Hello! I have been TTC baby number two for 3.5 years, two years ago I was told IVF was my only option.
Today I have taken four tests (just to be sure) and all of them are positive!
I'm a bit shocked, obviously delighted, but can't tell DH for another week as he works away.
I thought I should set up a thread for any other Christmas bumps!

I feel like someone's blew up my belly ... massive bloat!

MsRose31 · 06/05/2017 20:23

Congrats and welcome newcomers!!! Anyone puking yet? I haven't actually been sick but feel vile haha. I'll take this over not being pregnant though Smile

reetgood · 06/05/2017 22:15

No nothing here, but there's still time. I spent today being spectacular unproductive though, which is now bothering me. I'm like my dad, I feel the need to get something done on my day off. I just felt squished. I did some yoga earlier which I think helped, and now have woken up substantially. What is that all about? I am surrounded by absolute wonder women who achieved loads of stuff both pre and post pregnancy. I'm feeling a bit torn with whether to roll with the squishedness or try and gently encourage myself through. Boyfriend went and did the grocery shop without me, because he said he couldn't face me being whingy and tired if I came Halo

Hope2409 · 06/05/2017 22:35

Nope nothing here either, don't feel sicky at all! Just a bit tired with my big bloated belly still present! Have had a sharp pain in my bum cheek on and off over the past few days, think i have a trapped nerve! Blush

MsRose31 · 07/05/2017 06:13

Aw haha both your posts made me chuckle. @reetgood I believe that baby must be needing you to chill so go with the squished-ness and get your boyfriend to wait on you hand and foot 😂 and @Hope2409 that bum pain sounds annoying! Hope it goes away!

Hello, me again! Had my early reassurance scan at 7 weeks 3 days yesterday and saw just one tiny little heartbeat (had 2 embryos transferred after icsi so thought we might get twins). Feeling elated that we finally have a baby inside me but feeling so awful with nauseau and tiredness for the last two weeks, really struggling to cope. Got a Doctors appointment this morning so hopefully he can help! Hope you are all doing well xxx pS when are you all telling people you are expecting? Any tips for the nauseau?xxx

reetgood · 11/05/2017 09:59

Congrats Kate! Sorry got no nausea tips, it's passed me by so far. People say ginger? With regards to tiredness, I've decided gentle chivvying of myself is good e.g. Making myself do yoga made me feel better. But also going to bed earlier and doing a bit less..

MsRose31 · 11/05/2017 15:11

Congrats @CreativeKate, that's amazing! I've got my reassurance scan on Monday when I'll be 7+2. Bet it was amazing seeing a heartbeat. Nausea wise the stuff that helps me is drink lots of water, eat little and often (grazing alllllllll day!), ginger biscuits (apparently ginger beer is good but haven't tried), ice lollies, and as hard as it is when you're exhausted, try and keep busy and distracted. The key thing for me is eating little and often I think X

Brens13 · 11/05/2017 15:27

Same with me and the eating little and often. As soon as I feel a little nauseous I'll have a cereal bar, or a banana, or similar, and it normally keeps it at bay for a couple of hours. Today it's only really tiding me over for an hour, but luckily a couple of soft mints have also done the job.

twinkle1972 · 11/05/2017 15:44

Hello can I join in too please. I'm due 31/12 currently 6 +4. Got my first scan on 19th May Smile

CreativeKate · 11/05/2017 15:52

Thanks everyone. Trying to eat but can barely face anything, just beige things like bread or rich tea biscuits! @MsRose31 it was amazing to see the tiny heartbeat and they give us loads of little pictures to take home! It is really a miracle what they can do these days. Good luck everyone xx

MsRose31 · 11/05/2017 17:56

@CreativeKate beige food sounds about right! When I was pregnant with my daughter there was a time that all I could stomach was dry toast. Not eating made me feel worse though.

@twinkle1972 welcome and congrats! X

reetgood · 12/05/2017 13:28

I just had my first feeling weird about food moment, although I can't say with complete confidence it's all pregnancy related.

I'd made some little meat pies, and needed to pick up some veg to go with for lunch. I stood in the supermarket and nothing appealed, it all sounded rank. Soup, veg, I was having none of it. The only thing I wanted was some overpriced pineapple. So I had pineapple and meat pie for lunch :)

I'm following an eating plan that's about avoiding sugar and processed grain flour. It's great at keeping blood sugar steady. However all I want now is to sit and eat those pineapple jellies from marks and spencer. I suspect my brain is trying to get an opportunity to eat sweeties ;) shush brain

Hope2409 · 12/05/2017 15:49

I'm going to have to leave you all ladies, had my first scan this morning at 7+2 and there is no baby, it stopped developing and just the empty sac was left.
Totally devastated after 2 rounds of ICSI i really thought it was finally our time, but it seems not.
Back to EPU for another scan next week as ive had no bleeding or anything then its back to square one.

I wish you all the best of luck with your pregnancies and christmas bundles of joy
Xxx

reetgood · 12/05/2017 16:04

I'm so so sorry. That feeling of loss is awful.

Sending positive vibes your way for your next try.

Make sure you're being looked after Xx

Meeshel29 · 13/05/2017 10:06

I'm really sorry xxx

Carolwithane · 14/05/2017 15:52

Hey hope I'm not too late to join in! I'm about 8 weeks and given approx date of Dec 19th
I'm 39 and this is my first baby! Shocked but delighted
All is well so far only symptom is tiredness and sore boobs. No sickness or anything. Tbh I don't actually FEEL pregnant
Slightly worried about being an old bird!

MsRose31 · 14/05/2017 16:30

Welcome @Carolwithane! Congratulations on your lovely news Smile

And I don't think you're an old bird at all.. my mum had my brother at the same age as you, and my step mum had one at 43! Women are having them later nowadays. You'll have plenty more life experience than someone younger anyway!

MsRose31 · 14/05/2017 20:53

I've got my reassurance scan tomorrow at 7+2 weeks. Having a mini freak out that it will be bad news! I've only had one miscarriage but don't think I can handle another one!

runnerbean39 · 14/05/2017 23:42

Hi all, I hope it would be ok to join this thread as well please? I am 7+5 and due on December 25th (not intentional!!).

@MsRose31 All the best for your scan tomorrow, I hope it goes well. I also have one tomorrow - had a blighted ovum over two years ago (only found out at the 12 week scan) and only just got pregnant again. Absolutely terrified it will be the same this time, not sure how I would manage it either! Fingers crossed for both of us x

MsRose31 · 15/05/2017 05:42

Thank you so much @runnerbean39. Must be such a blessing for you but also terrifying that things will go wrong again. I have everything crossed for you too Xx

PS welcome to the thread!

reetgood · 15/05/2017 19:54

Hello, I hope people's scans were reassuring.

Food things and mild nausea has started. It definitely gets worse if I get hungry. And then I don't want anything, and spend ages thinking of something that is appealing enough to eat.

Yesterday it was smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel, except I dithered for an hour because smoked salmon is so expensive. And I'm trying to avoid processed carbs. I ended up with it on rye bread.

Tonight I didn't want any protein apart from prawns. Are my hormones trying to bankrupt me?

Plus I have such a hankering for tropical fruit. Not yet given in but one of marks and spencer tropical jellies would be great right now. I also just spent 80p on a passionfruit. It was delicious. I could easily eat another one despite the fact I am full. Am trying not to have straight up sugar but pineapple cubes or jelly is really calling my name.
