I'm five months pregnant with second child. This time around I've gained more weight, I'm retaining more water and I started showing sooner. I'm not, in my opinion, too big bump-wise but I'm not neat and tidy like Kate Middleton by a long shot. Generally, I feel pretty low about how I look at the moment and I'm eating healthy food in order to keep further weight gain at a healthy level.

Anyway, despite me telling my MIL, SIL, BIL that I don't like my body shape being discussed, they continue with (recent examples):

Oh my God I can't believe how big you are.

That must be a seriously big baby

You're only halfway there are and already you are HUGE.

Anyway. I'm aware that I'm hormonal and probably over sensitive, but tell me, would this upset you? (It's every fucking time they see me).

I'm also aware they talk about my size among themselves.

It really pisses me off and makes me feel like I'm some kind of subhuman baby vessel a la handmaid's tale.

But then again I could be overreacting. Hard to say really, I cried at Dumbo yesterday.

Thanks! My mum is brilliant and tells me my bump is perfect. DH says my bump is big, but exactly as big as it should be to house our little wonder. Smile

I love it. It gives me an opening to start talking about my favourite subject. .. my baby!
I'm not yet showing with my second, but with my first no-one ever touched my bump.
I can't wait to have another bump to talk about soon!

It's annoying me a lot more this time, with DC 3. I may just be more grumpy and tired though.

My mum goes on a lot which is bugging me for some reason. She is v judgy though and makes me self conscious at the best of times.

DS2 tells me I'm "emormous" quite a lot. I'll let him off though. He's only 3.

I've put on loads of weight each pregnancy so far. Just hope I can lose it all again! Bump is measuring fine for dates. My babies have been totally average as well despite people thinking they'd be huge or twins. Hmm

People should realisenot to mess with grumpy pg ladies...

Depending on the position of the baby my bump either looks utterly huge or relatively neat on any given day (32weeks) when its looking huge, its the STARING that winds me up, what are you expecting to see people?? Add to that a wonderful case of SPD complete with pained waddle I'm sure they think I'm about to give birth in front of them. Now this is DC3 I get a lot less bump-touchers and remarkers though which is great but its that faux-sympathy that grates a little. "8 weeks to go thank you :)" "OH head tilt you POOR thing, longest 8 weeks of your life!"
