Pregnant with no.3 and day dreaming what he will look like while having a coffee before work 😥.

Do your children look like each other, do your children look more like you or father?

I have 2 daughters, one is pale skin, freckles like me and the other is more darker in skin like my husbands side. At times they do resemble each other.

I look very much like my sibling.

I have a 4 year old DS and baby DD. My DS is the spitting image of DH and so far DD looks incredibly like DS. It's like I don't exist in this family!!

louisejxxx · 30/06/2017 09:08

My ds and dd look more like each other than they look like me and their dad. You can see both of us in them quite clearly, but they are virtually the same in appearance but with different hair colours.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 30/06/2017 09:08

I have three, bgb with about five years in between them all. The two boys are very alike in looks. In baby/toddler photos I often have to double take to decide who it is.
I think now they are all grown ups it's pretty obvious they are brothers.

DD looks a bit like dh's sister, but sounds exactly like me on the phone.

Whitelisbon · 30/06/2017 09:09

I have 5 dc, 2 with exp, 3 with dh.
All 5 of them look like each other, but none look like me.

ToesInWater · 30/06/2017 09:14

DS1 and DD are scarily alike (can only identify who's who as a baby because of clothes) both look very like DH. DS2 is my mini me. They all have my colour eyes though. Fascinating!

needsomesunshineandwine · 30/06/2017 09:16

I always thought kids would take fathers eyes for some reason, I have blue and so does oldest and youngest has different eyes from us all, ha.

Grin Good question!

I have 4 boys, all darkish blond and blue eyed and people say all the time they look like 4 peas in a pod.

They DO don't.
Different face shapes, different skin tones, different texture of hair, different body shapes, very different personalities.

DS1 and DS4 are maybe the most similar, but as their age difference is the biggest nobody gets them mixed up Wink

Fwiw, I am short, round, dark haired, my brother is tall, slim and blond.

alltouchedout · 30/06/2017 09:22

Ds1(his dad's double) and ds2 (takes after me) look nothing like each other. Ds3 is a hybrid of the two of them, which is lovely.

Kim82 · 30/06/2017 09:25

I have four children, my eldest 3 don't look alike at all (ds looks like his dad, dd1 looks like me and dd2 looks like her dad (different dad to first two) so I made my peace with the fact that they all look completely different. Then dd3 came along and is the spitting image of dd2 but with dd1's colouring. I love that she looks like the other two girls, it's so lovely to see little facial expressions and smiles that remind me of the other two girls.

bassetmum · 30/06/2017 09:33

I don't have kids yet but with my siblings. I am the spit of my mum, my little brother is the spit of my dad and my sister is a mix. However we all get told we are so alike me and my sister used to get confused for twins as kids, theres 21 months between us but i cant and have never seen the similarities!!

Heatherbell1978 · 30/06/2017 09:37

DS (3) is a mix of both of us but looks very like my younger brother!
DD (4 months) looks nothing like either of us!! People often look at her and say 'oh who does she look like then?'. Hoping she will grow to resemble one of us anyway....😬

Notreallyarsed · 30/06/2017 09:38

DS1 is very like me, especially his hair/eye/skin colour, DD is facially very like me with her grannie's colouring, and DS2 is the image of his dad with his grannie's bright blue eyes.

WhatHaveIFound · 30/06/2017 09:40

My DC look quite differnt to each other at the moment.

I'm mixed race, DH is white. DD looked like me as a baby but has grown to look more like DH so pale skin and a thinner face but my curly hair.

DS is a lot darker in colouring, even darker than me in the summer, same face shape but straight hair.

They're both inherited my brown eyes and super long eyelashes!

Wobblebeans · 30/06/2017 09:46

DD1 and DD3 look like each other, even though DD1 looks like me and DD3 looks more like DP.
DD2 is completely different, she looks like my side of the family but with DPs very distinctive shaped eyes, and she has very curly, unruly hair whereas the other 2 have straight/wavy hair.
They all have DPs blue eyes though, which I didn't expect, mine are very dark brown, they're almost black!
Despite DD2 looking completely different from them, you can still tell that she is their sister, it's weird.

MaidenMotherCrone · 30/06/2017 09:51

I have 3 DSs (adults now) and I've always had the 'peas in a pod' comments. I just don't see it. They also are supposed to look like their father, perhaps because they are male but I just see me in them Grin

My daughter has 4 all different dads !
We're all used to it now !'

Yokohamajojo · 30/06/2017 10:19

Two boys two years apart and they don't look at all similar. One is darker skinned, green eyed and darker hair after their dad, the other one is blond, freckled, blue eyed and I guess more my colouring. Although I have no idea where the freckles have come from

Berrybakecake1 · 30/06/2017 10:28

DS 12 and DD 2 they look like each other and they both favour me for colouring. Fair hair, blue/gray eyes. DP is olive skin dark hair brown eyes. They both look like me when I was little. Temperaments however, DS favours me while dd is more like DP

NataliaOsipova · 30/06/2017 10:30

My DDs look very alike. People say they look exactly like me as well, so we must look rather strange!

Pickerel · 30/06/2017 10:31

I have two sons who look very similar (except that one has freckles and one doesn't!) and very like their Dad, and a daughter who looks more like me.

mayoli · 30/06/2017 10:33

Don't have kids yet either but me and my full sibling look like each other when but from three years ago... does that make sense?
So three year old sister looked like me when I was three but by that point I was older and looked completely different. I thought it was just because we were kids growing but it's continued now- they're still a teenager and they look a LOT like I did at 16 but since I've changed drastically so if you didn't know me as a teen, you couldn't place it

skyzumarubble · 30/06/2017 10:37

I w got identical twins so yes, very muchGrin

LovePeaceAndHarmony · 30/06/2017 10:41

Going a little bit off subject - I have 3 brothers, 1 who is from my fathers current relationship, they all look the same and like my dad. I am a twin and I look nothing my twin brother, it has always puzzled me that I don't look like my brothers.

DS on the other hand looks exactly like me Smile and I'm sure if I were to have another baby they'd look very alike.
