Sorry for the tmi photo but freaking out slightly and would love an opinion on what this is. I'm supposed to be induced on Friday as am currently just over 41 weeks along but went to the bathroom just now and have THIS on my pad! When I wiped there was a little mucus but not much so I don't know if this is the start of my show or not? I thought it was supposed to be red or yellow/clear though? Why is this a weird brown colour (and not that mucusy)?? Has anyone come across this themselves? Am reluctant to waste triage's time with stupid questions but just want to know if this is normal...!!

That's how my labour started....

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 13:14

Really? Ooh that's exciting; I would LOVE to avoid an induction! Was it your show? I just can't work it out. It's like very thick light brown discharge...

It’s surely a show! Mine started like this and moved on to period pains which then ramped up!

Mainchanger · 09/10/2018 13:18

Ooo this is exciting!
(I'll be lurking for the birth announcement 😉)

Elllicam · 09/10/2018 13:19

Looks like a show to me too. Good luck!

missmouse101 · 09/10/2018 13:22

Yay! You’re off! Good luck and as pp said we’ll be waiting for news!!

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 13:24

Oh I REALLY hope so! Thanks all! I'll be sure to post back (really hate those threads where you're always left wondering what happened!). Going to go for a walk and see if I can things moving 🤞

I just went to hospital to get checked out when I wiped and saw blood, this happened on my actual due date, my DD was born that night. Good luck and keep us posted!

CountessVonBoobs · 09/10/2018 14:02

It's your plug. Go for a walk or get bouncing!

MaMisled · 09/10/2018 14:06

Last time I saw that was 7 hrs before labour started! Good luck op! Soooo exciting! !!

gamerchick · 09/10/2018 14:07

Yep you're on your way. Put another pad on for more gloop to come.

Good luck.

missmouse101 · 09/10/2018 15:14

Ooh, how are you getting on? Exciting!

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/10/2018 15:16

Ooh, how exciting!

redsky21 · 09/10/2018 15:27

With my first I had a show 4 days before I went into labour. With the second, I never saw it!

HaulingFreight · 09/10/2018 15:27

Ohh good luck

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 16:07

Thanks everyone!! Well there's definitely SOMETHING happening as I've filled up three similar looking pads with gloop, am feeling the constant urge to go to the toilet, and have been having period pains for the past few hours. From my googling though it looks like this could go on for days so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anything ramps up!! I has totally resigned myself to being induced on Friday so it's nice that there is at least SOME hope of it happening spontaneously! Thanks for all your replies - I think you're right that it must be the plug, or at least some of it! It's just not what I thought it would look like!!

I'm just here for an update :)

surreygirl1987 · 10/10/2018 08:22

Definitely in labour and have been since last night... contractions woke me up around 1:30am. I managed about 3 hours sleep last night and have fairly regular contractions now but I don't think enough to go to hospital yet... looks like everyone was right about that show being the start of things!! Eeeek exciting!! Just mooching around the house now, wandering from room to room pointlessly...

Good luck. Soon you’ll have a baby in your arms 😍😍😍

Rightnow1245 · 10/10/2018 08:35

Good luck OP going to be lurking to see how you get on x

PillowOfSociety · 10/10/2018 08:41

Good luck OP, very exciting!

Keep upright, keep moving, and just get on with things. I would leave it til as late as possible to go to hospital.

secretnames · 10/10/2018 09:14

good luck OP!

DragonNoodleCake · 10/10/2018 10:54

Yeah!!! Spontaneous labour is so much better than induction (I've had both)

cookiesaurus · 10/10/2018 12:20

How exciting!! Good luck - hope it all goes however you want it to x
