I know this topic has been re-hashed over and over, but I need some help!!
I've had really bad indegestion all afternoon, I've not eaten much and haven't had supper (can't face the thought). Have had two lots of gaviscon, and am now (at my mum's suggestion) trying cooled boiled water. Not convinced this will work though.

Does anyone else have any other ideas/inspiration? I'd be pretty much willing to try everything, it's really painful, my head is throbbing, I'm sweating and I've even tried sticking my fingers down my throat in desperation for some relief . Please Help!!

Had foul indigestion too - spent last few months sleeping in a sort of V shape: virtually sitting up with pillows under my back but with feet up on piles of pillows too as ankles so swollen. Decidedly uncomfortable. The only thing that helped me was the rather lovely named Mucogel which I swigged straight from the bottle. I got it from the midwives and kept a bottle in the car, one at work, one at my mum's and two at home! Also had a Remigel or two when I managed to go out and forget one of the many Mucogel bottles. Friend was told they were ok to take. Much nicer than mucogel or gaviscon as they taste like mint chews!

I had awful heartburn for 10 weeks or so of my pregnancy. Gaviscon was so revolting to me it made things worse. I didn't find any over-the-counter remedy worked at all I'm sorry to say but I did find that eating bread made it a lot lot worse so try avoiding bread and pizza. Small amounts of fizzy drinks like lemonade also helped to a certain extent. I know it's not much help, but my DD is now 4 months old and I have forgotton what it felt like, even though it was dreadful at the time. It will become a distant memory!
