We have an Archie, so Archie. It's getting more common though, when we named him there were none. Shortly afterwards there was the monarch of the glen, and then bloody balamorey (dh liked it when I said he was an embarrasment of the name). Now I come across a few as well, didn't at all 8 years ago. I'm a trendsetter, was wearing crocs a year before they became popular, and was calling my firstborn Archie before anyone else He's not an Archibald btw- just an Archie. It was a family name for us as well- dh's grandfather, my great-grandfather.

nope, never met another Maximus. People don't bat an eyelid at it (although my db laughed - but that doesn't mean much!) - but then there are children here with much stranger names (Phoenix, Orion and Bear, all at the dds' school for instance).

I wonder if Max Bygraves was a Maximillian or just a Max.

I know an Archie who is the cutest wee boy on the planet - all golden curls and just a lovely personality. Plus we're in Scotland so it's not unusual really.

Thanks for all your comments - she is more swayed towards Maximus now....but knowing her it will proably be something TOTALLY different!!
