How old is too old?

I'm already a mum to 3 kids. My question is, how old would you say is too old to have another baby? I won't tell you how old I am just yet as I dont want to sway any answers!

DH cut off is 42 as he wouldn't want to be older than 60 they turn 18.

So by default mine is 33 - that's 5-6 years away and we're currently on number 3.

I had mine at 22, 30 and 36. The last pregnancy was filled with health problems which ended with a hysterectomy after giving birth. I'm 44 now and don't think I would have the energy to run about after a little one (obviously can't happen now anyway).

I never ever had a cut off age as such but am so glad I had all mine before 40.

I'm 36 and DC#2 is due in 4 weeks. I had DS at 35. All being well I think I would like a 3rd but if it hasn't happened by the time I'm 40 then I would stop there.

It's such a personal choice though and depends on your personality, lifestyle, relationship etc. I only got together with DH when I was 31, so having children in my 20s wasn't an option. I'm also physically a hell of a lot fitter in my mid 30s than I was in my mid 20s so feel able to cope with young children now.

My personal cut off was 35. I had my last at 33.

But it's a very personal & individual decision.

I had dd at 22 and ds at 23. Thought I was done.

Currently 27+2 with ds2 at age 35 (will be 36 when I have him) and already planning the next!

I conceived naturally (unplanned) at 47, unfortunately miscarried. Although I would have continued with the pregnancy, I was terrified at the thought of having an 18 year old at age 65!

Had my first at 21 (DH 29) second due soon at 24 (DH 32), in our current situation this is the last baby we can comfortably afford though I am struggling with the thought that this might be our last! Can't imagine dealing with a big age gap because of the different demands from a teen and a baby, but my mum had her first at 19 and last (me) at 40 so anything is possible! ;)

I want to say 34/35 as I am 36 and fucking knackered. I couldn't put myself through this past 40 fuck that I need a life at some point.

I had my last at 41 and as soon as I had her I knew she'd be my last. It's harder physically, easier in other ways but just too tough on my body to do it again a year or two later.

Well I'm 35. I feel more ready to have and manage a pregnancy/newborn than I ever did with the other 3.
I have very prem babies though which is a worry. I also worry about the increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities, as I'm older...

I'd quite like another one (38 this year) but DH is 60, we both have fertility problems and most people on here seemed to think it was a bit late to start trying again which I suppose they are right. I can't imagine the sleepless nights, but I am so broody!

It's such a personal thing but I had DC1 at 37 and DC2 the week before I was 43. I'm now 46 and knackered from toddler tantrums, lack of sleep and have no real down time. No way would I have another even though I would have had a much larger family if I'd met DH earlier.

I had my first at 18 and sailed through pregnancy going out, etc etc I'm now 36 and spent most of this pregnancy in bed, believe me it gets worse the older you get.

I'm 30 and personally my cut off would be 35 as I don't want to running after a 10 year old when I'm approaching 50. However my sil just had a baby a few days ago and she's 37. She has two children aged 16 and 10 already so a really big age gap between hers.

I think it's all comes down to how you feel in yourself xx

It is weird to think there is people who have babies at my mums age (47) not in an offensive way, I just couldn't imagine her having a baby now 😂

I think the sleepless nights after baby is born are worse than pregnancy and labour.

My dd2 was born when I was almost 37. I am most definitely finished. Or someone is getting sued.

Mentally I feel too young at 26 to have a baby but physically too old
