still think you should just start using it as her "nickname"

DS does say Mavis nicely actually- I tested him on all my names on my list to see which ones he could say lol.

I do like Mabel as well

You can tell my dh is so fed up with this naming lark I asked him to write down a few suggestions on to my list and this is what he came up with:

Shitty fatty split arse H---
Elodie Rhapsody H--
Flange Flaps Fart Arse H---

Mature isnt he just? just had another look at the list what do you think of:

Alice
Lottie
safia
Ella

fingerwoman · 09/07/2007 22:01

I like all of those, if we have a girl it'll prob have Alice as middle name

controlfreaky2jocasta · 09/07/2007 22:02

oh no fees, "are you able, mabel?", not spinstery at all......

TaylorsMummy · 09/07/2007 22:03

don't do mabel!! might be sweet/cute/funny on a little girl in a boden dress but she won't like it when she's a teenager/grown woman!!

elasticbandstand · 09/07/2007 22:06

lay the table mabel.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/07/2007 22:07

Martha and Matilda are my faves (then DH could have tilly?)

Mathilda or Mathilde here in Denmark is often shortened to Tilda/Tilde (as in Tilda Swinton). I like
We have a long surname and we have a Clementine - she is always Clemmie. And we have a Theo, so I like Thea
