Screening Test is High Risk fpr Downs, anyone else been here?

Please can someone give me some advice; I live in West Lothian and just recevied news that my screening test for downs has come back as high risk. I have an appointment today for a amnio and I don't think I'm ready to say whether I want this or not ( I only found out yesterday) has anyone been in a similar position?

If its at all reassuring, my nuchal scan came back as 1 in 5 chance of DS, 1 in 17 of another chromosonal disorder.

I went for a CVS immediately as I wouldn't have coped with waiting for an amnio, and thankfully it showed no chromosonal defects. The 20 week scan showed no abnormalities.

I'm 25 weeks now and all seems ok, though I won't be absolutely convinced till she's been born. Finding out the sex seemed to be an upside to the tests.

Had my second scan at 21 weeks today and everything appeared normal which I am thrilled about it's such a weight off my mind. I don't want an amnio but will see a consultant on Monday to discuss it.
