Slimming world in pregnancy thread anyone?

Hello,
I am currently pg with dc3 (7 weeks) it’s early days yet but I normally eat very well and train 5 days a week. I feel sick so struggling with the high protein and calorie counting element so was gunna switch to slimming world for damage limitation.
I have done it before with success but find it better in a group. Anyone fancy starting a thread here?
I don’t want to pay to go to an actual group if I can help it, this should be enough if we are all in the same boat

Hey, I would be happy to join you. I was doing Slimming world before I started my IVF treatment. Since finding out I was pregnant, I’ve been really tired and have been travelling away weekly for work so have fell off the wagon and have started eating lots of carbs etc but keen to break the cycle and get back on it. At the same time I don’t really wish to lose lots of weight, as I’m not sure that healthy for the pregnancy, I just want to be healthier 🙂

Hello! Yes exactly, my plan also, it is ok to do I asked my midwife on my last pregnancy and it was ok, I did it from about 20 weeks. You can have 2 healthy extra a and healthy extra b when pregnant and breastfeeding but everything else stays the same

Hello ladies; I’m 4+3 after donor egg ivf abroad. I’ve been doing Slimming Wolrls since last June in an attempt to get healthier for the treatment. I have my first group post treatment on Wednesday and will tell my consultant and I plan to follow it throughout my pregnancy.

TokenGinger · 27/01/2019 21:11

Yes!! I'm 21 weeks so far and planning to join a class soon so I can limit the damage. Up until week 18, I'd only gained 4lb but I've now gained another 4-5lb in 3 weeks since my bump popped out, so I'd like to start monitoring my food definitely!

Do you have to have sign off from your midwife to join? Xx

Rememberallball · 27/01/2019 22:09

I will ask my consultant on Wednesday, @TokenGinger - I’m already a member so do t need to sign up, I just need to get my consultant to go through the changes with me. They’ve recently introduced 2x HExA for all members so, it might just be adding in another HExB but there might be more too!!

Will report back when I know!!

user1466690252 · 27/01/2019 22:15

Great stuff!! Thank you! I just had my last plate of “I’m pregnant so sod it” crackers and cheese supper. Can’t say I even enjoyed it. Ready for tomorrow to start.

Hi! I’ve been following plan fairly loosely over the last month or so, a little support group would be good!! How much has everyone gained so far? I’ve gained 7lbs at 20 weeks which I’m happy with 😊

user1466690252 · 28/01/2019 07:40

I’m only 7 weeks and this pregnancy is a huge shock (i was on the pill) so I havnt weighed yet, I know I was 131 lbs in the gym when i had my weight and measurements done on Dec 28th and is like to do the whole pregnancy with a stone stone and a half gain. I’m not sure if it’s possible; but with my first child I put in 5 and lost it then on my second I put on 3 and lost it and it’s just hard graft everytime that with 3 children I could deffo do without.

This morning I had coffee and half a tin of beans on the diet bread. I feel sick now but it was nice at the time. Just getting ready for the school run. It’s gunna be a cold school run!

Please can I join you all?

I was slimming worlding up until April 18 when I had a miscarriage. I then fell off the wagon good and proper and gained nearly 3st which has pushed my bmi from

ColdCottage · 28/01/2019 18:03

Me. I planned to loose a few stone before baby no.2 but failed. Would love to lose a bit in a healthy way (midwives say this is fine).

At the moment I have nausea all day apart from when I eat, don't want to eat as feel so rubbish but it does help. Arrrrrh

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 28/01/2019 18:12

I started slimming world at about 10 weeks. I’m now 31 and have gained 10 pounds, something I couldn’t have imagined in my previous 3 pregnancies. I’m amazed tbh. I’m not sticking strictly to plan, I did in the first few weeks while I got my head around it, but now I’m not so strict. I couldn’t get by without my 4 cartons of orange juice a week for starters Blush I’m not sure how much to expect to gain in this final stretch but I’m so glad that it’s bit looking like I’ll have a lot to lose after the birth. I started off with a bmi of 28.3 I think so I’d like to work on getting to a healthy weight after this one is born, and being able to maintain it. A stressful few years saw me put on weight but I really feel I can lose it sensibly now.

