Bit of a shock!

Back in April I miscarried at 6 weeks, confirmed by tests at the time & also 6 weeks later with further tests as my periods hadn't returned.
Doctor & nurse said just to be patient but still 12 weeks after MC still nothing.
Today I have been to the hospital for an ultrasound to check everything is ok after the miscarriage & the sonographer has found a 23 week baby girl! Happy & healthy, looking perfect & gorgeous!
I'm in shock! Can't believe she hung in there all this time & I am so far gone!
Has this happened to anyone else?!!
Does anyone have any advice for finding out late in pregnancy re screenings? Not too sure I am happy to have invasive testing?...
thanks!

That is just lovely to hear. Congratulations to you xx

Sunshinegirl82 · 24/09/2018 19:37

Amazing news! You could consider NIPT for testing? Harmony or Iona or similar. It's non invasive (just a blood test) but you have to pay for it privately (normally around £400-£450). Congratulations!

Angelmiracle · 24/09/2018 19:43

What a lovely story! She is determined not to go anywhere 😊 Congratulations @Busyfool 🎉 Can you still get your anomaly scan done that's usually around 20 weeks? Personally I would be happy with getting that done. Wish you a continued happy and healthy pregnancy.

loveisland · 24/09/2018 19:47

Did you have a bump and suspect it?!

showmeahero · 24/09/2018 19:50

This is lovely to read! Congratulations op! SmileThanks

Welshmaiden85 · 24/09/2018 19:51

Amazing news!

Rkay2 · 24/09/2018 19:54

Congratulations! You can still have some testing and the anomaly scans would be around 20-22 weeks to check Baby development. Hope all is well with Baby. Just curious- We’re you not putting on weight?

SleepFreeZone · 24/09/2018 19:56

Oh my god!!! How?! What do think happened? No miscarriage after all or a pregnancy soon after your loss?

CrabbyPatty · 24/09/2018 20:02

That's amazing! Xxx

littlebug19 · 24/09/2018 20:14

Oh this is amazing! Huge huge congratulations to you x

Merename · 24/09/2018 20:23

That is amazing, wonderful news! Yes, did you have a bump or notice movement in hindsight?

Gobletoffire · 24/09/2018 20:28

Wowwwww! Amazing news, congrats xx

redastherose · 24/09/2018 20:29

Congratulations, what amazing news. No idea about invasive testing, is there any particular risk factors that would make you want/need to? There is no need to have anything other than usual dating scan, blood tests etc

sexnotgender · 24/09/2018 20:31

Wow she must have been hiding well, I’m 23 weeks and feel like an absolute whale. Congratulations!

aburrow93 · 24/09/2018 20:38

Wow that's amazing! I am guessing you are due in January same as me? I'm 23 +4. Looking at the dates does this mean that it wasn't the original baby? As I conceived the end of April with last period mid April. You must be in so much only 17 weeks left 😁. Ps. There is a thread for January babies called due January 2019 3rd thread.

Busyfool · 24/09/2018 22:04

Thanks everyone for the support! 😊

@Lymphy -haha! Yes so lucky I was laying down!

Anomaly scan completed today- all growing nicely!

@loveisland - as I had been testing with negative results & podded & poked by doc I literally just thought I was badly bloated with haywire hormones due to the MC! 🙈

@Rkay2 - boobs, bum & thighs got so much bigger in the first 6 weeks then I went on holiday & stopped hitting the gym but not too much weight gain since then...

@SleepFreeZone - dates match up as no miscarriage! Strange negative tests in between but we are so happy to know we are growing a little fighter!

@Merename - today now I know what they are I am feeling small wind type bumps but honestly I've had no sickness, or anything- very very lucky aren't I!

@redastherose - I literally haven't had any midwife app's or anything yet! Need to prep some questions for midwife I think!!! I know the time for downs testing & genetic abnormalities has past by now.
My mind is racing trying to play catch up with everything!

@aburrow93 - your dates match mine 100%. 17 weeks left scares me slightly!!! 😳
As long as she is happy in there I'm happy 😍 the rest will just have to fall into place 😜

Bit of a shock!
