Babies due

Hi ladies

I'm due tomorrow. This will be my first spontaneous labour so it's mostly a new experience for me.

Just wanted to see if they're any other ladies out there who are near, on or over their due date who want to share any progress and/or early warning signs of labour they're getting.

Yesterday I had major hot flush, sweating and shaking. My dog was also acting a bit weird. But still not signs of baby coming.

Today I'm going to have a nice relaxing bath and hope for the best.

Still big load of nothing for me here! I’ve got my last midwife appointment too. I’m 39+5 but she’s on leave next Tuesday and then I’m being induced on the 12th because of GD. Going to ask if she can examine me and see what my cervix is saying! No physical symptoms but my nesting urge is very strong today. Been awake since 5 and done loads of chores. I’ve not bothered for ages and we even have the cleaner coming tomorrow!!

Stargirl90 · 04/12/2018 09:47

@mintmrs nesting could be a good sign, hopefully it happens for you before induction.

Nothing here, just period pains again today, but haven't felt much the past 2 days until now so who knows. I've got midwife on Thursday at 40+6 for a sweep, then induction booked for 40+13 if nothing happens

Santababyclaus · 04/12/2018 10:11

Can I join in?

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow with my second dc. Been having a lot of twinges since Saturday which is different to my first pregnancy, I didn't have any twinges, not even BH until I went into labour. Dd was born 40+1 so fairly hopefully I'll not go overdue with this one.

Chardeemacdennis1 · 04/12/2018 12:24

Nesting sounds promising @Mintmrs

It's hard to tell if I'm nesting or not as I pretty much spend my life cleaning. Did set up the next to me crib this morning though which knackered me out. I think my husbands nesting though if that's a thing. He reorganised the kitchen cupboards at the weekend!

@Santababyclaus fingers crossed your little one makes an appearance soon. You may still end up with a Christmas baby though.

My back pains on Monday were the real deal! Proper contractions stated at midnight and baby was here by 7:30 on Tuesday morning!

balalalala · 05/12/2018 07:23

Congratulations! Hope it was a straightforward birth. 40+2 here and well and truly ready for baby!

Chardeemacdennis1 · 05/12/2018 08:24

@ND348 congratulations! I'm so happy for you.

Yes very lucky a pretty straightforward birth. Was 7 cm by the time i got to triage and wanted tto push on the way to the delivery suite! No interventions needed and managed using a tens machine and gas and air x

Chardeemacdennis1 · 06/12/2018 13:16

Well done. Glad it all went well. X

One thing for sure... he/she is coming! Just keep remembering you do have a baby at the end of it All!

Stargirl90 · 07/12/2018 14:45

Congratulations to the new mums!

I'm 41 weeks today. Feeling pretty down today actually, kind of anxious and emotional, but can't pin point why Sad

I had a sweep yesterday, been having period pains on off since but that's all. Induction booked for 6 days time

Mintmrs · 07/12/2018 15:07

I also had a sweep this morning. Had period type pains ever since which are coming every 5-10 mins for 40-50 seconds so looks promising!

Stargirl90 · 07/12/2018 15:43

@mintmrs I never even thought to time mine, hope yours builds up to something!

Chardeemacdennis1 · 07/12/2018 21:46

I was offered a sweep today but I chickened out. I've asked to have one Tuesday if baby isn't here by then.

I am now having tummy pains but I think it's wind.

My baby came at 2:20am!

Chardeemacdennis1 · 08/12/2018 10:05

Congratulations @Mintmrs and well done.

I'm wishing I had the sweep now!

Stargirl90 · 08/12/2018 10:20

Wow congratulations @mintmrs!!

My sweep can't have worked cos I'm still waiting 😭

Stargirl90 · 10/12/2018 11:23

@char how's things going?
Nothing happening for me yet except that I have lost some plug this morning!
Trying not to get my hopes up. The period pains have disappeared for the last 2 days :(
I'm 41+3

Chardeemacdennis1 · 10/12/2018 17:57

Nothing Sad

No twinges no pains no plug. I'm 41 + 1 now and starting to feel a bit down.

Had a wander round the supermarket and been bouncing on the exercise ball and had two curry's.

Sweep tomorrow maybe that will get things moving. I really don't want to have an induction but it's booked for Friday.

Are you having an induction? I hope baby comes in their own for you.

Stargirl90 · 10/12/2018 20:35

Ah were not very lucky are we. Hopefully the sweep goes well for you tomorrow. I keep walking round supermarkets and sitting on my ball too but nothing. Lost 3 bits of plug today but no pains or anything 🤷 I'm getting induced on Thurs 8.30am, so I reckon he should definitely be born by the end of the week

Chardeemacdennis1 · 10/12/2018 21:21

You never know, you things might start off in the next couple of days.

Every night I go to bed hopeful I'll be woken by labour kicking off. Fingers crossed. Smile

I’m 41+5 and I’m having an induction tomorrow. Ugh what a week. I’ve had 3 unsuccessful sweeps and plenty of false contractions, sickness, heartburn and no sleep.

I received a phone call to check to see if I really needed the induction tomorrow as in my notes it simply says I’m having an induction for being overdue and they normally don’t offer this until 42+. I reminded that it was because baby is big for dates with growth trailing off. The lady on the phone remarked pleasantly, “oh ok, I just thought then- we could leave this lady for another week!”. My gut twisted as she said that...nobody is taking this induction away from me now, I need this baby out!

Chardeemacdennis1 · 11/12/2018 09:09

@nos123

Its funny how they have different rules in different places. Where I am they induce at 41 + 5 as standard. I think because the induction can take a couple of days that gets the baby out by 42.

I'm worried about the baby getting too big. But I also don't want an induction. I think it's probably the best route though.

Hopefully your induction will go well and quick. These babies just don't want to come out!