Sunny1990 · 28/01/2019 18:35

How did everyone get on today? :)

I hear you about the orange juice, addicted to the stuff at the minute!

Happy to have not gone over syns, and also made it to the gym!

daphine2004 · 28/01/2019 18:54

Evening, I’ll join too! I did SW at the start of last year and lost a time and a half. Wanted to lose more but was so busy that I didn’t have time to cook all the time and put it back on. That’s something I’ll continue to struggle with as I have a full on job and once I’m home it’s sorting out my nearly four year old before bedtime. I’m, I think 11 weeks this week and in the early days I was starving and just needed to eat. So I’ve been loosely following plan and being mindful.

I have put on three pounds so far. I’m just trying not to put loads on as the think I’d struggle to lose it afterwards. Definitely up for damage limitation!

user1466690252 · 28/01/2019 19:16

Hello everyone! Welcome! Glad to have you all. Well I have been absolutely exhausted today and didn’t make the gym, but I stuck to plan. I’ve had...
Beans on heb toast and a cup of coffee
Left over chilli (free) and jacket sweet potato
A go fibre bar (4 syns)
And a Spanish omelette, salad a beans
My hea was the cheese in the omelette.

I feel full, and struggled to eat a lot because of the nausea but I feel better once I’ve eaten it.

My skin is horrific, I’ve gotten so spotty, I didn’t have that on my other 2!

Hi all! I'm just 4+3 now so very early days for me!

I'm at SW and I can confirm that we get 2 x HEA and 2 x HEB. I might've said to the consultant that the extra HEB news was almost as good as the BFP 😳

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 29/01/2019 07:20

I'm not sure if this is the same for all SW groups but at my one if you are pregnant you are welcome to join but they aren't allowed to weigh you unless you've been referred by a doctor.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 29/01/2019 07:34

Hi all! I am 21 weeks and started SW again yesterday. I started SW for the first time ever this time last Year and lost 4 st and made Target by middle of August. I was doing really well at staying there till end of October when I was 7 weeks and the sickness really kicked in. I put on 5 st with my first and never really lost the weight after, so was huge with my second. I started feeling uncomfortable a couple of nights ago so thought I need to get back on it! I've lost 1 lb already Grin I have a booklet about pregnancy and breast feeding whilst on SW, and it looks like the main thing whilst Pregnant is just the extra HE's. But, this booklet was given to me before all the changes, but glad to hear it still stands! It estimated that you should put on 2 st 4 lbs through your entire Pregnancy, and I've put on 2 st 5 lbs already!! I'm feeling so much better now a days, and getting back into my fruit and veg, so fingers crossed I can rein this in. Good luck everyone! Excellent idea to do a thread!

user1466690252 · 29/01/2019 09:03

Oh my god 2 HE!! That is the best thing ever bring on the cheese on toast 😂 how we all feeling? I feel so much better being back on it, so much about being pregnant is out of our control so it’s nice to be in control of something. Although my skin is horrendous! So spotty! I never normally get spots aswell.
Beans on toast again for breakfast as I enjoyed it yesterday, have a soup on for lunch and probably a jacket potato and something with salad for tea as my eldest has swimming lessons so we are all starving by the time we come in and I can pre cook those.

I went to Aldi yesterday and got some of those slim well meals. Does anyone have the official app I can check the syns on please?

I’m 4+5 today and weighed myself this morning (tomorrow is SW weigh in) and I’ve lost 4 1/2lb since the day I went to Cyprus for my IVF 3 weeks ago. I’ve only got about 1 1/2 stone to get to my pre pregnancy goal weight so I’d be happy to lose a bit of it before I start putting on due to the pregnancy.

I have had a couple of days of bad nausea and sickness and think I might be going dairy intolerant as I’ve had an upset stomach within an hour or so of eating porridge for breakfast - guess I’d better speak to the midwives when I get that far as I don’t need to be having issues.

How we doing ladies? Bad day today, had a birthday party and ate most of the buffet 🙈 need some nice inspiration. What can I make?
