Hello! I have been TTC baby number two for 3.5 years, two years ago I was told IVF was my only option.
Today I have taken four tests (just to be sure) and all of them are positive!
I'm a bit shocked, obviously delighted, but can't tell DH for another week as he works away.
I thought I should set up a thread for any other Christmas bumps!

OP posts:

MsRose31 · 26/04/2017 19:47

Oops premature posting! So I'm a bit worried but trying to keep positive. Are you doing okay?

Meeshel29 · 26/04/2017 20:53

It's ok.... achy and sore. You ok? I'm exhausted though. I take a test every day. I don't know how I'm going to cope until my scan😂

MsRose31 · 26/04/2017 21:45

Haha I can empathise! I'm alright but I too don't know how I'll cope (mentally) until my scan. I already feel like I've been pregnant for ages. Very tempted to pay for an early scan. Exhaustion is a good sign for you though! X

Michellemc1xo · 27/04/2017 00:02

Congratulations Flowers

ACFW2016 · 27/04/2017 06:04

I've estimated the 17th December going by my dates and using an online calculator. I phoned the doctors and they've referred me straight to the midwife who I'm seeing at 9 weeks. This is so surreal as I've been trying for seven years and conceived naturally! Grin xx

Yummymummy3105 · 27/04/2017 06:54

I'm due a December/January baby! I'm super excited but super nervous as this is my first time!

Lolabee · 27/04/2017 07:09

Allegedly December 14th here. I say allegedly because we won't know for definite until the scan which is 1st June. Going to look for a good early scan provider because I won't settle till I know that it's all ok so far. Irrational panic on my part.

Lolabee · 27/04/2017 07:15

I'm in a similar position. Gp didn't need to see me, gave me maternity number who requested I email date of last period, name and dob.
Got a phone call 3 days later where midwife asked height, weight, previous pregnancy and mine and partners nationality. Took all of 3 minutes. All I know now is that bloods are on 14th may and scan is on 1st June. No other appointments made. Not even the one where they take your families medical history (quicker to ask what's not in mine tbh!!!)
So I'm feeling happy about baby, yet panicky and frustrated about what's going on

Brens13 · 27/04/2017 11:46

Hi, can I join too please :) Current EDD is 24th Dec, first pregnancy so all new and exciting. Congratulations everyone else too :)
I had first Dr appointment on Monday, answered the questionnaire, took bloody pressure, height and listened to my chest, then said I'd probs hear from the midwives around week 8-10 to arrange the scan. I'm so impatient I can only imagine that time will drag. It's so hard not telling people!

Meeshel29 · 27/04/2017 14:05

I feel like I need to book an early scan too. I don't think I'll cope waiting for 12 weeks. Feel like I've been pregnant 5 years already 😂😂

stuckinthehouse · 27/04/2017 19:42

Can I join? Bfp this morning - due date is apparently 29th December.

Two previous emergency c-sections will mean that I will opt for an elective section this time. So probably before Xmas!

cjt10 · 30/04/2017 12:43

Ladies, please can I join??

Guessing by my dates I am due around 28th December! We only found out yesterday and due to it being bank hol, can't call the GP until tomorrow/tues. Do I just book a doctors appointment or do I need to ask to see a midwife? It's our first so no idea what the heck to do 🙈

Congratulations to everyone else expecting! X

stuckinthehouse · 30/04/2017 19:33

cjt10 I can't remember what to do either! I think I will just phone my GP surgery on Tuesday and hope the receptionist will tell me what to do!

stuckinthehouse · 30/04/2017 19:37

Question about elective cs... How much say will we get over when this is done?

Does anyone know at how many weeks they will want to book me in? Due date is Dec 30th so I will be 39 weeks on Xmas Eve. Presumably it's wise to avoid the Xmas week if we can. Also my waters broke at 39 weeks with dd2 so presumably they'd book me in before this point...?

