So I got my wonderful BFP 2 days ago, I’m now 4 + 2 This will be my second child, I already have a DS who is 6.

I have cramps in my tummy, and it feels like it’s tightening up, and really bloated (bloated so much that I can’t actually hold my belly in) It all feels quite tender. I also feel really nauseous already. Last night I turned over in bed and felt like I had pulled a muscle in my side.

I’m not complaining because I’m so happy that I’m pregnant, but I just wondered if all of this is normal? I feel so delicate Confused

Hi @Pitterpatter01! Congratulations on your BFP! I had mine yesterday and I'm still in shock. I have no idea how pregnant I am. It's been almost 5 weeks since the first day of my last period (so 4weeks 6days) but my Natural Cycles app has worked out my due date already and put me at 3weeks 5days?
Either way, I'm so excited/shocked/anxious..!!
Your symptoms sound similar to mine. My boobs are super sore, I'm really tired, the bloat is unreal that I look pregnant already. I also have the full/tugging/crampy feeling too. I'm so happy and excited but can't help feeling massively anxious...! Confused do you feel the same?xx

SpadesOfGlory · 31/07/2018 10:24

Congratulations! I got my bfp last week at 10dpo so I found out super early! I'm about 4+5 now. I had the same feeling as you when I turned over in bed for the first 3 days or so but now I just feel bloated. Boobs starting to get a little tender but nothing serious.

This is my 1st so I don't really know what I should be feeling, and I'm a little worried I don't have any other symptoms yet...but I guess that's normal for 4 weeks?

Pitterpatter01 · 31/07/2018 10:36

Congratulations! Your Dr will date the pregnancy from the first day of your last period so I would ignore the app! Unless your periods are irregular though, I think that makes a difference but I’m not entirely sure. Isn’t it amazing that it causes so many symptoms already?! The summer holidays are going to be hard with my 6 year old, all I want to do is sleep.
I joined Slimming World last week obviously not knowing I was pregnant. First weigh in tonight, really hope the bloat doesn’t cause a gain because nobody gains in their first week!
Super excited but, like you, anxious too. I’m classed as a high risk pregnancy because I had severe pre exclampsia with my first and delivered at 33 weeks. He is absolutely fine now though and a very tall 6 year old!
Think I have to start taking aspirin at 12 weeks, and will have to have a lot more appointments and scans, which means I will get to see the little bean more Smile
Have you told anyone yet?

Congratulations @SpadesOfGlory ! That’s reassuring knowing you had those pains too.
I think it’s pretty normal to not have many symptoms, I don’t remember having this many symptoms with my first, I’m sure it all started when I was around 6 weeks.
So exciting though isn’t it?! I just want to tell everyone, so hard keeping it a secret x

SpadesOfGlory · 31/07/2018 11:52

@Pitterpatter01 it's almost impossible keeping it a secret!! I've told my parents, sister and best friend, as we figured if anything were to go wrong we would need that support.

I have really irregular periods, I would be 7 weeks by those dates, but I was tracking ovulation and know I only conceived around the 12th/13th July, so I'll probably have my booking appointment too early!

Countingchickens · 31/07/2018 15:29

Hi!
I just got a BFP today... was not expecting that. We DTD on the 12th, first time without contraception and said that if conception happened we wouldn't be distraught about it. We tried about 3 years ago but we put too much stress on it so it never happened and I wanted to enjoy my career a bit. Was not expecting this to happen on our first try though! This is our first time.
DH thought I was overreacting when I told AF was late (2-3 days). He's at work so I need to have the conversation with him when he gets in later... Grin
It sounds weird but I felt I knew I might have been pregnant for a while. I woke up a few days ago with a painful left boob and I've felt bloated for a few days. I'm 4+5 but technically 2+5, due start-mid April Confused

Pitterpatter01 · 31/07/2018 17:07

Congratulations @Countingchickens
Wow super fertile Grin. It’s funny how you just kind of know isn’t it! I felt really nauseous this morning. Because I’m high risk I’ve just had a phone call from the midwife already which has made it feel real. I’m worried but also reassured that the midwife and hospital are already on it even though I only phoned them yesterday! Can’t wait for first scan and to be able to tell people

Haven't told anyone yet, but planning on telling my sister this evening!

I'm going on holiday on Sunday for two weeks. It's a long haul flight and I'm really nervous that I'm going to be feeling ill during the flight and whilst on holiday. There's not a lot I can do except to try and relax..!

