I’m 26 weeks pregnant and didn’t find out the sex as we wanted a surprise.

I’m sure it’s a girl. I have a gut feeling and I’ll be really surprised if it’s a boy.

Did you have a gut feeling? Were you correct?

I had no clue with DS1 until 34 weeks. When packing my hospital bag, I suddenly knew I was packing the little vests for a boy. I was right.

DS2 had no idea but found out at 20 weeks anyway, much earlier than I'd had my inkling with DS1.

DD I knew she was a girl from 6 weeks. Completely different pregnancy straight off the bat.

YerAuntFanny · 01/04/2018 13:54

Yes, my instinct was right both times. I've no idea what made me think either way and I guess there's only 2 choices so a 50:50 chance of being right!

With #1 (DS) and #2 (DD) we had settled on sex specific names by our first scan but never settled on the opposite, they don't do sex scans here so we never found out for definite until birth.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 01/04/2018 14:03

Kept the first one a secret and maintained it was a boy from the moment I found out I 2as pregnant at 3 months, DP thought it was a girl but my gut was right. We found out 2nd purely because of financial reasons.

DS - right
DD - wrong
DS - wrong

Bluntness100 · 01/04/2018 14:23

To the poster who asked how you know, I don't know but some people just do. I was convinced throughout my pregnancy she was a girl. When she was born I said is it a girl ( the screen was op, c section, medical complications) and the surgeon said yes, and I looked at my husband and said told you it was a girl.

I also knew I was pregnant. I had missed two periods, had seen a consultant and was due to pick up infertility tablets from my gp that day, which the consultant thought would bring my periods back. We were TTc.

I had had it confirmed at the hospital I was not pregnant a few days before hand. I was hoovering and suddenly straightened and thought " I'm pregnant". I got into the car, went and bought some pregnancy tests, did them, they were positive, went into the gp appt to get the infertility drugs and took them out and put them on her desk. The doctor looked at them in surprise, looked at me, looked back at them and said " you're pregnant???" And yeah, I was.

Genuinely I just knew. I had this sudden thought and I knew.

Justwaitingforaline · 01/04/2018 14:25

I knew DD was a girl. We were told she was a boy at two separate scans but I just knew it was wrong. Low and behold, DD arrived much to my unsurprise!

GrouchyKiwi · 01/04/2018 14:40

I knew all three of ours were girls, though we found out with our youngest (I knew before then).

I'm also pretty good at guessing what other people are having. Have only been wrong once.

LaurG · 01/04/2018 14:48

No need to be such a smarty pants or add the ffs. I’m sorry some of us ingnoramuses use sex and gender wrong. It does’t mean that we are tying to offend anyone or push traditional gender roles. Just that someople innocently use these terms interchangeably. If you can’t say anything nice don’t say it at all.

Yes. I was convinced I was having a boy, every one else thought it was a girl. I was right.

Sunflowersforever · 01/04/2018 14:52

I was sure I was going to have a girl, and indeed I did, but I did panic a week before as I hadn't thought of any boy names. Wink

TheGrumpySquirrel · 01/04/2018 14:53

Yes I guessed both of mine correctly (girl, and now pregnant with a confirmed boy). Massively strong gut feeling both times.

Also think the baby I miscarried last year was a girl (but obviously wasn't able to find out).

happymummy12345 · 01/04/2018 15:07

I didn't want to know until the birth. I wanted a girl but had a feeling we were having a boy. We had a boy.

Loobyanna · 01/04/2018 15:10

I didn't find out the sex but wasn't surprised at all when she was born. Thought of her as a girl the whole way through. Suppose I had a 50% chance of being right though.

Fia256 · 01/04/2018 16:12

DS1 - knew he was a boy
DD1 - knew she was a girl
This baby - I really was hoping for a boy but was absolutely convinced it would be a girl. Just a gut feeling. Every old wives tale points to a girl, from cravings, the way I'm carrying, how sick I've been etc etc so I was utterly convinced it would be another girl. There was a definite willy on the scan last week Grin this was the pregnancy I was the most sure about too!

SVRT19674 · 01/04/2018 16:20

I was convinced it was a boy and it is a lovely little girl! Easter Smile

NimbleKnitter · 01/04/2018 16:27

I was convinced I was having a girl. Harmony tells me otherwise.

With a 50:50 outcome, a lot of people will guess correctly

usernotfound0000 · 01/04/2018 17:31

I know it's pretty much 50/50 but I knew I was having a girl. I ticked all the boxes on the old wives tales for girls and sire enough she is a girl!

Tortycat · 01/04/2018 17:35

Thought boys and right both times 😀

MinaPaws · 01/04/2018 17:36

I was 100% certain it was a girl and so was DH. It was twin boys!

Sharonthecat · 01/04/2018 17:40

Nope. Thought I was having an Olive, but actually had an Albert 🤗

53rdWay · 01/04/2018 17:44

I had a really really strong feeling it was a boy. Told myself of course there’s no way I could tell, but I was just so sure.

Was a girl!

Icklepickle101 · 01/04/2018 17:45

Very strong gut feeling. Wrong both times Grin

MrsDilber · 01/04/2018 17:52

It is so special to save it as a surprise. I did with with two of mine, found out the sex for the third. I definitely recommend waiting till you give birth.

As for your question:

DD1 - no
DS1 - no
DS2 - yes, then I found out the sex.

ifcatscouldtalk · 01/04/2018 17:58

Me, my husband and everyone thought I was having a boy. Lots of boys on husband's side of the family, fairly even on my side.
Mother in law predicted a big baby boy, at least 8lbs. We only had a boy's name. Girl's names we couldn't agree on.
So naturally I had a teeny 5lbs baby girl. She's a not so tiny teenager now.
I'm glad I didn't find out what I was having. Enjoyed the surprise and all the guesses.
Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Sarahh2014 · 01/04/2018 18:03

We had really strong feeling that we were having a girl.So much so that when the sonographer told us it was a boy we were shocked lol.Very pleased though it wasn't a preference for a girl just a feeling
