Early Pregnancy Scans....

Hi there, I wanted to create this to help people who are going through similar things to me. To outline, I suffered a blighted ovum last year at 11 weeks. I'm now 6+6 and going for an early scan tomorrow to hopefully see my baby and put my mind to rest. With zero pregnancy symptoms and history playing on my mind, I've found it helpful being on here and talking with others... roll on 12pm tomorrow!!

Oh well i can buddy you then lynsey as i am 6+6. It seems like FOREVER to wait doesn't it. I was so over the moon when i saw the little heartbeat last weds but i just can't get excited about this one yet... (1xEP, 1xMMC and 1xmc in the past.)

My DS keeps me going - he's awesome :)

iloveberries your always welcome to msg me! Yes it does seem forever! I finally rang midwife today to confirm my scan results and can't wait already for her to give me my booking appt so I can get another scan date.
I know what you mean about not getting excited, but please try and let yourself relax a little. Easier said than done I know. I'm afraid I don't know what all the abbreviations mean but am I right ds stands for son?! Either way, so glad whoever it is is awesome lol x

I don't know what all the abbreviations are either. Can only guess when reading some posts lol (know what that one is!!)

EP = Ectopic pregnancy

Aw boys are great, I have 3, age 10, 3 and 3! There is only 10 months between the little ones so as one just had his birthday, he's same age as older one til the next birthday in April! Can you tell I like my house being busy?!

Oh wow I am new to mums net and joined as was worried due to my early scan not showing what I expected and feel so much better finding this on here with lots more people going through same agonising waits ... Early scans have a lot to answer for I have decided :-/

I've always thought DS and DD means darling or dear son/daughter?

Welcome Esjaye, sorry to hear you're going through a tough time too.

I've got 2 girls 15 and 12 but had 3 MC in the last 5 years. At 45 I didn't think I'd get pregnant again yet here I am with the same worries and waiting for that all important heartbeat!!!

My OH keeps laughing at me (in a kind way) because I prod my boobs every five mins or so to make sure they're still sore!! This morning they weren't and together with spotting I was a nervous wreck. I hate the way your emotions change hour by hour and you micro analyse every feeling in your body!!

I have polysistic overlies and was on the pill so I was convinced wouldn't be pregnant but the test said yes and I'm guessing as there is a yolk it means I still am .... If they could just fit us with viewing Windows it would help a lot!!

Glad I not the only one prodding boobs but at same time now thinking the boobs and sicky feeling are psychosomatic :-/ I can't win

When is your scan peanut?

I can't decide if I feel sick or not. Am pretty sure it's sick with worry not pregnancy.

Scan is on tues afternoon. Had on 2 weeks ago at 7+4 and was told too soon for heartbeat as sack only measured for a 5-6 baby but otherwise healthy...!!

So you same position as me but a week ahead of me .... Good to know I not alone :-) please make sure you let me know how you get on xx

Love the idea of a viewing window esjaye would be great. Your little one had a battle to get to where he/she is so you know you've got a little fighter. Stay strong!

Just started bleeding red blood. Am thinking there's nowhere back from here 😢

Bleeding as in soaking a pad or just when you wipe? X

Just been reading the other thread you're on Lynsey and there are few Mums there with hopeful advice.

It's when I wipe but there's quite a lot although not enough to go on my pad. Boobs feel sore and I'm shattered but think that could be the stress!!

Right, well first, try not to panic. Secondly, I had the same, not on a pad, just when wiping. I was told I had a luteal cyst and that can cause bleeding, it's a common occurrence in pregnancy and usually harmless. Do you have any pain? Unless you start passing clots, it's very possible that you don't have any problems.
I know how upsetting it is though so I'm certainly not dismissing your worries.
If it does get any worse, go to A&E cos they can arrange a quicker scan for you x

Thanks Lynsey. What's a luteal cyst? Never heard of it. Have a really (and I mean really) mild ache low down but so mild it's hardly there. I've also been constipated since being pregnant so it could even be that. No clots and still nothing on pad

Aw thank you fruity that's lovely of you to say! Safe to say I'm overjoyed!

peanut it's just a harmless cyst that fills with blood. Usually it's shrinks back down and disappears by itself. Mine was found on first scan, was gone by second. Was only a wk between them! Occasionally it can get bigger but causes severe pain so wouldn't worry on that. I hadn't heard of it either.
The low down ache could just be things stretching, again, I've had the same.
I know nothing I can say will take away your worries but I hope you can relax slightly in the knowledge that this can be totally normal.
Remember your situation is extremely similar to mine and it worked out good!

Been ok. Have bled all weekend. Not heavily but enough to need a pad all day. Don't hold any hope for tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned it'll just confirm the worst :-(

I'm ok, had a bit of coloured discharge today which is first time since I had my scan and obviously it makes me worry but I'm trying not to panic. Epu won't have me back now and can't afford to go running to the private clinic everytime I wobble.
Just gonna have to keep faith.
I wish I could hurry the time up for you so tomorrow was here already, it's such a drag when it's all that's on your mind x

Appt's not until 2 but hubby is off too so at least I won't be on my own in the morning.

I know what you mean about paying for you're own scan, it's just not possible. Having said that, when I called EPU last week I was told it was good for baby to have too many scans anyway!

I'm sure you'll be fine. When's you're next appt/scan? Do you have any dates?

Aw glad you have your husband with you tomorrow. Maybe have a nice lunch together beforehand? I planned same thing but then couldn't eat!
Meeting with midwife on Thurs to finally get booked in properly. She's going by my dates at moment so hoping scan date will come through sooner that way! If she went by date the epu gave me, I'll be waiting an extra 2 wks. Had more spotting this afternoon and making me feel really unhappy. Hate all this worrying. Said to my partner I don't think I'll relax any until I'm huge and can feel baby moving around.
I'm sure you feel very similar. Gonna have everything crossed for you tomorrow x
