Babies due

Hi ladies

I'm due tomorrow. This will be my first spontaneous labour so it's mostly a new experience for me.

Just wanted to see if they're any other ladies out there who are near, on or over their due date who want to share any progress and/or early warning signs of labour they're getting.

Yesterday I had major hot flush, sweating and shaking. My dog was also acting a bit weird. But still not signs of baby coming.

Today I'm going to have a nice relaxing bath and hope for the best.

@nos123 hope your induction is going well today.

@char any luck after your sweep?

My induction is 8.30am tomorrow morning

Chardeemacdennis1 · 12/12/2018 18:45

No nothing so its looking like she's going to need to be induced.

You could have baby here by tomorrow night then. How exciting. Hope all goes well.

I’ve been watching this thread, do we have any babies yet ladies??

Stargirl90 · 13/12/2018 12:34

So I'm only 1cm dilated. Ive got the balloon catheter fitted and I'm back home. Was horrid- had gas and air to have it fitted

Got in bath soon as I got back and taken cocodamol. Since it was fitted I'm having pains frequently, trying to time them cos they last about a minute then stop for a few mins, don't think it's a full on contaction yet but may turn into them?

Back at hospital at 930am to have balloon removed tomorrow, unless it falls out or I go into labour before then!

Chardeemacdennis1 · 13/12/2018 13:21

@Stargirl90 I'd not heard of that method of induction before. It doesn't sound very nice. I hope your holding up OK.

I went into spontaneous labour last night. Having contractions every 10 mins but there not very painful so I think I've got a while to go.

@char I'm doing okay thanks, the Pains have calmed down a bit though , less painful now and not as often so not sure what will happen.

That's great that your labour has started by itself, how you doing? is it tomorrow your induction day?

Chardeemacdennis1 · 13/12/2018 19:30

Yes induction was supposed to start tomorrow afternoon but looks like I won't need it now.

Labour is pretty slow though. Having contractions every 10 mins but they are not very intense.

DD2 phoned me up and said I feel rather wierd and I think i ought to go to hospital. Got there and she was stumbling around like she'd been on the pop! Said your not driving no bloody way ! Anyway bundelled her into the car and later that same afternoon a fantastic little bundle of joy turned up:)

Who as a grandad i love her to bits and I reserve the right to spoil her rotten:)

Hope all goes well on becoming a mum:)

Labour didn't progress on its own. Contractions kept coming and going. So went ahead with induction. Had the pessary put in at 8am. Some contractions but no dilation. Then at about 6pm contractions ramped up. I then went from 3cm to being rushed into the labour ward in the space of an hour. After about 30 mins of intense pain and pushing, she was out.

Didn't get to have water birth didn't get to have the epidural I started to beg for, but it went well and I'm glad I did it with just gas and air in the end.

Chardeemacdennis1 Well all's well that ends well I suppose! it seems to me that these birthing plans do go awry a lot of the time but if mum and babe are well then we're all really gratefull:)

'Scuse me rambling on a bit as DD2 has last week given birth to a beautiful 'lil grand daughter and it truly was a happy event:)
