I’m 26 weeks pregnant and didn’t find out the sex as we wanted a surprise.

I’m sure it’s a girl. I have a gut feeling and I’ll be really surprised if it’s a boy.

Did you have a gut feeling? Were you correct?

Nope convinced I was having a boy and actually expecting a lil girl 😊

ShowOfHands · 01/04/2018 18:45

Women "know" the sex of the baby more often than can be attributed to chance which I find interesting.

I knew DD was a girl from the very beginning as surely as I knew my own name.

Second time round, I had no idea.

Poptart4 · 01/04/2018 18:48

I was right with all 3 of mine. To be fair you've a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

StorminaBcup · 01/04/2018 18:53

Nope! I fully expected a girl so when I was handed a boy (whilst still off my head on gas and air), I had a huge WTAF moment Grin

I actually really didn’t care what I had but I’d convinced myself I was right. Didn’t try and guess with ds2!

Gizlotsmum · 01/04/2018 18:59

Had a slight feeling with my first but was convinced with my second ( to the pint of not having a girls name) and was right both times.

PistFump · 01/04/2018 19:02

First time around yes, had a name picked out and everything. This time around I was less sure but thought more girl than boy .... I was wrong!!

Zebrasinpyjamas · 01/04/2018 19:05

I was wrong both times!

Grandmaswagsbag · 01/04/2018 19:09

I knew mine was a girl. I didn’t mind which I had before falling pg but just knew she was so I just had to find out rather than go through the whole pregnancy thinking she was a girl and have her pop out a boy. I think that would really have disconcerted me somehow. Expecting 2nd and I’m sure this one is a girl too, yet my nub guesses from friends have been boy! Will be Kinda strange if I’m wrong.

Grandmaswagsbag · 01/04/2018 19:11

I actually dreamed about my daughters birth years before I’d even considered having kids, so I knew I’d give birth to a dark haired baby girl and I did. I’m not into spiritual ‘hippy’ stuff but that was a bit weird.

SamanthaH92 · 01/04/2018 19:15

Right from the moment i found out i said it was a girl. Scan picture was a bit blurry at 12 weeks but defiantly saw a girly nub. Said at the 20 weeks scan they could tell me the sex but i was 99% sure baby number 2 was a girl. The lady said well you are right, its another little girl x

hoopdeloop · 01/04/2018 19:17

I knew with DC1 he was a boy and he is a happy 3 year old now! Pregnant with DC2, which I found harder to ‘just know’ but scan told be it’s another boy Grin

Loosemoose28 · 01/04/2018 19:33

I am convinced I have girl inside me. Will find out some point this month Grin 37+5 today...

userabcname · 01/04/2018 19:35

I thought I was having a girl when I first found out I was pregnant. The week before my 20w scan I dreamt he was a boy and he was! Weird!

boodles101 · 02/04/2018 08:47

I wasn't absolutely convinced but I did have a feeling i was having a boy. I had a dream about 8 weeks that I gave birth to a boy. I had all the old wives tales pointing at a boy, zero morning sickness, a 'typical shape' boy bump. Literally would get people stop me all the time look at my bump and say I bet that's a boy! My mum was even convinced that I had found out the sex but not told her! He certainly is a boy now 14 months old!

TalkFastThinkSlow · 02/04/2018 08:50

From the moment I found I was pregnant, I hoped I was having a boy.

When we talked about the baby, we often referred to it as "him".

We couldn't think of any girls names, but immediately thought of one boy's name that we loved, and decided that was our child's name.

We had a boy :)

splendide · 02/04/2018 08:54

I was sure I was having a girl - I felt it really strongly. I was wrong!

LadyLoveYourWhat · 02/04/2018 11:25

I never felt that I "knew" the sex, but we only came up with boys' names first time round and girls' names second time round and that's what we ended up with. Mind you our daughter didn't suit any of the names we had thought of, so was Baby Girl for a little while and a completely different name to the one she has for 24 hours before we finally decided.

Pigeoncat · 02/04/2018 11:32

This is really bad but I really really want a girl. In my direct line of close family everyone has had a girl (great gran had one girl no boys, grandma had 3 girls no boys, my mum had one girl - me and even my aunt has had 2 girls and no boys) I’m so much more confident looking after girls because it’s all I know.

I know I will love a boy but I dread finding out it’s a boy. How selfish is that? I just have this feeling it is a boy. I won’t know for a while though. I’m going to find out as soon as I can because if it is a boy I think if I have time to get used to the idea, I will become comfortable and excited with the idea of it. I hope other people experience gender anxiety and that it is normal because it’s making me feel like a bad person Sad

Grandmaswagsbag · 02/04/2018 11:42

Pigeon your not allowed to say that on MN. You will be told you don’t deserve to be pregnant, you will be a terrible mother to your children as you won’t love them etc, etc. But I feel the same. I have one girl and I really want another, I can’t really say why exactly other than I had 2 brothers that’s were very dominant in the family and I always wanted a sister myself and I’ve also got a feel that this one is a girl so it might be simply that I ‘know’ already. I want to find out as if I’m having a boy I will need to adjust my thinking somewhat before he arrives.

I've been right with 5 out of my 6 (pg with no.6). I was totally convinced my 4th was a boy, I was so so shocked when we found out she was a girl at the 20w scan.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2018 18:14

@Pigeoncat @Grandmaswagsbag I felt the same way (have one girl and really wanted a second girl) however I found out it is a boy via harmony test at 10wks. I'm not going to lie I was disappointed and I still am sometimes but I'm 20 weeks now and slowly getting more used to the idea. I still really want another girl but I'm hoping that when my son is born I'll find out that it's just the same (at least in the baby stage!) and the disappointment/apprehension will vanish. Best of luck to both of you.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2018 18:15

Oh and I 100 per cent knew he was a boy before I found out. Really strong feeling.

Luckingfovely · 02/04/2018 18:27

I was 100% convinced I knew which each of mine were. 100% wrong each time Grin

FranticallyPeaceful · 02/04/2018 18:39

I always assumed boys, maybe because I could only imagine having boys though - and indeed, I’m having my third boy