CreativeKate · 03/05/2017 12:37

After a 5 year journey, I got a positive test on 20th April after Frozen Embryo Transfer following ICSI in January (I got OHSS and was seriously ill in hospital after egg collection which delayed the transfer until April!) got first reassurance scan on 10th May and can't wait to see a heartbeat (or two - I had two embryos put back in). I feel so nauseous though and am fairly paranoid about everything! Good luck to everyone xx

Hope2409 · 03/05/2017 19:19

Congratulations creativekate thats amazing news!
I had ICSI too and after 4 years ttc and 2 rounds we got our positive on 21st april! We had two embryos put back also, our first scan is 12th may, i cant wait to check everything is ok and see if there are one or two!
It is a very exciting but nerve wracking time isnt it, im paranoid about every twinge! And my progesterone pessaries have given me a really big bloated belly, my jeans are too tight alreadyBlush

Congratulations to everyone else expecting!

Sorry stuckinthehouse i dont know anything about elective cs, this is the first time for me!

CreativeKate · 03/05/2017 21:33

Wow, congratulations Hope2409! We are at exactly the same stage - yes very exciting and very nerve wracking. I still dont quite believe it but the last couple of days I have been hit with really hideous all day long nauseau :( are you feeling ill at all? I am really hoping for twins but obviously will be really happy with one healthy baby, it has been such a long journey. The progesterone pessaries are horrible aren't they?! So messy. I have been told I'll probably be on them and the Progynova until 14 weeks! Not sure all the extra hormones are helping with the sickness/sore boobs/bloatedbess! I am struggling to wear trousers and nighties are my best friend at the moment!

Hope2409 · 03/05/2017 22:16

I still dont quite believe it either after waiting so long i never thought i'd see the day! I have to confess i have done a few more pregnancy tests since our official one just to check and see the positive again (sad i know!) Blush
I haven't felt ill yet, sensitive nipples, some tightness around tummy and my massive bloat belly but thats it really, i think i'm a bit more tired than normal and going for a wee more but i think thats more that i'm trying to drink plenty! Not sure if my lack of symptoms is good or bad but i'm trying to stay positive!
I read that if its twins symptoms can sometimes be worse or start earlier but i guess everyones different, a week to go till we find out!
Its nice to have someone at the same stage after the same kind of journey to chat with!
The pessaries are a pain yes, i have to do them 3 times a day which means at work too which i dont like but its for a good cause! I think my clinic notes say use them till 12 weeks.
Glad i'm not the only one struggling with clothes already, i've been wearing my leggings to work and straight in my comfy pj's at home!
Hope your nausea isn't so bad tomorrow x

reetgood · 03/05/2017 22:26

Hello could I join? Going by the NHS calculator my due date is 31 Dec. I am hoping it falls a bit later (new years eve is the worst time to have a birthday!). First pregnancy, I'm 37, we were trying but very very casually...Turns out it stuck. Two positive tests explains the extreme tiredness I had after coming back from an active weekend break. Mostly feel premenstrual (boobs, lower back) but I'm 10 days late with two positive tests soooo.

I haven't told anyone apart from boyfriend and am struggling to balance caution with excitement.

Brens13 · 04/05/2017 07:56

Congratulations reetgood New Years Eve birthdays aren't so bad - my sis is born on NYE and says it's great as she always has a party to go to without necessarily having to have one of her own!

I'm due Christmas Eve and I'd like it be earlier so their birthday never gets lumped in with Christmas.

Hope everything goes well Smile

Hope2409 · 04/05/2017 22:20

Congratulations reetgood xx

LateBloomer41 · 04/05/2017 23:43

Congratulations all! I'm 8 weeks with first baby, due on 14th Dec. Excited but nervous as I haven't yet seen a doctor, my booking appointment is next week. All seems very surreal...!

reetgood · 05/05/2017 20:48

Thanks Brens and hope... brother (not quite) in law is on the 28th Dec and it's always a bit of an inbetweener.

Have managed to book in midwife appointment, despite receptionist trying to tell me I wasn't in the right catchment area for the practice. Despite it being on the website 'it shouldn't be on there' and me having checked the day before. Fortunately I wasn't too arsey with her, so she didn't feel to stupid when the practice manager confirmed I could indeed register...

I am bringing boyfriend to appointments so he feels included...did anyone else? Frankly neither of us really know what we're doing

Hope2409 · 05/05/2017 21:08

reetgood my DH is coming to our first midwife booking in appointment, he says he wants to come to all my appointments as he doesnt want to miss anything which is fine by me but i'm sure he might change his mind as time goes on when its just check ups!

MadeForThis · 05/05/2017 21:13

Due 22 Dec with no2. Grin
