I am due on on monday, but I brought some cheap tests from ebay and they are showing a faint postive, within 3 minutes. Can it be wrong? If they are cheap can the result be wrong?
am a regular but changed my name as Dh doesn't want everyone knowing yet.

Hi there edie... I'd forgotten about this thread until you posted!!! I have been fretting so much about a multiple pregnancy. That's very reassuring to know! Scan next week will confirm, I can't wait!!!

Sorry after reading some of the thread, re. twins..

It isn't as bad as you imagine, infact it maybe harder in the beginning but when they are around 6 months they roll on the floor laughing together and it is simply the most fantastic thing...

If you have twins in the line, then it usually only runs down the female line, ie. Grandma, mother, daughter etc, the males have no input.

Additionally, the twin thing can skip a generation and usually does...ie. grandma,to grand daugther but occasionally can do all.

You can insure yourself against twins with any insurance company and if it is confirmed at twelve weeks, they pay out, it is really useful.

Me, I have triplets in my line, and I was carrying triplets but ended up with two, not a problem, can't imagine what three would have been like.

My grandma was a triplet and we have twins in our line too..

The only real indication I can say from experience of carrying multiples, is that you feel awful because of the increase in the pregancy hormones, much more than you would expect, in the early weeks. Also, your tummy will appear exceptionally large, and you may have bleeding from all the plancentas attaching, but not to be worried about that

The disadvantage is that you would be at risk of 8/10 of another set if you are carrying twins, so should you want an additional baby, be prepared possible for another 2!

Hi twinsnikki - I'm sure I'm getting worked up over nothing. My mum's dad's brother and sister were twins, so I guess that doesn't really count as they were on her father's side. I can't really compare about sickness etc as this is my first pregnancy. I'm not against twins per se, I think it would be fab, I'm just concerned cos my dh keeps saying if it's twins we get it all out of the way in one go (he only wants two) but I think I'd feel really cheated being pregnant only once, even if I had two children iyswim? I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing, I've only got a 14% chance of having twins, like everyone else!!