When is everyone's estimated due date then? Smile

Countingchickens · 31/07/2018 17:32

I'm due the 4th April but actually due around the 18th. This is all very new to me! I was meant to be having an xray but I'd been waiting for AF to make sure and there were concerns I might be anaemic so I have a blood test in a couple of weeks. I'm guessing I need to bring this forward a bit?

Bethany0903 · 31/07/2018 17:45

I got my bfp yesterday with baby number 3! currently 4 weeks and 3 days by my last period dates! I’ve felt super sick and my boobs really hurt! Would be due about the 6th of April but will be earlier as it will be a c section! Congrats everyone! Enjoy

Pitterpatter01 · 31/07/2018 18:25

I’m due 6th April, but they had to deliver my first son via C section at 33 weeks so who knows what will happen this time. I’m hoping to be able to give birth naturally and obviously carry bubba for longer than 33 weeks.
My boobs are starting tomorrow feel tender now too. And lots of tightening sensations in tummy today and weird feelings!

OP posts:
Pitterpatter01 · 31/07/2018 18:26

Congratulations @Bethany0903 ! Exactly the same dates as me x

OP posts:
Bethany0903 · 31/07/2018 19:10

Oh that’s amazing! How strange to have the exact same dates! Xx

SpadesOfGlory · 31/07/2018 22:39

Ladies are any of you feeling shivery? I have been really hot for the last week (like DH can feel the heat radiating off me lol) but tonight I'm shivery like I'm coming down with the flu only not quite as bad. Reckon it's just another weird and wonderful symptom? Grin

Countingchickens · 31/07/2018 23:04

No but I have intense bloating/lower abdo niggles. I just put it down to my IBS Hmm

Pitterpatter01 · 31/07/2018 23:41

No shivering for me, quite the opposite. Keep having hot flushes.
I’m the same as you @Countingchickens lots of bloating which is making me look pregnant even though it’s just a little seed, and lots of pulling, stretching, tightening and tenderness in tummy. My lower back feels a little sore too.
I told my Slimming World consultant tonight, who happens to also be an ex midwife. She was very helpful and I’m confident it will help keep my weight gain under control. I actually lost 2lb this week which I was pleased with considering how bloated I am!

OP posts:
Countingchickens · 01/08/2018 09:48

Nice, well done Smile
I hope to lose a small bit by eating healthily as my diet was awful! I've always been big so it shouldn't show for a while and I wear a bulky uniform so I'm hoping it doesn't show.

Bethany0903 · 01/08/2018 09:53

Are you doing slimming world too ? I want to join back but was a bit worried with been pregnant! Want to loose some weight still as I have my holiday in November haha! X

Delilah7 · 01/08/2018 10:08

Hi ladies. Congrats all.
Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm 23 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Any tips for me. Getting 'period pains' more regularly now. Not overweight but very conscious of what I eat and drink now! don't smoke or drink anyways so x

Pitterpatter01 · 01/08/2018 11:44

@Bethany0903 it’s safe to do Slimming World whilst pregnant, they are supported by the Royal college of Midwives. I only joined last week not knowing I was pregnant. Told my consultant last night, she said it’s a great time to start to control your weight gain. They work with your midwife, it’s not about losing weight (although I’m still going to aim for this in the first trimester at least) it’s more about controlling the amount you put on.
Definitely encourages you to eat healthier!

Pitterpatter01 · 01/08/2018 11:46

Congratulations @Delilah7 I’m having those pains too along with heartburn and nausea! Are you taking pregnancy vitamins? If not then you need to start xx

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 01/08/2018 12:19

@Pitterpatter01 I am! I've just spoken to the midwife who wasn't very helpful as I've had some brown discharge once this morning. Obviously I got so worried so called. She then said I need to have a blood test as the pregnancy could not be continuing. Then my doctor said aslong as the pin doesn't get worse or blood I should take another test in two weeks. What do you think? It wasn't a lot of brown stuff x

Delilah7 · 01/08/2018 12:21

Tbh I'm pretty upset. I've defo had pregnancy sysmptoms big boobs nausea and tighter clothes!

Pitterpatter01 · 01/08/2018 14:11

@Delilah7 don’t panic, I’m pretty sure that a brown coloured discharge is very common, and it’s only when it’s red that you should be worried. I’m sure you will be fine, I’m quite surprised that the midwife said this!
Are you having quite severe cramps though? Or just period like pains?

OP posts:
SpadesOfGlory · 01/08/2018 14:48

@Delilah7 brown spotting is normal enough, try not to worry. It's if it gets heavier and red that they worry.
