Early Pregnancy Scans....

Hi there, I wanted to create this to help people who are going through similar things to me. To outline, I suffered a blighted ovum last year at 11 weeks. I'm now 6+6 and going for an early scan tomorrow to hopefully see my baby and put my mind to rest. With zero pregnancy symptoms and history playing on my mind, I've found it helpful being on here and talking with others... roll on 12pm tomorrow!!

Good luck tomorrow Lynsey.

Pinkheart5915 · 23/02/2016 18:59

I hope tomorrow goes well for you and you have a healthy pregnancy.

I had a stillbirth in 2010, and left trying for another baby for quite some time, we now have a happy healthy baby boy of 5 months and I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with our second child. Happiness does find us in the end.

Do let us know how it goes.

1moretime · 23/02/2016 19:23

Best of luck lynsey. Lots of good luck & wishes sent to you :)

Congratulations pink heart lovely news.

I only found out I was pregnant yesterday - totally out of the blue..I'm on the pill & didnt think I coukd habe anymore children because of pcos & underactive thyroid.
Doc thinks I could be 6-8 weeks. I have a scan next Wednesday & im so nervous. Iv been on lots of medication & my TSH levels were elevated last month.
Xx

Thank you chandelierswinging Vixxfacee Pinkheart5915 1moretime so much for your good wishes. I've been trying to stay positive all week but now it's upon me I'm having palpitations and waves of dread keep washing over me.
Pinkheart5915 I'm so sorry you had to go through such a tough time. I can't imagine how you coped with such a loss. A huge smile for the 1 you have and one on the way tho.
1moretime congratulations, baby was obviously ment to be to overcome those hurdles! I hope all goes well for you, please keep in touch to let me know how you get on.
I'm going to catch up on eastenders to try and take my mind elsewhere for a little while. Not expecting much sleep tonight!

Another one wishing you good luck for tomorrow. Thanks

I live near Birmingham-which hospital/epu are you going to (don't have to answer if you don't want to)?

LynseyH5 · 23/02/2016 21:05

Thank you. I'll be at Heartlands. Absolutely dreading it as it's where I was when I found out I had miscarried last time. Also, the epu there always seem way behind schedule so I sit there getting quite worked up worrying. On top of that, I'm scared they'll make me sit for ages when I'll have a full bladder for the scan!! The nerves I have right now are nothing like I've ever known Sad

Thank you so much for all your thoughts, wishes and support. I don't think I would have coped this last week or so without talking to the lovely ladies I've met on mn. I'm now a fan for life and hope I can carry on being positive and supporting others going through the same type of worries xx

MyPeanut · 24/02/2016 23:10

I'm sorry to jump on Lynsey's happy time, but I wonder if any can give us hope? I had a scan a week ago at 7+4 and the baby was found to be only 5-6 weeks so too early for a heart beat but looking healthy. I had small brown spotting on just before the scan but that stopped the same day and everything fine since. Until today when I had brown discharge on my tissue this morning and again this evening, only more, but nothing during the day and definitely brown not red.

I spent the day yesterday at the NEC walking around and wonder if I over did it. Is this possible? Or is it the start of the end?

I've got another scan booked for next Tuesday but that seems a lifetime away.... Please any advice would be good...

LynseyH5 · 25/02/2016 07:19

peanut remember what they say, brown blood = old blood. Overdoing it has a lot to answer for! Literally listen to your body, and don't put too much strain on yourself.

After I had spotting, I barely moved off the settee for days, only moving to sort kids tea and stick washing machine on etc. Spotting stopped. Then I went the shops and carried heavy shopping home.. I spotted a lot more that night. Went back to my sofa and had a cry... now look, happy baby with lovely little heartbeat!
Stay strong! Xx

Oh also, your story is similar to mine, I should have been 7 wks exactly when had the first scan, no heartbeat and only 2mm possible embryo.
Only 1 wk later baby is measuring 6.9mm with a healthy heart... those extra days make a huge difference xx

Thank you Lynsey I hear what you're saying and after you'd had the fab scan I had hope. But this morning boobs feel less tender and still got brown DC. Been awake since 6 this morning searching for hope on the internet (bad I know!!)

iloveberries · 25/02/2016 11:21

Lynsey I am really pleased for you. How far along are you now?

peanut - i have heard the same about brown blood. When I've miscarried it has been bright red and like a very heavy period (sorry if tmi.)

6+6 here today and still anxious as hell. Trying to get a scan for next Fri when I will be 8+0. Boobs have shrunk a bit over the past couple of days Sad but still sore. It is so hard the waiting isn't it....

Angelto5 · 25/02/2016 11:23

I've had 5dc & at the beginning of all (about 6-8weeks +) pregnancy so ive had bleeding. Ranging from spotting to heavy red /brown blood & carried on to have healthy babies.

I think bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common & unless you have pain or cramping it's ok.

Good luck with your scan next week mypeanut Thanks

LynseyH5 · 25/02/2016 14:19

peanut please don't Google! After yesterday and the good news, I totally wiped my search history and decided not to do it again!
I wouldn't worry too much about your sore boobs either... That's the only symptom I've had this time and after a few days, it stopped. Only occasionally get pains in them now. With my others, never had sore boobs at all.
Thank you iloveberries they have put me to 6+4 (should be 8+1) but never mind lol. Waiting game and limbo land is the very worst, try and distract yourself in anyway possible. Make sure everyday has something in it and the days will go by quicker. Use these threads to talk too, helped me a lot x
