Coping with being overdue

I am 40+3 today. Just been to midwife for a sweep but it turns out the baby isn't engaged at all and my cervix was too high. Looks like it's not going to happen anytime soon. I could moan all day about how rubbish I feel (but I won't!). The only really unbearable thing is lack of sleep. As soon as I lie down my hips hurt so much I could actually cry. Anyone have any tips?

Oh and today's major moan from me is I'm now covered in a full blown PUPPS rash and nearly ripped my skin off last night when I triggered the itch! The only cure is to give birth

Has anyone given accupuncture a go? I think I just had a well timed appointment and had treatment as I started niggling- maybe resulting in my productive contractions about 6hrs later they just kept coming rather than stop start. X

@Smurfybubbles I feel your pain. It was so bad last night I didn't sleep a wink. Nothing helped, there was no comfortable position 😢

How did everyone's sweeps go? Mine was more favourable than last time but still looks likely I'll be induced Sunday morning. Can only hope things happen naturally before then :)

Just back from my sweep. 2cms dilated already and baby's head really low but cervix still thick, booked for another on Saturday and induction on Sunday if nothing happens before then! Fingers crossed he makes a move before then!

@loosemoose28 My induction ended with an emergency c section, so I am in a bit of pain. Main thing is my baby is here and I've already put that looooong wait I did to the back of my mind. Hahahha

Sweep at 6pm yesterday, bloody show at 3am, back to sleep thankfully and have just started loosing more and getting a lot of back pain! Trying to remind myself that this can still go nowhere so bouncing on ball again! Saying prayers to the contraction fairies that they start soon as I really don't want another sweep or induction
Fingers crossed for everyone else waiting and hope all the new mums are enjoying their snuggles!

Been having contractions every 10 or 15 minutes since 2am this morning. Just been for a long walk and things seems to be amping up even more so fingers crossed it will happen quickly now. Haven't had any show but I think the midwife pulled most of the plug out when she did my sweep x

My sweep yesterday was absolutely futile, but am only 39 weeks so may have been getting ahead of myself

My beautiful little boy arrived on Tuesday evening and is doing well. His big brother 2.5 is happy with him 😊. Hope you are all doing well ladies x
